Samsung's new flip phone is powered by a Snapdragon 808, 2GB RAM and has a 16MP camera

Last month we covered a device by LG that melded modern smartphone tech with old school flip phone styling. Today, Samsung has announced the SM-G9198, an Android flip phone that melds high-end specifications with a very elegant look.

The SM-G9198 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 2GB RAM and has two 3.9-inch Super AMOLED displays. The device will also have a 16MP rear camera, a 5MP front-facing camera and16GB of storage with expandability via microSD. The phone will be powered by a 2020mAh battery. Looking beyond the powerful specifications, Samsung has designed the SM-G9198 to look elegant borrowing styling cues from the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and Note 5.

While this is without a doubt the best flip phone you can purchase to date, the chances of it being available outside of Asia are slim. But, for those looking to purchase the device, there will no doubt be a wide variety of third party vendors offering the device outside of Asia.
