WikiLeaks.org suffers 2nd DDoS - 10Gbps!

Ah the typical mindless hatred of the card carrying patriot. Are you trying to say that things like rape, murder, beatings, and torture are actually being done because of orders from above? because not only is that staggeringly stupid, it would also paint your government in a FAR worse light if it where true.

Ah the typical mindless hatred of an anti-American nutjob. I'll take your reply as a 'yes' to my initial reply. Thanks for eliminating any doubt!

LEt's assume you have a 10Gb upload, your ISP wont allow you to send so many packages for long. This is defintely govt

The first D in DDoS stands for something important here: Distributed. It's never just one computer or connection.

Too bad posting my real reply for you would probably get me banned here.

Amen, I want to do the same and can't either. This is my polite view of the person though. An American nutter and should wake up and smell the Coffee.

Nope, not at all, I just despise card carrying brainwashed patriot nutjobs like you and the OP that have non sensical opinions, and react with anger and aggression whenever evidence of your country's wrongdoing is undone. As I am from the UK as well, the claim of "Anti American" doesn't actually carry the same level of insult that it would to a fascist like you, I don't care if people call me Anti American, because sadly for you the behaviour of your country is not always correct and you have no right to expect to be beneath criticism when you do something wrong.

I also see you didn't address my point raised about the absurdity of what you said earlier, so tell me, are you seriously trying to claim that the violence, rape, torture, and murder campaigns against Iraqi civilians are only coming from orders, or are you going to step off the dishonesty train and accept the stark fact that your troops aren't all the perfectly behaved heroes that your media make out?

Wikileaks should be destroy by the best hackers in the world so they can delete and **** all these data that is affecting the integrity of our army around the world.

successful troll is successful

all you guys got trolled hard; most responded to this simple kid and forgot the article lol

So quick to jump to conclusions. I hate to tell you, but that makes you no better than Sarah Palin.

Did you ever stop to think that the United States may not be behind the DDoS attack against WikiLeaks?

As embarrassing as the leak is for the State Department, it actually paints our diplomats as pretty smart folks that are well aware when they are being snowed. If anything, the Iranians, North Koreans, and even the PRC government are angrier over this diplo-dump than the State Department!

For at least as long as there has been a United States (if not longer), the art of diplomacy is about being able to lie publicly while telling the truth in private. (To that extent, it is no different than politics.)

No nation can (or should) always tell the truth all the time for the simple reason that the leaders of some nations could NOT stand being told that they are unfit to be local dogcatcher, let alone dictator of North Korea.

Our at least initially keeping this stuff under the table did the PRC, North Koreans, and even the Iranians huge favors - now the planet entire knows better (including, with the exception of the PRC', their own citizens). Are you that much in favor of folks getting killed over protesting the exposing of their own government's stupidity? (Protests do happen - even in North Korea.)

Sarah Palin is a politician turned "talking head", speaking from the political POV, and she is looking at this from that POV. Politicians hate being embarrassed, and this is indeed a major embarrassment for the United States from the political POV.

However, it's worse for the North Koreans, the Iranians, the Russians, and the PRC (despite the Great Firewall of China; at some point, this *will* leak through it, though not easily). All four nations (with autocratic or even outright dictatorial governments) have tight controls over how their citizens see that government. Now - thanks to WikiLeaks - they (at current, except for most of the PRC) know that painted picture is so much BS. There *will* be repercussions behind those national borders. People will die.

And we're supposed to cheer this?

What are the meaningful things you learned from the latest leaks ?

Beside the caricatural view of world leaders : Sarkozy, the emperor with no clothes. Batman Putin. Hitler Ahmadinejad etc...

Actually, we're learning that our diplomats are pretty smart folks that are well aware when they are being given a load of BS.

The other thing we are learning is that they are a lot better liars in public than we give them credit for (and for very good reason - it's often their necks in the noose if they utter a wrong word).

All too often, we seem to forget that being a diplomat in another nation (especially one that we are in an adversarial relationship with, such as Russia or North Korea) is like being all alone at the end of a plank above a school of piranha that haven't had a meal in a week: one wrong word, gesture, etc., and the plank snaps. (More often than not, the diplomats are the *first* casualties in war.)

I have a lot more respect for our diplomatic corps now since the leaks than before them.

Part of the problem that the "anti-US" posters face is that the assumption is that those troops ARE carrying out official policy. We don't claim that our troops are perfect (they are human, and by and large we SHOULD know better). We merely state that such inhumane treatment is not (in any way, shape, or form) normal policy of the United States (and it isn't, by and large). There are aberrations (enhanced-interrogation techniques, Manzanar, Andersonville, etc.); however, by and large they are NOT the rule.

The other part of the issue is that, for some nations, what we regard as aberrations ARE official policy for some nations (not just adversaries, but even nations that are allies, such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Israel).

However, even when they are NOT official policy, no nation is immune to having such aberrations happen. (If you think that's the case, you are deluding yourself.)

One thing that I can say is that the United States is a lot better at policing itself when such aberrations are uncovered than are others - where WE get called on the carpet is that such aberrations happen at all.

The United States is, by and large, expected to be perfect.

We aren't, and don't claim to be.

So quick to jump to conclusions. I hate to tell you, but that makes you no better than Sarah Palin.

So, to summarise, like your government you believe that it's OK to behave and like and support petty dictatorships. You're just an apologist and you have nothing to be proud of. You support a government that commits unspeakable crimes on a daily basis and then you denigrate whistleblowers for giving hope and encouragement to the oppressed and disenfranchised. It's people like you that are the problem.

However, even when they are NOT official policy, no nation is immune to having such aberrations happen. (If you think that's the case, you are deluding yourself.)

I never claimed that other countries are immune from this, it's just that the bulk of the flak on this is coming from the US because they can't hack their dirty linen being aired in public.

One thing that I can say is that the United States is a lot better at policing itself when such aberrations are uncovered than are others - where WE get called on the carpet is that such aberrations happen at all.

Really? So why is so much of this being covered up? Why was the "Collateral murder" incident covered up? Why is it that the crew of the USS vincennes rather than being treated with the revulsion that they deserved for shooting down a civilian airliner and claiming the lives of 290 innocent Iranians, got MEDALS of honor for "courage under fire"?

The US armed services are not at all good at policing their misdeeds, they are every bit as bad as the Russians for coverups.

However, it's worse for the North Koreans, the Iranians, the Russians, and the PRC (despite the Great Firewall of China; at some point, this *will* leak through it, though not easily). Do you think that the North Koreans, Iranians, Russians and the PRC are Na?ve enough to not know how the United States really feel? Everything in this leaks I am sure these countries already know. If they are looking for an excuse to do something, they would find an excuse anyway.

Interpol, has just issued a red notice for Julian d'Assange.

For... You'll never guess.

Yes, all hail the "Hero" rapist. One question: If he's innocent, why is he on the run???

As far as the documents, they do provide an interesting insight that we rarely hear about but has been going on for decades. Did you guys think foreign affairs was the Boy Scouts or something? Welcome to the real world. Every nation has skeletons in their closets.

This includes Jolly Ole England.

Mounting evidence of British war crimes

Quote from article:

"WikiLeaks also cited three reports recording cases of direct abuse by British troops against Iraqi detainees that coincide with mounting evidence of “systemic” abuses of detainees and other civilians."

I am reminded of an old saying involving a pot and a kettle. Perhaps you remember it too, Subject Delta.

:D

The behaviour of your army is what is destroying it's integrity, these people are just revealing the truth. Maybe if you have such a problem with the truth being exposed, you should condemn your army for its behaviour rather than complaining about the people who expose it.

+ 1

Wikileaks should be destroy by the best hackers in the world so they can delete and **** all these data that is affecting the integrity of our army around the world.

Integrity, my lilly white arse!

Wow... that's all I have to say.

Ha ha ha!

Ahhhhaaaaaa ahhahahhhhahha aahahhhahahahahhhahhh!

I must admit I did the same thing!

The sites seems to be back up now. As for the documents.. I'm sure everyone knew by now the U.S govt wasn't innocent in anyway. I mean cmon what govt hasn't covered up things or lie to everyone its the govt.. lieing and coverup is rule #1.

I never claimed that other countries are immune from this, it's just that the bulk of the flak on this is coming from the US because they can't hack their dirty linen being aired in public.

I am reminded of an old saying too... well actually it's just 2 words... reading comprehension... practising what we preach and all that ;)

I am disgusted by the fact that my country's armed forces are involved in this horrible war, I never wanted us there in the first place, and any British troop that commits a crime should be held wholly accountable for it, no question. The point however is that in this instance, the behaviour of my country and its troops is not the question, and the diversionary tactics being used are pretty pathetic.
