Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is an anti-malware application that can thoroughly remove even the most advanced malware. It includes a number of features, including a built in protection monitor that blocks malicious processes before they even start.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware monitors every process and stops malicious processes before they even start. The Realtime Protection Module uses our advanced heuristic scanning technology which monitors your system to keep it safe and secure. In addition, we have implemented a threats center which will allow you to keep up to date with the latest malware threats.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is considered to be the next step in the detection and removal of malware. We compiled a number of new technologies that are designed to quickly detect, destroy, and prevent malware. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware can detect and remove malware that even the most well-known Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware applications on the market today cannot.

• New internal detection algorithms enable detection of more real-world malware.

New Features:

• You can now add files and folders to the ignore list manually.

• Ability to schedule and unschedule scans and updates from the command line (paid version only).

• Notifications of blocked malicious websites now include additional details such as type, port, and process on Windows Vista and higher.

• Ability to include or exclude potentially unwanted programs (PUP), potentially unwanted system modifications (PUM), and peer-to-peer software (P2P) from scans and protection module detections.

• Dramatically improved flash scan (paid version only) -- designed to determine whether a more in-depth scan is needed, in less than 10 seconds on many machines.

• One-touch easy-to-use option to keep protection up-to-date automatically (paid version only).

• "Warn if database is outdated by:" option now warns if the database is far out-of-date (7 days by default), including for protection (paid version only).

• Right-click context menu scans now use heuristics.

Issues Fixed:

I've fine with them having a paid and free version, but why would they improve scanner stability and improve load times on the paid version but not the free version? That is stupid IMO, stability and something as small as load times should be added as a general code base upgrade, not something separated out between the two.

That being said, scanner speed increases are always nice, but Malwarebytes has always been one of the most effective and quickest scan engines I have seen.

Nagisan, you make some great points

maybe stop by the forum and post that issue?

I always love this app, but I listen to music and radio on my PC and it interfere with the sound while listening to music and browsing. I got rid of the program and the problem was gone installed and it was back so I guess MB was causing it :(

This is great! :D

I think MB should get a tiny facelift soon though. I was hoping it would be included in this update, but I guess not. Am I the only one that feels this way about the UI?

Thanks (Y)

Totally agree. Stability isn't something you should have to buy the application for. Having said that though, I've not had a single problem with MalwareBytes.

I'm using the free version, and holy crap, the scan times have dropped almost 50%! I usually range 1 min on the scans on the previous stable version, now it's 35 seconds! :D (this is on a SSD)

Definitely but I just started ignoring that given how great the app is. I use MSE but resort to MB for emergencies and for whenever I need to scan a computer quickly.

    • Microsoft is busy. Lots of changes to be released imminently for Windows server or soon. Also, lots happening for next version as well. Third party virus scanning software is being moved out of Kernel mode to avoid repeat of Crowdstrike incident. Windows Protected Mode and Windows Ready Print no longer require third party print drivers to be installed. New storage stack being developed. New NVME drivers now available for Windows Server 2025 to improve local NVME drive performance by 60+ percent. NVME-Of of fabric being worked on for next release to improve network access to NVME drives. ReFs (next file system) now has ability to boot and will become default file system in next release of Windows Server. ReFs improves on NTFS in several areas including resiliency and reliability and scalability. New update stack is being worked on to unify Windows updates, and updates for drivers and first party/3rd party application software. A stricter and more robust third-party driver certification program (ODI) is being worked on to improve performance, thermals, battery life, and reliability on modern Windows hardware by tightening how OEMs and IHVs (Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, etc.) build and ship drivers. There is a tone more but too numerous to mention.
    • Now disable that stupid OneDrive backup request when Windows starts please. So unbelievably frustrating to only have “remind me later” instead of “no and never ask me again”
    • Hello, The Media Creation Tool is still at v10.0.26100.7019 from October 2025. Just looks like the backend has been updated. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • Since they open sourced the calculator in Win 10/11 it is much better and can do a lot, I love it.
    • That's just silly imo. The lengths that man goes to just to avoid W11 is just nuts. Very, very few home users would do that. I will say this though, he is committed. Btw, I note on askwoody that Woody Leonhard passed away March, 2025 aged 73. His site was one of my favorites back in the day. Belated yes but RIP Woody.
