Saints Row: The Third Remastered confirmed for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4

Confirming several circulating rumors, Deep Silver today announced Saints Row: The Third Remastered. The popular open-world action game will arrive to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 with a fresh coat of paint next month, May 22. See the announcement trailer with its showcase of comparison clips above.

The remaster is being handled by Sperasoft, with every weapon, car, and a large portio of the city receiving a complete makeover with redesigns and retextures. Over 4000 assets of the 2011 released title have been updated to match current console standards, featuring updates to the environments, character models, visual effects, and even a new lighting engine.

The remaster will come included with the Genkibowl VII, Gangstas in Space, and The Trouble with Clones expansions as well as the over 30 DLC packs that the original game received.

Playable in solo or co-op, Saints Row: The Third's release marked the franchise's move into a more over the top, humorous setting. Here's a short description taken from its store page:

Years after taking Stilwater for their own, the Third Street Saints have evolved from street gang to household brand name, with Saints sneakers, Saints energy drinks and Johnny Gat bobblehead dolls all available at a store near you. The Saints are kings of Stilwater, but their celebrity status has not gone unnoticed. The Syndicate, a legendary criminal fraternity with pawns in play all over the globe, has turned its eye on the Saints and demands tribute.

Saints Row: The Third Remastered will be landing at $39.99 and is now available for pre-purchase on the Epic Games Store for PC, also confirming exclusivity. Pre-purchase options for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 should be landing shortly.
