Actually bought this. I've played it for 2 hours and I'm regretting it immediately.

What is there new in this game? It's so..bland. I can see it being great if you're a Star Wars nut but for MMO players wanting something new there's just..nothing.

If you looking for something new, it's not in a MMO or many games at all.

Every MMO is just a rehash of something else, WoW was a rehash of Everquest, Everquest was a rehash of Ultima.

The only thing I would call NEW is just the Dialog options ( light side dark side ), as well as Voice Acting. Other then that it's the same as every other MMO, and every MMO is like every other MMO

Gonna join that game in 2-3 years when their Mac version is released hehe

Yea i played it for a bit on BootCamp, and it just blows quality wise, laggy as crap and the screen rez is all hosed up ingame

That would have been true if SWTOR had what every other MMO has already. As it stands right now Bioware's game lacks many basic features such as a combat log, macros or searching in the AH by name. Let alone addons and advanced UI customization. The game is certainly great as a solo experience for the story, but just doesn't have the tools to succeed at end game. Granted, this could change and they could implement all the features they're lacking, but until then I prefer playing something that already has all the features.

SWTOR isnt the only game without a combat log, Macros, etc, etc.

And inthink WoW is the ONLY game with addons and the advanced UI Customization. And personally im glad for it.

I dont want to deal with people that go on a rant cause they can do 50 bazillion DPSut ignore that they died in 2 seconds. Or mods that allow morons to not learn hot to play as its almost automated, that warns them if they stand in stuff, or mods that tell people what to do when.

This may e seen as an attack aganst you, but its not , its aganst all those that compare everygame to WoW.

If WoW was so awsome, go back to it.

*and to prove that every game does not have what your talking about, EVERY Pay2Play and Free2Play game i have played does NOT have what your are asking, only WoW, and Limited Warhammer Online, and i just checked the meager couple catagory mods of Rift. Yea nothing that is a " basic game feature ".

Just wanted to pop-in and agree with a lot of what Hell-In-A-Handbasket posted.

From what I can gather, the lack of (at least) the combat log was a conscious decision on the part of Bioware. They don't want people theorycrafting the game to death and reducing play of the game to a bunch of macros and auto-warnings and timers. If that's your idea of fun, this isn't your game.

Don't get me wrong, while I love the game and am having immense fun with it, it does have issues, the least of which are what you have listed (AH problems and lack of UI customization). There are many broken encounters (including the conclusion of Act 1 of the class quest for Imperial Agents and several of the end-game ops and flashpoints), bugged mobs, broken game mechanics (agent energy regen is broken, etc.) and other visual and audio bugs that, in my opinion, are much higher priority.

Wasn't even close, isn't F2P.

That is all.

Rift had millions of subs before it took a nosedive, AoC as well.

Give SWTOR time, and people will tire from the bugs, lag, and "quality" animations, not to mention the constraining nature of the Biodrones forums.

While I do not want to agree, I am inclined to.

When I did my first review, I was overly hyped. After hitting 50 and sitting there for two weeks, with next to nothing to do, (that wasn't just as repetitive, as everything else) I realized this is just like AoC and Rift. Well, maybe not exactly like AoC, but Rift. I understand there will be a "stubborn" fanbase who disagrees, due to being Star Wars fans, even I'm one, but I'm not blind to see this game still needs major work. I tried an alt, but I was just doing the same planets again, with just a different character story, which is just not enough to ask me to pay $15 a month for.

It sucks because I really wanted to love this game and continue playing it, but it just isn't there. I'll come back months down the road and see if anything has changed. I'm just upset that, in a game that took upwards of 6 years+ to make, there is only about a month and a half worth of content for a 'main' character. Maybe 3-4 months if you are into having 8 alts, running the same planets on a strict linear questing path.

Still thinking of getting it myself. From what I played in beta, it seems quite fun. A big reason I play WoW is for the story, which is something this excels in.

Man, you're so negative.

Bugs are being fixed - they seem to have been pretty great about patching the game so far. Admittedly I've not personally played since beta (just had other games on the menu), but I had few issues even then. Lag is something that pretty much can only get better, not worse.

Most people don't care about the forums. And of course they're not a free for all.

I hit 50 days ago, and there is still as much stuff to do in other games when hitting max level. So no idea what everybody is all up about regarding nothing to do.

I PvP in BG's and in the Open PvP Zone, run around and gather, there are also Heroics that i can do but as a tank im not confortable tanking those yet with current gear. There are also raids ( not done yet ) and World Boss's i have done.

NOTICE I DIDNT STATE THE GAME I REACHED MAX LEVEL IN

but its WoW / StarTrek Online and StarWars Online, each game @ max level is the same, welcome to MMO's, nothing new

Eh, no. Rift did not have millions of subs. Not in the real world anyway. In fact they did very poorly as far as subs went after launch. Their open beta was their biggest period.

AoC never had millions of subs either. Had a relatively good start, not even close to this though. And maintained a steady but slowly declining fan base since.

Btw just because a games doesn't have 12millions subs doesn't meant has failed or will go F2P. WoW is an exception, and the ony reason it is that big is because people play there because their friends play there. Not because they think it's that great. You'll also find its anything but bug free, yet it also survives.

So bugs or not, SWTOR will survive. It won't go F2P. For that to happen it'll need to drop below at least 300k. Which isn't happening, they're increasing. And are already bigger than anything but WoW.

Agreed i know personally and X-guildies from wow that only play because members of their family or friends play, and they like the playing with them aspect. And multiple that have quit because their family/friends quit.

The thing WoW has going for it its an easy fantasy game, familiar class's and races like elves, orcs, and dwarves. doesnt take a powerful computer to run, and friends can easially group with friends / family.

THAT is why wow is popular, not beacuse it did stuff right, as literally there is verry verry few things WoW came up with on its own

Yea Bioware even said to that extent.

They also said there will e a combat log in future patch, but it will be a basic log with no Export

Well that's disappointing. As I mentioned earlier in the thread I let my subscription lapse after hitting level cap because my server's population completely dropped off. I planned to re-sub whenever they got around to implementing a server transfer feature as I personally had no interest in re-leveling on a different server. My personal feelings on that is that I did the leveling thing once and I don't really want to do it again before I get to experience the endgame stuff. Last night however I learned that only one of my friends that picked up SWTOR is still playing it. Lame. Well at least I got to see someone on Justin.tv doing a stream of their guild's run through of the endgame content. It looked amusing.

There is still very little to do, that isn't repetitive.

I leveled up to Valor Rank 40, and have no desire to go any further, cause the warzones get kind of lame after awhile.

I did the hard modes, and they were pretty easy, and there is no reason for me to do them much more, because the PvP gear is just as good as the gear you get from them.

I did one raid, and it was OK. I didn't want to raid in this game though, as I thought there would be more to do outside of it. World bosses are also not difficult. We got our Magenta crystals done and got the pattern, as well.

And then there are dailies, and Ilum PvP, which are once again, repetitive.

All I wanted at the end game was more questing. Back when I used to play WoW, I remember when I did hit max, there was still hundreds of quests to be done. I enjoy that more than anything. I understand that it is more difficult in this game, due to voice-acting. But I would trade all that voice, for more quest content. As it stands, you are out of quests at 50. I am more of a main character person, not an "altoholic." And in less than two months, I have conquered most of what this game has to offer besides raiding, which I don't have an interest in.

I'm not saying this game won't get better, and won't survive. Never said that. I said as it stands now, it isn't worth $15 a month, unless you actually enjoy leveling alts through the same quests, just a different main story. That isn't worth $15 to me. Like I said, maybe months down the road they will have much more content to do. Maybe when they get a decent achievement system and more planets, and things like that (ie. timesinks) it will be worth it. When there is no side stuff to do, like that, well that takes the fun out. And more quests!

In WoW i have did all the quest and only dailys remain, i had all the PvP Gear, even had all the Raid Gear up untill i quit during Firelands.

The only problem is that you are expecting years worth of content, i played WoW in vanilla, and was around when the forsaken was truly

Undead and could speak Humanoid, and breath underwater. obviously you didnt.

You didnt run out of stuff in WoW beacuse ( im guessing and prolly not far off ) came in a couple expansions behind. Iv done 7 years worth of quests. And literally its go get this and go kill that. How is that not repedative. Go and kill this boss, vs go and kill that boss. How is that not repedative.

But guess because i dont fully agree with you im one of those " stubborn fanbase " players. No im not, im just not expecting multiple expansions worth of content out of the gate.

If " all you wanted was more questing " then you shouldnt have gotten a game on releace, ANY MMO on launch. Because you will run out of stuff to do. I was dead in the water in WoW untill Molten Core, and that was a good while after WoW came out. Wow launched with NOTHING as far as end game.

Achevement system,,,, WTF you need an achevement system for, this isnt Xbox Live. If you want an Achevement system go get a whiteboard and set it next to your computer and jot down a list of things to do, there is your Achevement system.

from a Vanilla Wow player, SWTOR has THE SAME wow had when it was launched, im not a fanboy, i just know how reality works and unrealistic expectations

http://www.wowwiki.com/Patches/1.x

Here is the patch notes, notice months later when the second raid was releaced, it was nto out at launch, but came close to 6 months later. molten Core the first raid ,was not out at launch. Neither was Ony, the psudo raid as it only was 1 boss.

ALL of Teir 1 and 2 droped randomly from MC, and there were not graphics for T2, just placeholders. Go find the origional Warlock T2, if its green Snake heads, its not Origional T2, the snake heads were done a LOOONG WAY AFTER.

It blows that i do not have screens anymore of the plaguelands, as they were roaming with lvl 100 infernals that one shot you as Plaguelands both east and west, were cloased as they were still building it.

So none of that WoW has tons of crap to do, WoW has tons of crap to do because it has YEARS WORTH OF CONTENT ALREADY. Stupid people arguing that a new game doesnt have as much as a game with 4 expansions and 8 years under its belt.

    • Forza Horizon 6 gets another hotfix for one of the game's online modes by Taras Buria Recently, Forza Horizon 6 players discovered an interesting glitch that allowed farming a crazy amount of in-game credits in a few minutes. Playground Games quickly pulled the plug on the exploit by disabling one of the game's online modes, and today, the studio is rolling out another hotfix. In my review, I complained about the game still showering gamers with cars, credits, and wheelspins. As such, earning money in Forza Horizon 6 is not a particularly difficult task. You simply have to play the game, crazy, I know. However, people still found an easier path to becoming a billionaire in Forza Horizon 6. All you had to do was purchase the Hummer EV, install a specific tune, shift in reverse while going at about 15 MPH, hit a wall, and get launched into the stratosphere at the speed of light. While mid-air, launch Eliminator and quickly get eliminated. Boom, the game just awarded you with a few million in-game credits. Initially, Playground Games disabled Eliminator to prevent people from farming credits. Now, following the release of the first balancing update, developers are rolling out a new update that re-enables Eliminator and gives users a free McLaren Sabre as a gesture of goodwill. Here is the changelog: One critical issue remains unpatched, though. There are quite a few reports of the game wiping gamers' saves, and developers are still looking into that. To avoid potential data loss, Playground Games recommends taking one of the steps outlined in a previously published support article.
