If not You might need to install your network driver from your motherboard installation CD. Look in your system properties and make sure your network adapter is visible and enabled. There are no drivers for Win7 Pro on the Dell website, only Vista. I installed the Vista drivers. What happens when you plug your ethernet into your laptop. You getting any icon display? If not You might need to install your network driver from your motherboard installation CD. Look in your system properties and make sure your network adapter is visible and enabled. The installation CD is in another state and I never downloaded Vista from MSDN because I had Win7 and now my subscription expired so I can't get it. I have never had to set a static IP on the LAN adapter before lol. +Warwagon MVC Posted October 12, 2010 MVC Share Posted October 12, 2010 First check to see which IP address your router have your wireless connection to do this connect to your wireless network and press windows key +r and type cmd in the run box press enter Then in the black box type ipconfig /all (and press enter) make note of the following ip address subnet mask Default gateway and DNS server then open the control panel and go into network and sharing center then click on change adapter settings in the top left Right click on local area connection and choose properties Then in the list click on "internet Protocol Version 4" and click properties Put a dot in "Use the following IP address" as far as IP address, take the number the wireless card got and increase the last number by one (example if it was 192.168.1.103 use 192.168.1.104) then use the same subnet mask and Default gateway. Then put a check in "Use the following DNS server address and enter the DNS server numbers the wireless card had Now just ok out of all of the boxes.
