XP Pro vs. Home

Recommended Posts

Home version has limited Network admin support (shares must be added with the aid of a script, Drive mapping is disabled) SMP support is disabled in Home and an array of Admin interfaces normally found in 2k or XP pro. Home is basically a dumbed down version of Pro which is supposed to be enough for the average user without the need for real Network management.

hope this helps

(thats also why its $100 cheaper) :p

And the interesting thing that M$ have done is that the Pro version includes EVERYTHING that the Home version includes [apparently]. M$ have never done this with a business home user OS before. This just means that anyone upgrading won't MISS NE features from the Home edition.
