Windows 8 is too social oriented

Windows 8 is too social oriented.

When having a local (Outlook-) file, I would say that People, Calendar etc would be seen in the native Windows 8 apps/tiles.

This is not the case and cannot be controlled somehow.

Like in the thread... I do have an iCloud account in which my calendar and contacts/people reside. Can I use/import these into the Windows 8 apps?

I have installed iCloud Control Panel, but than iCloud won't show up as account connect-settings in Win 8 Calendar.

So will there be (third party) programs/plugins that will make this possible?

(because ? don't like everything 'clouded up')

Basically to link the Outlook pst file (calendar, contacts) to the Windows 8 build-in thingies? (iCloud in my case can also be....)

I just think that all of this social stuff will seem like an incredible mistake if anything happens to the social sites.

Granted it's very unlikely for facebook, there was a time when you wouldn't have expected myspace to go anywhere.

Imagine if OS makers had jumped on the myspace bandwagon really early, and we had myspace buttons everywhere in our OS and apps. There would be totally redundant social buttons everywhere in Windows 7 even!
