It works fine as HTTPS  the problem is that ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/ doesn't work with anonymous login anymore.  It stopped working a couple of days ago. Attempts to access the server using FTP returns an error 550 Permission Denied?

It's pretty much explanatory then, no?

Yeah, use the web access, they've been trying to deprecate the FTP server for years.

Mozilla dont like people using ftp://ftp as it puts to much LOAD on the servers so using https://ftp makes more sense as it doesnt put load on the servers , thats been known for years, infACT IF THE mODS HERE HAD ANY SENSE, THEY'D edit FTP://FTP LINKS out of peoples posts

If you use the custom title bar colors, it looks a bit weird also.

This code fixes that

@-moz-document url(chrome://browser/content/browser.xul) {
  @media (-moz-os-version: windows-win10) {
    #main-window:not([tabsintitlebar]) #toolbar-menubar,
    #main-window:not([tabsintitlebar]) #TabsToolbar {
      -moz-appearance: none !important;
      background-color: white !important;
      margin: 0 !important;
    }
  }
}

This code only works, if you are using Windows titlebar. Replace "white" with another color or color code.

This code will do the same and use current OS titlebar color, meaning, if you have modified/tweaked your windows titlebar to be colored, Firefox will also offer the same titlebar/menubar look.

@-moz-document url(chrome://browser/content/browser.xul) {
  @media (-moz-os-version: windows-win10) {
    #main-window:not([customizing]){
      -moz-appearance: -moz-win-glass !important;
      background-color: transparent !important;
    }
  }
}

Given your InputPersonalization.exe Runtime Error problem, that would be hard to link here

That's unrelated.

Neither Edge, Internet Explorer, nor Chrome has this problem.

Obviously, without the keyboard, I am not able to input any text! Duh.

Firefox 41 beta has dropped! I use the beta channel since it has had a 64-bit version for a while now.

Interesting...

"Memory overhead of AdBlock Plus has been greatly reduced"

I use uBlock Origin so not sure if that will have any effect for me.

Only affects AdBlock Plus since uBlock Origin doesn't use the Adblock filters like Adblock Plus.

There's probably good reason to blacklist it. There's reports the 353.62 drivers are killing some LCD panels on Windows 10.

From reading that thread it looks like that' just affecting certain panels on laptops? Or is it more widespread.

In any case I've been using the 353.62 driver since day 1 and have had no issues (thankfully).

Samsung and LG panels. For example if you're running one of those Korean 1440p monitors (like the Qnix which uses a Samsung panel), you shouldn't use 353.62 due to the possibility of this issue.

How do you think the content blocking addons work? The browser calls into their code for every single resource load.

That's the point, Safari native content-blocking (ships with iOS 9) doesn't. There's no continuous interaction between the browser and the addon, no slow javascript code, no giant RAM-wasting stylesheets. It takes the filters directly from the add-on and does the handling itself, a bit like Microsoft TPL lists but with more complex rules.

    • The current Statcoungter desktop numbers has Google Chrome increasing it's market share this past year and currently commanding 75% share. Everybody else is just making up the numbers with even MS Edge losing 3% this past year and has dipped just below 10% share which is staggering considering it's default on every Windows deviced purchased. If these numbers are correct that terrible Edge number is both devastating and embarrassing for MS especially when you add in the terribly low Bing market share. This leads me to ask a couple of questions as the default browser holding just less than 10% market share seems really weird. It used to be that all Chromium browsers were being counted as Google Chrome in some cases.  Is this still happening? Do these high Google Chrome numbers contains some Edge user numbers?
    • Yeah, all web browsers seem to have some junk in them these days. The regular Brave browser has a lot of unnecessary stuff in it, similar to Microsoft Edge, so I don't see any benefits of using Brave over Microsoft Edge if you already have Microsoft Edge fully set up with ad blockers and that. The cleanest or best free browser outside of 'Microsoft Edge' I’ve tried so far is 'Samsung Browser'. It has very little bloat and is a nice-looking web browser with an inbuilt 'Ad blocker'. I also really like the web browser called 'Floorp' that is based on Firefox. This browser can also install Chrome extensions. I have a system wide Ad blocking program for Windows 11 that doesn't just blocks ads in the web browser, but over the whole system. I don't really need a web browser with an inbuilt ad blocker because of that.
