+hayc59 MVC Posted November 30, 2010 MVC Share Posted November 30, 2010 (edited) Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is an anti-malware application that can thoroughly remove even the most advanced malware. It includes a number of features, including a built in protection monitor that blocks malicious processes before they even start. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware monitors every process and stops malicious processes before they even start. The Realtime Protection Module uses our advanced heuristic scanning technology which monitors your system to keep it safe and secure. In addition, we have implemented a threats center which will allow you to keep up to date with the latest malware threats. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is considered to be the next step in the detection and removal of malware. We compiled a number of new technologies that are designed to quickly detect, destroy, and prevent malware. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware can detect and remove malware that even the most well-known Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware applications on the market today cannot. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware v1.50 November 29th, 2010 Overall Improvements: • Dramatically improved scan speed: up to 5 times faster. • Dramatically improved stability of both the scanner and protection module (paid version only). • More responsive: program loads up to 3 times faster, and protection module has lower impact on system resources (paid version only). • New internal detection algorithms enable detection of more real-world malware. New Features: • You can now add files and folders to the ignore list manually. • Ability to schedule and unschedule scans and updates from the command line (paid version only). • Notifications of blocked malicious websites now include additional details such as type, port, and process on Windows Vista and higher. • Ability to include or exclude potentially unwanted programs (PUP), potentially unwanted system modifications (PUM), and peer-to-peer software (P2P) from scans and protection module detections. • Dramatically improved flash scan (paid version only) -- designed to determine whether a more in-depth scan is needed, in less than 10 seconds on many machines. • One-touch easy-to-use option to keep protection up-to-date automatically (paid version only). • "Warn if database is outdated by:" option now warns if the database is far out-of-date (7 days by default), including for protection (paid version only). • Ability to scan system startup locations for improved detection and to target persistent malware that may be obstructing removal. • Right-click context menu scans now use heuristics. Issues Fixed: • Improved compatibility with antivirus software. • Fixed issue with "Recover if missed by" setting in scheduler not working correctly on Windows 2000 and Windows XP. • Fixed issue with "Recover if missed by" setting in scheduler not working for scans and updates scheduled to run 'Once'. • Fixed issue with Heuristics.Shuriken causing the program to freeze or crash. • Fixed issue with certain infections going undetected by the protection module in 64-bit Windows versions. • Fixed issue with silent scans not creating logs in certain scenarios. Nagisan
I've fine with them having a paid and free version, but why would they improve scanner stability and improve load times on the paid version but not the free version? That is stupid IMO, stability and something as small as load times should be added as a general code base upgrade, not something separated out between the two. That being said, scanner speed increases are always nice, but Malwarebytes has always been one of the most effective and quickest scan engines I have seen. Kudo
I always love this app, but I listen to music and radio on my PC and it interfere with the sound while listening to music and browsing. I got rid of the program and the problem was gone installed and it was back so I guess MB was causing it :( Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/957180-malwarebytes-anti-malware-v150-released/#findComment-593440008 Share on other sites
Chaltalian
This is great! :D I think MB should get a tiny facelift soon though. I was hoping it would be included in this update, but I guess not. Am I the only one that feels this way about the UI? Stability isn't something you should have to buy the application for. Having said that though, I've not had a single problem with MalwareBytes. tsupersonic
I'm using the free version, and holy crap, the scan times have dropped almost 50%! I usually range 1 min on the scans on the previous stable version, now it's 35 seconds! :D (this is on a SSD) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/957180-malwarebytes-anti-malware-v150-released/#findComment-593443094 Share on other sites
amon91
I think MB should get a tiny facelift soon though. I was hoping it would be included in this update, but I guess not. Am I the only one that feels this way about the UI? Definitely but I just started ignoring that given how great the app is. I use MSE but resort to MB for emergencies and for whenever I need to scan a computer quickly.
