Preview of 64-bit version of Flash Player available

Adobe Flash Player "Square"

Adobe? Flash? Player "Square" is a preview release that enables native 64-bit support on Linux, Mac OS, and Windows operating systems, as well as enhanced support for Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 beta.

We have made this preview available so that users can test existing content and new platforms for compatibility and stability. Because this is a preview version of Flash Player, we don?t expect it to be as stable as a final release version of Flash Player. Use caution when installing Flash Player "Square" on production machines.

The key new capabilities in the Flash Player "Square" preview are:

64-bit support ? Native support for 64-bit operating systems and 64-bit web browsers on Linux, Mac OS, and Windows.

Internet Explorer 9 hardware accelerated rendering support ? Enhanced support for Internet Explorer 9 Beta. It takes advantage of hardware accelerated graphics in Internet Explorer 9 Beta, utilizing hardware rendering surfaces to improve graphics performance and enable seamless composition.

Important: Please note that if you install the Flash Player "Square" preview, you will need to keep this version up to date by manually installing updates from the Flash Player "Square" download page on Adobe Labs. You will not receive automatic update notifications for future final releases of Flash Player, and you will need to manually uninstall Flash Player "Square" before installing a final shipping version of Flash Player.

Just pin the 64bit browser at Taskbar. Works the same.

And... try to use HTML5 video, rather Flash, now that IE9 is out, throwing away flash.

yes this will open x64 version however if you will click direct links for example inside mail, it will open 32bit IE :) and anyway ofc i enabled html5 in youtube now, but flash still will be needed for quiet a while :)

SWEET! only 7yrs too late, nevermind :p

Wonder how much improvement the 32bit builds will have on IE9 beta 1 and firefox 4 beta 6.

Finally!! I'll try out the 64bit version of FF4 when I get home tonight :D

there is only a 64bit version of firefox 4 beta 1, there probably won't be any more until the final build which will be released AFTER the 32bit version.

Now we just need 64bit silverlight, 64bit quicktime, 64bit chrome and we're good to go:)

Additional feature I just noticed: it seems to FINALLY allow full screen video on one monitor whilst working on another without closing.

FINALLY!!! I got dual monitors recently and that had been ****ing me off so much!

EDIT: confirmed here, does work for me on youtube.

    • I am not surprised because life is the product of a lot of biochemical and physical processes that releases various energies as a by-product. The only thing new here is the detection of these photon emissions. The researches noted this "glow" is not a metaphysical one. They don't even immediately end when one is dead. Things like fires, light bulbs, and on a bigger scale stars release a lot more "light" and they are hardly alive.
