[Official] Battlefield: Play4Free

It's an interesting combination of Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 2. The music alone filled me with feelings of nostalgia. I'm definitely going to check it out.

Same here. Felt like I was in high school all over again  .

I had my nose in the air about this one until I watched the trailer. It definitely looks like a lot of fun, and I will give it a try. The only thing that I wonder about is how EA is going to monetize this down the line. It would be cool if they limited it to advertisements and apparel (hell, I would probably buy some stuff for my soldier), but I have a feeling they'll start offering up more powerful guns for cash as well.

Looks a hell of a lot better than Battlefield Heroes though.

Strike At Karakand?! :woot: That's like my favorite MP EVER! With BF2 being my favorite MP game ever! :D Holy Crap! I am stoked! Cannot effing wait!

STRIKE AT KARKAND! One of the best bf2 maps ever. Officially gonna love this.

Exactly. (Y)

If I get the tank when the round starts, watch out.

Looks exactly like BF2, why not just go play that.

It's even lacking content in comparison.

From what I see its more like A combination of BF2, BC2, and a little bit of heroes, making for a more casual game than bf2. The graphics are slightly updated bf2 graphics, its free to play, probably doesn't have the ridiculously slow bf2 server browser, will probably have more servers as its a free to play game (I can't even play bf2 anymore, every server is infantry only karkand or a jets only flight simulator fest :p)

I can definitely see why one would want to play this over bf2.

Fair enough, from the videos I just didn't see the point :) Probably because I never was a huge BF fan, except BF1942 and a bit of Vietnam.

Are you one of those that just roam around the first checkpoint and kill everyone immediately as they spawn?

Yeah you are such a fun competitor >_>

I've already been through this multiple times on this site, and i swear it was with you as well, but no, i will actually play the entire map. Yes, sure the first battle of the match usually tends to take place on that hill going into town and sure with a good engineer i could just keep the match there and thats it, but that gets old really fast. And that area is actually pretty far from the spawn point. I have never nor will i ever spawn camp. I actually play Conquest mode the way it is meant to be played, so i will capture and defend points. I probably know the roads of karkand better then i know my own roads in my neighborhood and i can drive the tank the entire time backwards if i wanted to. I am just good with a tank and enjoy driving them. Just as there are people that are good with the copters and prefer that. So way to make a comment about me being a fun competitor without having any clue.

I'm really liking the game's concept... but am I the only one who think it looks just like BF2, if not worse? (graphics wise). I know I've got a bit of nostalgia goggles going on, but I played it not too long ago, and I have to say the graphics on this are less than impressive.

Ah man DL I can't wait for this! Me and you are going to have to get some games in together (Y)

No doubt man! You know we will get some matches in. I am really looking forward to it as well.

I really am curious since this is PC only, if there are going to bring back the more robust squad system, basically the way it was in BF2, and not the stripped down version we have come to know thanks to the game being consolized. Not that squad system in the Bad Company games has been awful, but it is definitely not the way it used to be. I loved having commanders and squad leaders, so I really wonder if it will come back, and if it does not make it into this game, it better make it into BF3.

I know exactly how you feel dude being elected to Commander felt awesome in BF2 and it really did work well! I loved that system and the day BF3 comes out is the day I am going to build a BEAST of a Gaming Rig for that game alone! Cannot wait!

I think you should play bf2 again, these graphics definitely look better.

    • KillerPDF 1.4.2 by Razvan Serea KillerPDF is a lightweight, portable PDF editor for Windows built for users who want full control without subscriptions, installers, or telemetry. It runs as a single executable, making it ideal for USB use and field work. You can view PDFs with smooth PDFium rendering, navigate quickly with thumbnails, zoom, and shortcuts, and reorganize pages using drag-and-drop. It supports merging multiple PDFs, splitting documents, and extracting selected pages. KillerPDF also allows inline text editing with font matching to preserve the original layout, plus annotations like text boxes, freehand drawing, highlights, and reusable signatures. You can search full text, copy content easily, and print documents with flattened annotations. Designed as a free and open alternative to bloated PDF tools, it works fully offline on Windows 10/11 x64. No runtimes install. Everything needed is inside the EXE (targets .NET Framework 4.8, which ships with every supported Windows release). KillerPDF key features: High-quality PDF rendering via PDFium Edit PDF text inline (double-click to modify text) Page thumbnails and fast navigation with zoom and shortcuts Merge multiple PDFs into one Split PDFs and extract selected pages Drag-and-drop page reordering Font matching to preserve original document appearance Text boxes for notes Freehand drawing tools Highlight overlays with adjustable color, size, opacity Undo actions and clear per-page annotations Create, draw, and save reusable signatures Click-to-place signatures anywhere Full-text search with highlighted results Drag-select or Ctrl+A to copy text Print with annotations flattened Portable single-file app (~10 MB) No installer, no admin rights required No account, no telemetry KillerPDF 1.4.2 changelog: What's new PDF form filling. Interactive PDF forms now render their fields (text inputs, checkboxes, radio buttons) as live controls. Fill them in directly and save — field values are written back into the PDF. PDF outline (bookmark) navigation. A new OUTLINES tab in the sidebar displays the document's bookmark tree. Click any entry to jump to that page. The sidebar auto-fits its width to the longest entry on open and can be dragged wider; switching back to PAGES snaps to the pages-mode width. Fixed Page rotation no longer reverts after saving. Rotations applied via the sidebar context menu now persist correctly through the save pipeline. Copied text words were out of order on PDFs where glyphs are stored in non-reading order (Issue #66). Text extraction now sorts words by position and uses a dynamic line-grouping threshold so both drag-select and Select All produce correctly ordered output. PDFs with malformed or non-standard XRef tables now open in read-only mode instead of showing "Invalid entry in XRef table" and failing entirely. • The very fact that a TPM (v2.0 specifically which is part of the issue I suspect) is now a baseline for any supported Windows installation will naturally mean other vendors will start to leverage it as they know it'll be there. It's called progress, and it's always been the way. A TPM isn't a windows thing, it's just a module designed to securely store keys. Secure boot isn't a Windows thing (although MS are the TCA as I recall hence the upheaval this year as the 2011 certs expire), it's just a way to verify a bootloader is signed. Windows simply leverages them.
    • It's a local account with the ability to reset a password at a very base level. I really don't get the issue that gets whipped up around it But you do you
