Britney Spears sued for sexual harassment

Recommended Posts

A former bodyguard for pop star Britney Spears has filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against her.

Fernando Flores has accused the singer of repeatedly parading around in the nude and having sex in front of him.

Mr Flores also claims Ms Spears caused him emotional distress by having violent quarrels with her boyfriend in front of her two children.

The singer's lawyer did not comment. A lawyer for her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, called the case "baseless".

According to papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Mr Flores alleges that Spears made repeated, unwanted sexual advances and summoned him to her room to expose her naked body.

He also claims that he witnessed the singer punish her young sons with his belt and act inappropriately in front of them.

However Mr Federline's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told The Associated Press that Mr Flores' accusations had been looked into before the legal action was filed and warranted no action.

He added his client took allegations of abuse or wrongdoing regarding the former couple's children seriously.

"He is satisfied that the allegations are a product of economic motives. They are as baseless as they seem," Mr Kaplan said.

Mr Flores, who worked for Ms Spears from February to July this year, also accuses his security firm employers of ignoring or mocking his complaints over the singer's alleged actions .

Hot.

If this were a few years ago I might have agreed. But this apparently happened this year, and I'm not entirely sure if I'd want to see that.

He's doing this for economic reasons? Has Britney pulled herself together again and got back on track? If not, I can't imagine now being the right time to go for her money...

Could be worse if you ask me...

She punished her kids with his belt...

Hmmm, something is afoot! How did she get his belt?

If she took it off him, then apparently he wasn't too distraught

about her getting too close. And if he handed it to her, he wasn't too

worried about what she was going to do with it.

1. he could have quit

2. it could also be said he was not doing his job

3. accused her of parading around naked, uhh if you don't like what you see don't look or leave the area.

4. he has no case

5. dude gotta be gay to be complaining about this, she's doable

The comments would be sooo different if it was the other way around

Well men don't use females as bodyguards so, and yes i do get your point.

just thought i'd have a laugh.

Yeah, the dude must be gay if he is is accusing Spears for sexual harassment and of the tortious action of IIED (Intentional Infliction of Extreme Emotional Distress). Her outrageous act of parading around nekked can be construed as an outrageous act but him suffering from emotional distress as a result of this act can be interpreted as "baseless". This case can be dismissed since it lacks merit but it will interesting to see if the acts toward the children will be taken seriously.

    • I'd say the first one failed to be as popular as Apple anticipated, but the easy adjustment here is to make fewer of them next time around. It would only be a "flop" if it isn't possible for Apple to recover the design and factory tooling costs given the number of units sold, which I doubt would be the case. It isn't like no one bought them; it just failed to become the new hot phone of the year.
    • You're right that it does not follow the plain meaning of the word, but in this context, it is a legal term defined in 49 U.S.C. Kind of how "wire fraud" laws apply even if a physical wire was not used. Given that it is codified in law, and it isn't just automotive journalists that don't understand evolving technology, I highly doubt congress would change a well understood term just because technology makes the term slightly less actuate.
    • This is exactly why I keep saying we are not ready for human free self-driving. These little "bugs" are may seem like random one-offs. There was also the Waymo that drove between police with drawn weapons and the suspect they were pointing them at. From a software perspective it is easy to understand how those extremely rare situations may not have been programed for, but that is the point. If AI needs to be told to watch out for every possible contingency, then it can never be successful. There will always be the possibility of a first encounter that the AI needs to understand to avoid.
