Grant A. and TechGuyPA, when you register Sethos' key and get 2 back, please shoot me a PM with at least 1 key attached.

I changed the rules a bit so I could distribute the keys to everyone on the list instead of relying on people who may not be monitoring this post as closely as I am.

Please read the first post again with the updates if you have any questions.

Doing great so far guys! Hopefully everyone here gets a key before the servers start tomorrow!

Your inbox must be full; I can't send you a PM. Please send me a PM when you're able to receive again, as I won't be checking this thread often.

What's up with everyone in these robes? I'm like the only one that doesn't have one lol

It's what you see when their armors are not loaded.

Sent out a few more keys. Still got quite a bit left. Come grab em by replying!

Off to bed for now, will check back tomorrow!

I would love to have a beta key if anyone is interested in having a pal around! I have been waiting on this game for months and i would rlly appreciate a key!

Again, you're a one post wonder.

Apply on the site, usually Neowin gives keys to people who are established members of the community.

Welcome to the site, not that it matters as we'll never see you again.

Man, this game runs like utter poop on this rig. I mean, I figured since it's Source based I'd be good to go, but holy cow! Either the game is totally not optimized properly yet and it's buggy and runs poorly in spots, or this rig sucks worse than I thought!

Still, I love the combat in the game so far :D

The one post wonders, surprisingly, are not all leechers so far! As long as he gives one key or two back, there's no loss here :) Besides, if he does decide to check back often, it's a nice little welcome present!

I updated the OP, which says if you guys want, post your in game name here, and I will put it right next to your name on the list, so we can add each other to the friend list!

Anyone else unable to connect to the server? I keep getting these messages:

Response form server delayed.

You have been disconnected from the server.

Retry, then:

Account authentification has failed.

Please try again after logging in through the website.

And so on. :(

Ouch, on Med Low settings, this game is stuttering and puttering along. Was only able to run around town for like 10 minutes this morning before work, but after work, I will set everything to low and try again. I hope it get optimized greatly, and soon.

I created my character on East about 10 minutes ago.....not sure if its still up or not, I was remoting in from work and getting about 2-3 FPS, so I had to skip the prologue (I'll play it again once I get home on a throw-away character), but I was on so I know the servers were up a little bit ago.

Went home at lunch so I could eat quickly and play through the prologue area, and I REALLY like the combat so far, I love how you can combo things together and it just feels so open, mouse 1 three times then mouse 2 (spinning attack that hits things around you) then "e" to grab the enemy in front of you and bash him, it just seems really open and fluid. The only thing so far that I do not like about the game is mouse control in combat. Currently, your character attacks in whatever direction you are looking, which makes sense if you are standing still swinging your sword, but if you are moving and attacking your character should attack in the direction he is moving, NOT turn to look towards your mouse direction, attack, then turn back and move in your movement direction. If they change that, the combat will be perfect, allowing you to focus on something while attacking in all directions, but considering thats the only downside I have seen yet, it is looking really good so far.

i got mixed up that way a couple times last night nagisan, but i also found it fluid to change attack direction with my mouse when surrounded by a group of mobs. i guess both have pros and cons, but i like it the way it is now. there's been a few times where've ive done half a combo in one direction, then finished in it in the opposite direction, killing the whole group in one combo.

After East was down I created another character on West :/ So now I have a higher level guy on West. Are we still going to stick with East? I'd like to know how reliable East will be in the future.

Yes, we are sticking with East! Something tells me if the East is unreliable, then so will West. Just East was out of luck at launch. Hopefully it gets stable soon!

I just like to be able to focus in one area (such as if your group was fighting a boss and you were killing adds) while attacking in another. It improves focus on certain things while making it easier (IMO at least) to attack in any direction you want without taking your focus off of something else. You can do the same thing no matter which method of attacking it uses (follow the mouse or follow the movement), I personally just find it easier if it follows movement because generally, if you are moving, you are trying to attack something in that direction (dodging excluded for obvious reasons). Maybe they can add it as an option.

If you think about how melee works in other Source engine games (HL2, TF2, L4D, etc), you always attack in the direction your mouse aims, so I doubt they can change that without modifying the engine a lot...

Also, guys, if you have a char on East, please let us know your alias!

    • Microsoft finally admits its default Windows 11 25H2, 24H2 action broke key legacy component by Sayan Sen Microsoft last week released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. So far the company has acknowledged two known issues that have popped up after the release which include bugged-out Office apps as well as the Recycle Bin; though there could be more at play too. Speaking of bugs and issues, Microsoft seems to have finally acknowledged a problem that probably has been around for close to a year. That's because back in July of 2025 the company made a default change to the latest Windows 11 versions, wherein it switched to JScript9Legacy on Windows 11 24H2 and later releases. Hence following the release of version 25H2 in October 2025, JScript9Legacy also remained default-enabled. As a result there has been a compatibility issue ever since then. For those wondering, by switching to JScript9Legacy Microsoft intended to improve the security of modern Windows PCs by reducing vulnerabilities tied to legacy scripting like cross-site scripting (XSS), among others. XSS exploits can allow cyber-attackers to attach malicious code onto legitimate websites and use them to execute the code when a potential victim loads such a website. Hence the new JScript9Legacy engine enforced stricter execution policies and improved object handling, which should help mitigate such attacks. Microsoft today has published a new support article detailing the problem. Neowin spotted it while browsing. The company says that JScript global definitions and execution context may fail to persist across scripts, potentially breaking older dependent apps and web-based components that relied on this legacy behavior. In the article Microsoft has confirmed that the issue stems from its move away from the older jscript9.dll engine in favor of jscript9legacy.dll. As mentioned above, while the newer engine was designed to address vulnerabilities and strengthen security it also changes how JScript handles execution context. As a result functions and definitions loaded by one script could no longer remain available to subsequent scripts once execution ended. The company notes that some applications worked correctly on earlier Windows versions because the older JScript engine automatically retained global definitions and execution state between scripts. Under the newer model though that behavior is disabled by default causing certain legacy workloads and polyfill-dependent scripts to fail. Microsoft says it addressed the problem via the KB5077241 update though the fix had not been enabled automatically in the following updates. As such admins must explicitly turn on persistent JScript execution context using a Registry setting that the tech giant shared today. The configuration can be applied to individual processes or system-wide through the FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE registry key. The steps have been outlined below: Run the following command to create the feature control registry key: reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE" Under this key, create a new DWORD (32-bit) value. Configure the value as follows: To enable persistence for specific processes only: Set the value to 1 for each target process name. To enable persistence for all processes: Add * as the key name and set its value to 1. You can find the official support article here on Microsoft's website.

    • VidCoder 12.20 by Razvan Serea VidCoder is a DVD/Blu-ray ripping and video transcoding application for Windows. It uses HandBrake as its encoding engine. Calling directly into the HandBrake library gives it a more rich UI than the official HandBrake Windows GUI. VidCoder can rip DVDs but does not defeat the CSS encryption found in most commercial DVDs. You’ll need the NET 8 Desktop Runtime. If you don’t have it, VidCoder will prompt you to download and install it. The Portable version is self-contained and does not require any .NET Runtime to be installed. You do not need to install HandBrake for VidCoder to work. Feature list: Multi-threaded MP4, MKV containers Completely integrated encoding pipeline: everything is in one process and no huge intermediate temporary files H.264, H.265, MPEG-4, MPEG-2, VP8, Theora video Hardware-accelerated encoding with AMD VCE, Nvidia NVENC and Intel QuickSync AAC, MP3, Vorbis, AC3, FLAC audio encoding and AAC/AC3/MP3/DTS/DTS-HD passthrough Target bitrate, size or quality for video 2-pass encoding Decomb, detelecine, deinterlace, rotate, reflect, chroma smooth, colorspace filters Powerful batch encoding with simultaneous encodes Customizable Pickers to automatically pick audio and subtitle tracks, destination, titles and more Instant source previews Creates small encoded preview clips Pause, resume encoding VidCoder 12.20 changes: Updated HandBrake core to 1.11.2.
