Hello guys,

I put some effort in this (that was why I wasn't 'spamming' the past few hours ) as I got myself familiar with the different types of internet connections.

Here is the result:

The 2011 Superpoll for your internet connections!

Also, feel free to add your SpeedTest.net and PingTest.net results.

They eliminate having to list a lot of local test sites, as they have a worldwide network of servers.

I myself connect like this:

Home: (35?/month) 16Mbit/s down; 800Kbit/s up; no cap; 3h traffic shaping Sundays, which I never got to realize (Y) - Pretty much get that:

University: Uuuh... can't remember exactly, but I guess it was something around 25Mbit/s I got via WiFi connection. (its what I got at least :))

Mobile: (comes with my home DSL connection) 7.2Mbit/s down; 5.6Mbit/s up (untested); 300MB cap (I'm sure my contract says 500, the website promotes 300 though... I shall have a look) - usually I have decent UMTS connectivity even on the train! (2h trips) (Y)

Back to spamming the forums again!

Back home in Hong Kong

Home: 1Gbit/s

Mobile: HSPA+ (LTE network has been rolled out since I was last in HK so)

Here in Daytona Beach

Home: 15Mbit/s

School: Dunno tbh, never tested the school network

Mobile: HSDPA

Sarcasm bypass.

But at least it comes cheap at 70$ a month!

Good Lord! :x

Internet is fast and cheap here in Bulgaria, especially in the larger cities like Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas.

At home we have 25 Mb/s with 2Mb/s upload (at least thats what we pay for :) ), speedtest:

On Uni I've been able to get >50Mb/s (symmetrical up/down) on a wired connection, WiFi is limited by the technology itself ;)

No data plan for mobile, standard 3G connection.

At home: 40Mbps (and I reach that speed)

At school: 10-ish Mbps shared for about every 30 PC's, so it's usually around 4.

Mobile: 100% EDGE-coverage, and HSPA in big cities.
