yeh seriously, get over it not coming to steam. i'd much rather it came to steam to keep things handy as I don't have origin, but in the end, when i'm actually playing the game - what i intend to buy it for - i'm not gonna care wether it's running through steam, origin or an old bag of warm **** sitting next to the computer

So I own all Battlefield games, played 1942 on the PC, but BF2 was my main game I played online. I have every singly game unlocked on the Veterans page with a rank of 8. The only game I don't own is the 2142 expanion pack.

I never got alpha access because I didn't meet the criteria. I also purchased MOH:LE as soon as I heard about the early access.

Now from my understanding each country region is going to get a different DLC weapons pack?

I feel like I've been sharfted and I fed up of being messed around.

It's now 2 months away from release and I still havn't seen Conquest or an vehicle warfare.

Yeah, read back a few pages i already whined about it.

Ive put all my games on Veterans the only one i havent got is Bad Company demo it shows me veteran 8 on the site but veteran 9 in game???. Its nothing to do with region its just DLC specific to certain retailers. I pre-ordered day one before they started announcing all these DLC incentives for the "veterans". Im pretty sure the veterans like me pre-ordered day one before they started to announce all these DLC.

They are showing conquest at Gamescom in a few weeks.

We'll see Conquest @ Gamescom

http://www.gamescom-cologne.com/en/gamescom/home/index.php

Also the beta will be conquest, and if you pre-ordered MOH or BF3, then you get 2 days earlier access to it than the rest.

Don't know anything about different regions getting different DLC  It's just some retailers give "special" pre-order bonuses like pointless weapon skins etc :)

I'm not convinced these things they have announced will keep people in the game. BF2 players had a hard time focusing on winning vs getting medals and ranks or fighting over a vehicle to get those stats!! Made me sick for all those years to watch it play out on every server. You also couldn't run your own server due to them being so damn expensive to rent cause they required you to get them from over charging server providers.

The cost of bandwidth and storage is so cheap it isn't even funny yet at game start you were looking at $3+ a slot to rent one and we all know a 64man server was an arm and leg to rent!!

If they require you to rent a "ranked" box the costs shouldn't be no more than 25cents per slot based on current costs of a Gig of bandwidth which is less than a penny right now according to reports.

So if I want all the DLC I will have to pre-order / purchase about 6 copies from 6 different stores? Really?

Just keeps getting better. I have a feeling MW3 is going to beat BF3 again in sales. Being a BF veteran I have zero interest in Rush / infanty only, yet that's what they show off first to attrack CoD fans over.

What's the point in being a Veteran on Battlefield besides only showing off a number? It has no meaning. Veteran of 1 gets you a shoddy unlock, great.

Are you sure you signed up for the proper newsletter and/or definitely signed up for it with the MAIN email address of your EA account?

Me having all of the issues getting the invite for the Alpha was taken care of once I signed up for the newsletter with my main EA account.

But yeah, no one ever really has said that the veteran status thing means much, so I would not put that much weight on it.

Also, I do not think anyone in their right mind thinks BF3 will beat MW3 in sales. It is a given MW3 will beat it.

I get spammed every month from EA with usless crap about sports games and junk, I'm pretty sure I'm subbed to the main EA newsletter. I also subscribed to the official BF3 newsletter when they were shouting out about it on Facebook. I then heard about the Alpha and didn't meet criteria. I then subbed again to the BF3 newsletter on the alpha website, refreshed cookies and tried again and still didn't meet the criteria.

Oh well, that's gone now anyway.

I understand that if you unlock BF expansions on the Veterans page after BC2 was released, it glitches in-game and shows them up.

Hence when you see people with 14 or more (16 max) you can tell who the idiots are who have lied to EA support to get them to force unlock them for their account by lying and say they own them.

Mine shows up as 9 also because I never registered (1942) Road to Rome, then when I did it showed up, even though I also have other expansions registered.

Since when are useless weapon skins or custom in-game dogtags DLC ? That you just MUST have? Why do you care about these?

I would have thought the Veteran 8 ranking and the fact that ive played every version of battlefield both console and pc including all the addons, dlc and booster packs would be reason enough.

I am was a Battlefield fan until all this specific retailer DLC nonsense, i am a Battlefield collector/completist and i reluctantly paid ?5 for the specact skins for BC2. I want all the "useless" weapons/skins/dogtags because i want the complete Battlefield experience.

heh..really? Forced?

When I first tried to register for Veteran with just a BF1942 key, it said code invalid. So I contacted Live help and the guy there just asked my account Email and platform and said he'll do it for me. Few minutes later I was Vet 5, didn't even ask for it and I certainly don't have all the games...

Guess they don't really care about this Veteran business at EA

Same happened to me with 2042 (all others were fine)... I called support and it was a back and forth hit and miss for some reason. He'd add and another would magically disappear.

I did have to provide photos of the serials on the back of the cd's for proof of ownership. I don't see how they could just take anyone's word for it.

At the end of the day, I check now and Vietnam is no longer reg'd for whatever reason. I tried to re-enter the key, but it's already in the system. SMH, I gave up... But I still show as "9" ingame as well.

damnit, I contacted ea support on a hunch and it seems my original eastore preorder of battlefield 3 doesn't get any of the pre-order bonus's they've added to the origin version afterwords. Thats a bit of a disappointment :(.

That's bull**** man. I'm going to contact them now! :@

It's been confirmed it's here to stay. There won't be an ingame server browser. It was confirmed on Twitter I think.

Hm, that's a bit of a bummer as I often find myself looking for a good server at times. This would probably force me to quit BF3 if I'd want to join a different server, wouldn't it?

Its not as much of a pain as you think, when you click to join a server it jumps straight to a loading screen and you are in, it doesnt load the game and go through loads of intro videos, nor does it take ages to quit, its no more slower than coming out of server actually ingame then loading a new server.

Errr now that I think about it. Yes in it's current state, you would need to quit the game to find another server...

Hm, that sucks IMO. It won't stop me from playing online though. But it makes the search for a good server quite the task.

I have no problem with it, since it jumps straight to the loading screen, and when you join it reserves your spot immediately, so its not like your spot will be taken before you load your game. I found it worked quite well and don't see how it will impede finding a good server.

    • First time clicking on a Sayan Sen article after he started making clickbait, vague headlines recently. Didn't read, just came here to say the headline doesn't look like very cheap, vague clickbait this time. Are you okay?
    • Good review, and yeah the benchmark breakdown is pretty clear but also a little messy in a good way. It’s kinda interesting to see where the RX 9070 GRE slides in between the 7800 XT and the 9070 XT , especially when it comes to AI tasks and Blender style workloads. The side by side with Nvidia’s RTX 5070 and 4070 makes it feel obvious just how competitive the mid range GPU scene has gotten lately, and that’s great for creators and gamers too since you can pick based on your priorities rather than only chasing one single thing.
    • That's it. I finally uninstalled Firefox because they often keep pushing buggy updates, only to test them later and make users suffer. No longer is it my alternative browser to Edge. What a waste of energy. Firefox is bad for the environment, just like Chrome (wasting RAM/energy).
