that's what i figured...so TDM really has no vehicles? why? a friend told me that but i didn't believe, wanted to ask my NWN brothers :D

Because TDM is based on run and gun scheme.

The big maps you see in Rush or Conquest are shorten up to provide the players a better opportunity to encounter an enemy faster.

I just can't get over how fast people are ranking in this game, it is almost making the ranks worthless and making the time played more important. In BF2, when you reached a 1 star general, it was like a huge success, and there weren't many. When I see Colonel's now, I think, you play this game a lot. :)

Same thoughts here.

Except for the BF2 part

@Muhammad Farrukh - I get it crashing about 5 mins in the screen freezes showing whatever i did last in BF3 and makes a "drrrrr" sound.

Trying now with just AMD High Def Audio only aswell.

Also had to re-input my windows key as on some sites its saying if you used a torrent of Win7 like I have (dont worry i use a legit key, i just have 4 hdds hooked up due to dj`ing and having a track collection thats a little big) then punkbuster will detect it as non-legit and boom crashes. So run a MBR regen tool and re-authenticated.

Going to go test it now see if its stable.

Just played for the first time in over 3 weeks I think it has been, I really only got to play on the week it was released. Such an incredibly fun game, even if I am only a Rank 5, can still enjoy it and it is very rare that I feel as if I was over powered. I am just ending up on the worse teams in the world.

Since I do tend to be in a tank, I naturally wind up battling other tanks. Unfortunately in the games I played, the other tanks always won the battle as they had engineers who realized to constantly repair them as they were in battle with another tank. To not just wait until the tank was below 50% health. I realize that may not be the most glamorous role out there, repairing a tank while they are doing battle with another tank, but it not only racks up that engineer repair points, it helps the team overall as it gives the tank on your team a fighting chance. Just a little vent on my behalf, but engineers truly play a critical role in the success of the ground vehicles, especially tanks, on their team.

Another little vent, do people just not know how to spot the enemy? Or do they just not care? To me, it is literally almost as natural as shooting the enemy. Before I shoot anyone, if I see them, I spot them. Just in case I wind up dying, etc., they are spotted for others to see. I am not talking about spamming Q hoping to spot people either, I am talking about when you clearly see the enemy, spot them. It only makes sense to me?

Play a 64p Metro conquest level with 2000 tickets on hardcore and you'll soon see how people level up so fast, if ur good (like me :p ) you'll be getting at least 15k+ points. I say hardcore and not normal, as iv found with hardcore, theres more chance of the US claiming B if you're in a good team making it more fun

My score per min is 479 at the mo

I completely agree that engineers are absolutely essential in the team work paradigm and undoubtedly people more often then not do not realise that a tank really is naked without an onboard engineer and gunner so I get you there completely. I know you said that you are primarily going to play this on PC but if you do decide to jump on ye old 360 me and a couple of buddies most that you probably know play this game how it is actually meant to be played(including spotting) and we have a blast in every game, I would love it if you could join us cos you are exactly the kinda guy we play well with and I miss the good ol days so if you can afford the time hit me up whenever and I will reintroduce you to the guys (Y)

Actually the above offer is open to all Neowinians playing on 360 that like to be part of a team if you are interested let me know here and I will make some space for you on my friend list :)

When do you get the MAV?

You will unlock it as you progress through recon although I cannot specifiy at what level.

No doubt my man, I was hanging out with massiveterra last weekend, and I told him how I missed playing with are old squad, you especially. Not trying to sound corny, but it is definitely the truth. (Y)

I will see if I can rent it through Gamefly the rental service I use, if for anything else than to play a night or two with you guys.

I'm intentionally not using the IRNV scopes on all my weapons anymore. I think it's gonna be nerfed in the upcoming update this week, and i start to rely on it so much that i suck without it.

It does feel like cheating, and i know its a real scope that exists in real life, BUT its not realistic that everyone would have a super expensive scope on their rifles. In reality only a few soldiers per division would even have one, and it would be the most important classes such as heavy gunner, or maybe sniper.

Is anyone else finding it easier to level up in BF3 compared to BC2? In BC2 I played since release day, and am only on level 38, however I?ve only been playin Bf3 since November 1st, and I just hit level 40, but I am doing better. My k/d ratio is over 100+ positive kills, while in BC2 my deaths are 1000+ more than my kills. So maybe I?m just much better in Bf3. I dunno,

But I?m loving It BF3.

Have never loved a game this much before.

Where was it said there would be an update this week?

For BC2 they usually put out their patches Tuesday night late for the US or Wednesday early for the EU. We'll see if they follow the same schedule for this game.

I'm kind of scared to see the balance changes, I don't think very much needs adjustment so it will be interesting to see what they do.

thanks i keep playing that and was like well where is it lol

get on battlelog http://battlelog.bat...d.com/bf3/gate/ you can track your unlocks.

Unlocked it and got the first service star in the beggining of the third round (Y)

So yeah, I agree

Yeah G36C is very good, though I wanna unlock the SG553 (I need another 60,000 in CO-OP), I think you have that on that last SP mission and seemed really nice there.

The SG553 is decent I guess, it has really short range though. I'd say it's on par with the g36c though.

Edit: Also, something that kind of steams my beans is that there is a news section in Battelog, yet it's not used to tell us there will be a patch this week or about the Back to Karkand stuff. If the point of battlelog isn't to have all the information integrated into one site for the players to look at then what's the point of even having it?

This is one of the things that's always bothered me with DICE. They make it hard to track down information because if you don't follow twitter or any of a half a dozen different EA sites you're not getting all the information that's being put out there.

Yep it is.

I'll unlock SG553 when I find someone to play with. No one plays with me :(

    • OpenAI and Broadcom unveil Jalapeño, a new AI chip built for LLM inference by Pradeep Viswanathan Image by OpenAI Thanks to the exponential growth of ChatGPT and other LLM-based applications, NVIDIA has grown from a $200 billion company into the first public company to reach a $5 trillion market cap. Even though hyperscalers such as Google and Amazon have their own mature AI accelerators, NVIDIA still dominates the AI infrastructure market with multiple generations of GPUs. Microsoft, OpenAI, and Meta remain among NVIDIA’s largest customers, while Google and Amazon continue to be significant NVIDIA customers as they serve AI workloads for customers on their cloud platforms. Today, OpenAI and Broadcom announced Jalapeño, OpenAI’s first custom “Intelligence Processor” designed specifically for large language model inference. The new chip is the first product from a multi-generation compute platform being developed by OpenAI. OpenAI highlighted that Jalapeño was built from the ground up for current and future LLM workloads, rather than being a general-purpose accelerator adapted for AI. Despite heavy competition from Gemini, Claude, Copilot, and others, ChatGPT remains the most used AI platform in the world. OpenAI mentioned that it leveraged its knowledge of how its models and products run at scale, including ChatGPT, Codex, the API, and future agentic AI systems, to design this new chipset. Its chip architecture reduces data movement while balancing compute, memory, and networking resources. Jalapeño will be deployed in production systems starting in late 2026; however, engineering samples are already running machine learning workloads in OpenAI’s labs at production target frequency and power. According to its internal testing, OpenAI claims this chip can deliver “substantially better” performance per watt, and a detailed technical report is expected in the coming months. While OpenAI designed the chip, Broadcom handled silicon implementation and networking technologies, including Tomahawk networking silicon, and Celestica is assisting with board, rack, and system-level integration. OpenAI pointed out that Jalapeño went from initial design to manufacturing tape-out in just nine months, which it claims is the fastest ASIC development cycle achieved for a high-performance advanced semiconductor. The company attributed the speed of development to its own LLMs, which were used during the chip design and optimization process. Broadcom CEO Hock Tan stated that the company's plan is to deploy the Jalapeño platform at a gigawatt scale with Microsoft and other partners starting in 2026. With Jalapeño, OpenAI joins Google, Microsoft, and Amazon to become a full-stack AI player. The company already develops models and products, and is now moving deeper into infrastructure, including chips, kernels, networking, scheduling, and deployment systems.
