Think I'll wait for 4.5 or something, 4.0 is far too much of a rush job for me. Thanks for heads up though.

Have you tried it? You should definitely give it a go, it's a great step up from 3.x

Does the RC update to this automatically - I know its not a big deal installing it but just wondering

I think my RC2 has auto-updated.

For all you folks running Firefox 4.0 RC2 you 'ARE' using the final. Barring no show stoppers in the next 24hrs Mozilla will declare that Firefox 4.0 is complete. There will be no further updates from RC2 to 'a so called Final'. That is exactly why Mozilla decided not to tag the build with the RC moniker so they wouldn't have to build a 'final' just to change the name. Both RC's were tagged as 4.0.

Does flash work smoothly or is still pretty bad like in the betas? I switched to Chrome because of that issue, but Chrome extensions are worse.

It works great, just make sure Firefox has hardware acceleration enabled.

How do I install this in ubuntu? I downloaded the above link but never know how to install these .bz2 files.

You can probably find some instructions here

Another topic about this?

Just downloaded this from the story on the front page.

As I stated in that thread. Will play guinea pig with this thing, again, but it probably won't stay installed very long, as usual!!

Just want to give Mozilla a few more downloads to count!!

I miss the omnibar

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/omnibar/

There it is.

Either install Addon Compatibility Reporter before trying to install Omnibar or disable compatibility checking manually (ask google), otherwise it will complain at the moment, but it's working fine, have been using it throughout all the betas.

    • Dude get a clue, LTSC is Enterprise, not even legal for consumers, and ESU is not mainstream support cycle, just an extended security updates period.
    • Nvidia is your issue more so than linux itself. I did used it for a while with an old 1060 3gb, but using propietary drivers was kind of messy.
