Features:

Next-generation graphics

Black Prophecy uses the latest in graphics technology to produce breathtaking visuals.

Fast-paced action combat

Black Prophecy is more action-oriented than a traditional space simulation. We are trying to avoid long travel times or other activities where the player isn't really doing anything.

Exciting Player vs. Player combat

Black Prophecy allows players to organize big PvP battles and also offers varied PvP missions.

Captivating Story

Black Prophecy's universe, story and background has been created by the award-winning Sci-Fi author Michael Marrak.

Modular ship design

Player ships are not sold as whole, but instead consist of modules like cockpits, wings, engines etc. All these modules are available in different shapes and sizes, which allows the players to customize their ships.

Item modification system

In addition to the modular ship design, players can also further customize their ships by adding modifications to their ship's modules and weapons.

Modular clan station system

Player clans can build clan stations that are expandable through a module system. Different modules add different functionalities to the station.

Resource system

Clans can fight each other to conquer resource stations.

Award and medal system

Similar to an achievement system, players can earn medals and awards for performing specific tasks.

Tactics system

Players can learn and execute breakneck flight maneuvers.

Story:

In the 26th century, mankind has expanded across the galaxy, yet only few of its colonies are controlled by Humans. The true rulers are the cybernetically enhanced Tyi and the biogenetically perfected Genides. Their striving for total control over all human species drives them into the territory of an ancient alien race that does not tolerate other cosmic civilisations: the ?Restorers?.

To survive this war and uncover the motives of the alien?s destructive behaviour, you are forced to join one of the two dominant human races. Their search for the origin of the Restorers becomes a race for survival of all three human species. [Source]

Factions:

The Tyi:

The Tyi-protectors were created after the first species wars and are the second superhuman species besides the Genides. Contrary to their genetically manipulated arch-enemies, they have completely devoted their bodies to cybernetics (at first as part of the project, later of their own will).

The trigger for the cybernetic project on Sabiador was its inhabitants' increasing fear of a retaliatory strike by the Genides that surpassed them both physically and mentally. The designation Tyi [pronounced Tai] is an abbreviation for Tactical Yeomen Inhabitants (T.Y.I.).

Almost a century after the creation of the first Tyi-protectors, the burning desire for independence awoke in this new human species that was already in the millions ? it peaked in the so-called cybernetic exodus. Many of the Tyi created on Sabiador traveled through space and founded the now powerful colonies Atebathos, Murna and Irata IV.

The Tyi have superhuman strength and endurance. They are resistant to radiation, have independent bloodstreams as well as backup organs, speak all languages and are true multitaskers. They also gather and process data at an increased rate. [Source]

The Genides:

To better deal with the unusual and sometimes hostile environments in space and on the colonial planets, the colonists started long ago to manipulate selected test subjects physically and sometimes psychically. The initial successful experiments were probably carried out on colony ships shortly before the Second Diaspora. Depending on preference, the manipulations took the form of cybernetic implants, technological extremities and artificial organs, while others preferred to restrict their studies to the many possibilities of biogenetics.

The graceful Genides were the first of the two new human species to be created on Sabiador. They need virtually no sleep, their wounds heal quickly and they are capable of telepathic communication. Most of them are also resistant to illness, their thought processes are faster, they can hear in ultrasonic and infrasonic frequencies and have a long life expectancy.

After the first Species Wars and the expulsion of the Genides from Sabiador, six million refugees made their new home on the planet Delta Pavonis II (d-Pav II). The Genides renamed the planet Geneera and developed into a considerable commercial and economic power.

The new generation of Genides are aesthetically pleasing. Their heads and bodies are almost entirely hairless (apart from the eyebrows ? retained for aesthetic reasons), as they consider body hair an evolutionary irrelevance.

Genid society is based on a feudal, pre-modern, aristocratic culture with a heavy emphasis on military organization in the face of the constant threats that it faces from the Jadd Baran and the Tyi. [Source]

It's looks awesome, and I will definitely try it.

but I just don't see why a space combat game needs to be an MMO, or even should be. it'll just be freespace with players everywhere and instead of a single cohescent story you'll get repetitive missions that lead nowhwere. and I don't see how it adds to the multiplayer aspect over just plain multiplayer, perhaps with a global metagame (like what they did witht he Total Annihilation RTS back in the day).

Personally, I want Privateer back. a simple straight forward Wing Commander space combat game, with a simple trade level in it.

But I'll see if they provide a simple nice space combat at least, that has been lacking for over a decade now. but I don't see how an MMO can provide a good story like WC,Privateer and Freespace. Which for a game as simple as a space combat sim is kind of important. imho.

the game itself is fun, and for the start of it, there's sort of a story, though it's not exactly WC quality storytelling and cut scenes :)

but the fighting seems fun and good classic space fun enough, only tried with a mouse yet, but it works very well.

How come I cant login to play? I already created an account for myself..

I downloaded the EU version instead of the US version, you would think it wouldnt matter much.... Now I gotta re-download 5+ GB

Do you have a beta key? So far, that's the only way to play the game in North America. That, and asking someone in Europe to create and activate an account for you. I don't know if the latter is actually true but I'll let you know if it works as soon as I find out.

Oh wow, Had this installed for a few days and wasn't really motivated to try it, I thought I'd have a quick 30 minutes before work this morning and damn!! I was nearly late for work! - I really like the feel of the space ships, I can't wait to go on it again later and try some missions out

I was able to play by having someone activate my account in Europe. Thanks again (you know who you are :)). Anyway, I haven't been able to play a lot of it so far. I don't have my own ship yet either. So far, it's enjoyable. It's not an easy game though. I had a hard time taking out enemy ships with a turret. I imagine it would be harder with a ship.

    • Microsoft's fast coding model MAI-Code-1-Flash comes to Copilot Business and Enterprise by Karthik Mudaliar Microsoft’s recently announced MAI-Code-1-Flash model is now generally available to GitHub Copilot Business and Copilot Enterprise customers. With this support, organizations can have more centralized policy controls and billing while finally being able to use Microsoft’s lightweight, first-party coding model. According to GitHub’s announcement, Business and Enterprise plan administrators must enable the MAI-Code-1-Flash policy in Copilot settings before developers can access the model. Microsoft says that MAI-Code-1-Flash is for fast, iterative coding work rather than the most demanding architectural or debugging tasks. GitHub’s official model comparison page says that the model is great for "general-purpose coding and writing," while it excels at fast, accurate code completions and explanations Microsoft introduced MAI-Code-1-Flash on June 2 as part of a broader collection of internally developed MAI models. GitHub subsequently expanded support to Copilot CLI, the Copilot cloud agent, GitHub.com chat, GitHub Mobile, Visual Studio, JetBrains IDEs, Eclipse, and Xcode, but said support for managed Business and Enterprise customers was still on the way. In Microsoft’s own benchmark testing, MAI-Code-1-Flash scored 51.2% on SWE-Bench Pro, compared with 35.2% for Anthropic’s Claude Haiku 4.5. Microsoft also claimed that the model used up to 60% fewer tokens on SWE-Bench Verified. Do note that these are vendor-run results rather than independent measurements. The model is billed at provider list pricing under GitHub’s usage-based system. GitHub currently lists MAI-Code-1-Flash at $0.75 per million input tokens, $0.075 per million cached input tokens, and $4.50 per million output tokens. For organizations, the main incentive to use MAI-Code-1-Flash is likely to be efficiency rather than maximum capability. A smaller model that responds quickly and limits unnecessary output is quite useful for repetitive agent tasks at scale, especially after GitHub Copilot’s move toward usage-based billing. The "Flash" model is recommended for fast work and not necessarily for huge repositories with loads of context. It's better if teams compare their output with other larger models, especially if they're working on security-sensitive changes and complex, multi-file work.
    • yes AND no the "original" or plain/normal Optiplex 7010 won't be getting any more new firmware updates BUT the Optiplex SFF/SFF Plus {small form factor}, Micro/Micro Plus & Tower/Tower Plus 7010 editions DO get new updates such as this new one   and here are similar guides from the Dell web site for Dell systems: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000390990/secure-boot-transition-faq https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000347876/microsoft-2011-secure-boot-certificate-expiration
