Microsoft offers new wallpapers as "a little something for Windows Insiders"

Windows 10 won't fully launch until next year, but in the meantime, legions of developers, fans and other early adopters have begun testing the new OS in the form of a Technical Preview released last month. Microsoft recently pushed out its latest update for those using the Preview, bringing the build number up to 9860.

As a small token of its appreciation, Microsoft has released a trio of special background wallpapers, bearing an "I'm a Windows Insider logo". The images also feature little references to Windows 10, that are perhaps only obvious on a second glance.

Microsoft has made the backgrounds available in five sizes:

  • 1280x1024px
  • 1920x1080px
  • 2560x1920px
  • 2560x1600px
  • 3840x2160px

Work is continuing behind the scenes on putting together the next build of the Windows 10 Technical Preview. But Windows fans will no doubt welcome the fact that Microsoft has acknowledged their efforts in test-driving its new OS with this small gesture.
