GT5 delayed because of XMB OS security breach

Recommended Posts

That doesn't make it right. If it were not for pirates, we wouldn't need security like this. I blame those that steal, not Sony.

Lets see...A game this big will most likely be pirated within a few days of launch anyway. So who actually loses out? The pirates? Nope, its all those people that pre-ordered the game and now have to wait 3 more weeks.

I'm waiting for GT5 to get hacked on day 1 (it will, you can't stop the hackers) and Sony are going to be so red faced for delaying the game, to prevent piracy, and have it pirated anyway! :p

Well unless they have come up with something new, that isn't going to happen on day 1 seeing as they haven't, from my knowledge, worked past the firmware lock for games with the new Frimware, like MoH.

Well maybe not day 1 (that was probally a slight exaggeration(!) ), but it will be hacked. Also now with the delay and games like MoH that use it are out, hackers have more time to figure out how to break it. I get why they want to make the game as hacker proof as possible, just seems pointless to me ****ing off fans world wide just to make sure people actually buy the game....I mean don't the pre-orders speak for themselves? I dunno, I'm getting pretty jaded over this whole "piracy war" developers are waging these days......take what I say with a grain of salt.

The first few weeks are all that matters, game sales are always highly front loaded.

Im hoping so, teach them for keep moving the goalposts every time i pre-order it and pay for it in advance.

Teach them what? That Richard Hammond gets annoyed at paying for his pre-orders?laugh.gif

No im just annoyed its taken this long, i put the money down on a pre-order and they go and and delay it some more, i bought it on shopto.net and they dont give you money for refunds they only give you credit, one of my PS3s is JB so im gonna steal this game and i hope others do too.

Pirates ruin it for everyone yet again.

To be fair they have had a lot of time to work on this game so to me this just seems to be another rubbish excuse. The game will be hackable anyway, because nothing is unhackable.

ShopTo don't charge for pre-orders until they ship blink.gif

And yeah cool, go steal the game because you have to wait a few more weeks laugh.gif

Exactly they are just bullcrapping and using it as an excuse, 3.42 isnt cracked and they could have easily updated to that if 3.50SDK wasnt ready.

The game was made on 3.41, would still of been recalled/delayed going to 3.42.

They do if you click pre-pay once you have preordered a game.

And yeah cool, go steal the game because you have to wait a few more weeks laugh.gif

More than a few weeks, they said they were announcing release date 7-14 days after black friday in the US which is Nov 26th so its going to be approx 2 months at least before its in the shops.......

Why would you click pre-pay? (just interested).

Also that's fair enough if that's your estimate but if you now plan on JB and pirating instead how long do you think you'll be waiting, if ironically waiting is indeed the issue you're annoyed at?

And yeah cool, go steal the game because you have to wait a few more weeks

Yea it boggles my mind that just because a game doesn't come out when somebody wants it that it's some how cool to then pirate it, incredibly lame excuse, lol.

Let's get the rampant rumours on the go that will give the GT5 fans nightmares for a few weeks

local distributor here ( www.cdmarket.com.ar ) has just confirmed that November 30th is the release date in the US, here in Argentina, we'll be playing aprox on December 7th.

http://www.cdmarket.com.ar/View/2254...turismo-5.aspx

The data was collected an hour ago from the distro at US, hope they keep it as it is

Thanks to cdmarket.com.ar's Fatez in Argentina.

Give me a break. You most likely did not pre-order this, but is just upset that Sony delayed this game to bundled the jail-break killer firmware into it. You are leech, and have no right to complain especially after admitting to piracy and not supporting the developers. If that is not the worst rationalization of piracy then I do not know what.

The irony is that you are supposedly upset at this delay, but it would never have happened if not for people like you.

The problem arose when SCE mandated SDK 350 on all games releasing after after October, GT5 was about to go gold running on SDK 341, but it has been delayed by around a week so that they can update to SDK 350. This has caused a big headache for the manufacturing side, given how big this game is missing the gold date by even a week can cause a months worth of delay as slots are already taken up at this time of year for Blu-ray movies and such.

Hahaha.. I read this as.. excuse, lies and then a preparation of how they will defend the fact that GT5 will be delayed for another few months. laugh.gif It's so obvious.

Next announcement will be "Oh crap, we did miss the deadline and the replication factories are all packed with Blu-rays, so we'll have to release GT5 in march 2011"... Just watch :)

    • Studio MDHR reveals Cuphead sequel and an 8-bit platformer spin-off by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Studio MDHR has been rather silent about its next major gaming project since the release of Cuphead back in 2017. However, that ended today during the Summer Game Fest presentation, with the studio revealing not one but two project announcements. First, the studio confirmed that it is currently in the middle of developing a brand-new Cuphead game, bringing back the iconic characters for another adventure. Just like the last game, this is slated to be a fully hand-animated endeavor. This also means there isn't a release date attached to it yet. “Craftsmanship is at the heart of everything we do here at Studio MDHR,” says co-founder Chad Moldenhauer. “When it came time to peel back the curtain and share a little bit about what we’ve been up to, we couldn’t imagine a more fun way to do so than with today’s Special Bulletin. The studio is working on this new Cuphead with help from Toronto’s Stop Motion Department and Continue Agency. At the same time, Studio MDHR also revealed that another part of the team has been working on a different Cuphead installment. Dubbed the Mighty Cuphead Adventure, this is taking a different art direction to the original. "In true Studio MDHR fashion, this game goes beyond just taking inspiration from the classics of the 1980s… it is actually built with technology of the era," the studio explained. "That's right: Mighty Cuphead Adventure is programmed in assembly language and designed with the exacting specifications of the Sega Master System home gaming console in mind." Aside from releasing on PC and modern consoles, Mighty Cuphead Adventure will even be playable on the 1985-released Sega Master System. A release date has not been announced just yet.
    • Any decent ITSM will A) have a web form that allows a user to raise a ticket, if you're writing an email you can write a ticket. B) Monitor a mailbox and auto-generate tickets based on inbound mails for those users that really can't get their heads around the concept that if you have an issue you go to support.mycompany.com and fill in the box. From your description you're having users email the desk, and then having a human read each one and manually raise a ticket on behalf of the user.

    • Fixing things? Have you ever tried linux? Everything works out of the box nowadays in most common hardware. This includes Wifi and Bluetooth. If anything, if they return back to windows is because they haven't found an equivalent program which often used on windows.
