Dwarden, you guys manage to figure out the broken missions with people not being there, objectives not showing up etc? if you can promise this one won't have those issues i'll get it. i really wanted to like Arma II but honestly that game was a mess, sorry to say.

Arma 3, now even with worse code than Arma 2! (If this is in any way possible)

Seriously, why do people get such a hard on for Arma 2 when it was most likely one of the buggiest, crappiest, worst coded trash that came out for the PC in the last few years?

That may be the case - but no other game offers the same experience once you fully grasp the advanced nature of ARMA.

I agree, they really should focus more power on bugtesting and overall user experience.

I wonder if its the same engine or updated though, I REALLY WANT TO GET RID OF THE FIRE BUG AMONG SO MANY OTHER ERRORS.

Dwarden as I have mentioned before please take a look at HalfLife2/Counterstrike as to how a menu and interface should be built and get rid of your own.

And last but not least take a look at ACE2 for inspiration for more advanced features, its not like you care about the steep learning curve as it is now.

I will buy this game regardless of how little you listen to the community though ;D

I never played a modern era Call of Duty or any ARMA games but when I look at ARMA I wonder why people make a big deal over CoD games. Maybe they should try to make a console version after the PC (no console ports).

I like both of them, but ARMA has a steep learning curve and its a much slower paced game which can put a lot of people off I think.

I also dont think a console version is possible, the map is too big and the features too advanced - there are limits to how much you can fit to a joypad.

Try comparing Battlefield2(PC) and then Battlefield: Bad Company - it really shows that the latter was made with consoles in mind.

Im not saying they are bad, I love them both but a console truly does have its limits.

Obviously there are areas where consoles outperform PCs (I am looking at you XBL LIVE)..

as the person behind the MP redesign since 1.55 i can assure You we will improve the UI to be more streamlined and simpler

but for sure we will not adopt anything like in TF2 or similar ... we use our own way

what fire bug? if you mean the huge one in missions then that's some mission script going wild

I just want to say since Dwarden is from Bohemia Interactive, not sure if you had anything to do with Joint Ops, but to this day I think it is one of the most criminally overlooked PC MP games to ever exist. It was the first game that brought large scale battles. Had some truly epic moments on it.

I still really want to pick up Arma II actually, for you guessed it, DayZ. Also if there is anyway to be included on the press list/beta list for Arma III, by all means let me know how. Would love to hype it up on our podcast.

QuickView 6.8.1 release notes: Dynamic Island, Filmstrip Gallery, Custom Hotkeys & Size Optimization QuickView v6.8.1 introduces redesigned window controls, an interactive filmstrip gallery, dual-mode slideshows, fully customizable hotkeys, and substantial binary size optimizations. Changelog: Floating 'Dynamic Island' Window Controls The window controls have been redesigned for a cleaner interface. Floating Capsule Pill (#199): Replaces traditional window controls with a floating pill-shaped widget in the top-right corner. Includes hover glow transitions. Compact Size: Reduced the size of caption buttons to maximize screen space for images. Interactive Filmstrip Gallery The filmstrip gallery has been redesigned with improved controls and animations. Top-Hover Trigger: Hover near the top edge to expand the filmstrip gallery. The trigger mode can be set to Hover, Pinned, or Disabled via the Settings menu. Auto-Centering Scroll: Selecting a thumbnail triggers a smooth scrolling animation that aligns the item to the center of the bar. Visual Refinements: Corrected visual gaps when pinned, fixed zoom anchor offsets, and restored smooth horizontal auto-scrolling. Dual-Mode Slideshow Spotlight Mode: Added a slideshow mode inspired by Picasa Spotlight, which dims the background and focuses on the active image. Normal Mode: Standard fullscreen slideshow functionality. Fully Customizable Hotkeys Custom Keyboard Mapping: Added support for completely customizing and rebinding all core keyboard shortcuts and navigation hotkeys directly within the Settings menu. UI/UX Adjustments & Window Snapping Magnetic Snapping (#90): Window borders now snap to screen edges (100% magnetic snap) when resized. Responsive Toolbar (#194): Toolbar buttons automatically hide based on the window width and active mode. Timeline Scrubbing: Implemented debounced asynchronous seeking for animated formats, providing smooth scrubbing without timeline lag. Fixed frame count and distortion issues on large GIF seeking (#197). Extended Mouse Mapping (#191): Added support for mapping multi-function mouse side buttons in settings. Archive Sorting (#193): Added an option to always sort archives by name ascending. Footprint Compression & Size Optimizations Reduced the binary size of the standalone executable by removing redundant templates and dependencies. C++ Stream Elimination: Removed dependencies, saving approximately 18.5 KB. Localization Deduplication: Consolidated localization string tables, saving 10.5 KB by preventing template duplication. Vector Icon Compression: Compressed static vector icon coordinates to 16-bit integers, saving 54 KB. Code Devirtualization: Replaced std::function callbacks with C-style function pointers and devirtualized core controllers to reduce overhead. LTO Debug Fix: Removed obsolete compiler flags (/MERGE:.rdata=.text) from Link-Time Optimization (LTO) builds to fix minidump crash debugging. Decoding & Memory Fixes Hybrid Allocation: Implemented a hybrid memory allocator to balance preloading and tile rendering. Access Violations: Fixed crashes when rapidly switching images. HDR in Archives: Resolved an issue where HDR images decoded from ZIP/RAR archives lost their peak luminance metadata or failed to render in float format. WebP, AVIF & JXL (#195): Fixed shadow transparency glitches in WebP/AVIF and image distortion in JPEG XL. • There was a Spider-Man game back in the day that had these as well. When other people played, they got gamer ads. When I played, I got ads for Visual Studio on the billboards in the city.
