The Rats Will Play, At Philly Restaurants

Recommended Posts

"Inside Edition's" Rat Patrol spent more than a week in Philadelphia capturing video of rodents inside some of your favorite eateries.

From a steak shop to higher end restaurants, when the lights turned off, the rodents came out.

Using just a flashlight and standing outside, Inside Edition producers found the problem is widespread.

One video was from Ted's Montana Grill on South Broad, where rodents were seen on four different nights running through the kitchen, to go boxes and condiments.

Days later cleaning crews were inside, along with many rodent traps.

A rep for the chain says, "the recent discovery of a small number of mice in our restaurant has us greatly concerned. We've taken immediate steps to address this matter."

Just down the block, a similar problem at Mama Mia's Pizzeria.

Mice were in the dining room on several nights in a row. One even stopped for a close up.

After this was taken, the restaurant says it's doing everything in their power to make their pizzeria a clean and safe restaurant. And a recent city inspection found no rodent problems.

And look who came for dinner at Cosi on South 15th street. They're known for their popular flatbreads. But there were guests where they prepare them.

The manager and company representative said they were not aware of any problems.

And this rodent didn't have reservations at the popular restaurant Lascala's on Chestnut street and the same at Ishkabibble's cheese steaks on South Street.

Both say they're doing what they can to control the problem.

Mark Coopersmith with peerless pest control says he's not surprised about the problem. With the old age of buildings, access points and lots of food around, rodents are tough to control.

"Philadelphia is loaded with steam pipes underground that go back a hundred years all the access points is all there it's impossible to seal them out."

We want to be clear, there were no reports of people getting sick at these restaurants. All of the restaurants were chosen at random.

    • I know I won't ever be using it to make my game. I'd rather pay humans.
    • Nah. For every indie dev that needs to create code for "stuff" or textures, it's a godsend enabler to possibly tackle a project that you may not otherwise. The end result and testing will tell the truth if everything works or doesn't, or a game is just mediocre slop, but now these tools are now there and it's the developer's duty to judge the outcome, and even more so for pro studios. And you gotta remember that they will be at an early stage.
    • whoosh my comment went over your head. Enjoy your notchless 3:2 OLED device
    • As a game dev, today was really depressing. They announced that Blueprints will be deprecated in UE6 to be fully replaced by their sh**ty Python-like Verse language... They also announced that 5.8 will be the last version of UE5 until UE6 comes out in MID 2029!!!! They have completely lost the plot.
