True that. But you can not deny the mockups make firefox a look-alike of chrome

The only thing you can say is that chrome had that shape first, but it wasn't invented by google... anyway i don't like it,luckily if we want we can get rid of them with some userstyle :)

Something wrong with Flash and the latest Nightly here .. keep getting this message ..

For your safety, Firefox has disabled your outdated version of Flash. Please upgrade to the latest version.

Uninstalled , updated and double-checked ..

Ah .. it's the latest AdBlock + I think!!

Any idea when the download manager and/or speed dial will hit nightly? Can't believe it's taking so long. Do Mozilla have one person working on their graphics or something?

They think using those curvy tabs, make it look prettier? Maybe it may look better if they had tabs for inactive borders as well, but it looks unorganized IMO without having a tab for unactive tabs as well. Instead they just have the favicon with just text. It looks awful on Windows.

Thanks for the info btw.

New Tab Page is already in Nightly and I think it is now deault to compatible now. As far as Download Manager is concern, it may land in mid development of FF13 or maybe next week.

For some reason, I'm still not seeing it. My new tab page still opens as a blank page. Any way to change turn it on?

Edit: Looks likes it is a conflict with TabsMixPlus. Keeping it on because I need TMP more than the bland new tab page.

Use dev build of TMP, and in the tmp options go to Events > New Tabs > Load on new tabs = New tab page. Make sure address is set to about:newtab. That should make it work.

I think God made us so that we like "curves" more ...

I love "curves" on some "things" but just doesn't look great to me on Firefox tabs. :) Chrome's doesn't seem to be bad, but these I guess seem a bit odd. I guess it can grow on me though. Not having "tabs" and just text for the inactive tabs though may take awhile to adjust. I was trying out the Australis add-on for Windows and I really didn't care for the inactive tabs. Although I do plan on getting a iMac soon and Mac's version looks nicer.

Just updated to Firefox 11 Beta, can't find any info about it though?

Do a quick google/bing search for "firefox beta 11" news and there will be plenty of articles describing some of the top features and changes. Not hard is it?

In this thread, you are mostly going to find us talking about the Nightly build anyway.

Highlights

  • To quickly edit the outerHTML of an element, we have now added support for element.outerHTML.
  • The Battery API
  • Storing files in IndexedDB
  • Support for loop attributes for media elements
  • SPDY (off by preferences)
  • WebSockets no longer needs a prefix when you call them

doesn't matter if it does there are plenty of themes to make the tabs square again.

While it's not something I'm all too sore about, I just found it curious. The other thing I was curious about is why they suddenly want window controls that look different from the default Windows ones.

And on that note, is there a bug to fix the position of the windows controls in the current Nightly? The buttons are just a pixel or two too far to the right. Seems to be a result of fixing the size of the window borders, which were once too thick.

I believe there is. I don't recall the ticket number, but it was mentioned on the ticket that originally caused it.

they are :/ try seeing which platform from they file the bugs , also the arewefastyet.com runs on Mac systems...

The San Francisco Bay area (Mountain View, to be specific), where many in Mozilla are, is a somewhat Mac-centric area.

I don't think it has a huge effect though - it's not like the majority market could or would be ignored, plus many of the contributors are not employees. Mostly, it just means OSX gets a bit more of a focus than might normally be expected.

    • Thanks, Sony and Nintendo, you effectively killed platform-agnostic gaming. Long gone are the days when you could wish to play a specific game on whatever platform you were. Now, you have to buy the hardware just to play that single game. What, you're only interested in THAT game and nothing more? Bad luck, suck it and buy our console.

    • "CRAZIER than ever!" Crazy Taxi: World Tour is officially coming soon by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Sega announced it is working on bringing back some of its classic franchises in 2023, and while it has taken some time, the company finally gave fans a look at one of these new projects at the Xbox Games Showcase today, which turned out to be a brand-new Crazy Taxi entry. Watch the debut trailer above, which has snippets of gameplay in between the cinematic bits while blasting a track from The Offspring. Dubbed Crazy Taxi World Tour, this installment is aptly being described as being "CRAZIER than ever!" The director behind the original, Kenji Kanno, is helming this new entry as well, which will come with access to five new cities to drive in, competitive multiplayer modes, a vehicle customization system, and more. Axel is returning as a protagonist as well, but this time a mystery driver is offering him the opportunity to take his adventures to the streets in other countries. This will involve Axel chasing down masked villains that have somehow stolen his taxi, which means even more extreme missions and challenges to overcome. "From transporting passengers at top speed to tackling unique side missions and odd jobs across dynamic maps, there are countless ways to drive crazy and rake in big money," says Sega about this new installment after over 20 years. "Perform outrageous drifts, catch insane air, and drive at crazy speeds across five different cities as you work to deliver passengers and complete a variety of missions and challenges." The studio has even confirmed an in-game Arcade Mode that players will be able to access containing the original games for plenty of nostalgic action. Crazy Taxi: World Tour is currently slated to release sometime in 2027 across PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2.
    • This and Crazy Taxi are the two games that interested me the most from this showcase.
    • Good, because the nonstop chattering from the voices in her head made me quit the second game.
