Man shoots girlfriend over 'Walking Dead' argument

Recommended Posts

So that justifies letting everyone have a weapon?

What scares me more is you think killing someone is justified in most situations.

Someone breaks in. Kill them.

Someone mugs you. Kill them.

Someone tries to rape you. Kill them.

There are alternatives, rape alarms, pepper spray, etc..

It's a rather cost effective way to remove criminals from society. Or maybe we should live in another world.

Someone breaks in. Serve them cookies and assist them with a cart.

Someone mugs you. Ask them if they'll give you a ride to the hospital.

Someone rapes you. Give them your phone number.

i honestly believe anyone that shoots someone over an argument other than having the privilege of weapon ownership taken away should be required to seek psychological help.

And

Someone applies for a job. Put them in binders?

*facepalm*

Just... no.

Just no what? facepalm what?

Nobody's saying that you have to be nice to them, but the point that's lost on a lot of gun nuts is that just because you can legally take someone's life in that situation doesn't mean you have to. For many gun nuts, extreme violence seems to be seen as a first resort when to any reasonable person it should be a last resort.

Back again with your lies and circular logic I see.

You claim he cant predict the future, yet neither can you, despite your claims that he and every other gun owner is going to snap and kill someone.

In fact he is a far better advocate for his future than you ever will be, he controls his actions, I believe him far more than anyone else when it comes to "predicting" his future actions.

I can't decide whether you fail at reading or just have the comprehension skills of a 5 year old. Of course I can't predict the future, I never said I could. The difference between King and I is, I'm aware I can't predict the future and know that anything can happen.

Or you could just learn something and take his.

Or he could learn something and take mine? Grow up.

I wont commit to trying to comb through all of his posts, but I don't believe KingCracker or anyone here advocates outright killing someone as a goal in a self defense scenario, in any situation where a firearm is used in self defense, you shoot only with a goal of stopping the threat, nothing more.

I beg to differ. It's actually quite clear that most (not all) gun nuts around here would immediately shoot to kill and have no qualms claiming as such. For a variety of reasons including but not limited to, breaking into their homes, attempting to mug them, attempting to take away their firearms (even if it's agreed by law they are no longer a "right")...the list goes on and on.

DING DING DING! Thank you for finally stating the obvious. I was waiting for one of the gun nuts to figure it out and maybe actually say "Hey look, this is a last resort for me!" but they never do.

I apparently give them way too much credit!

Ding, ding? Let me enlighten you all on why Javik is completely off the mark. First of all Responsible gun owners are taught not to use deadly force unless they absolutely need to. Secondly he triesd to paint us as crazy people thatwill shoot first and ask questions later no matter the situation which is hyperbol at its greatest. He'll point to news stories and he'll call us nuts but the reality is that there are at-least 84,000,000 legal gun owners in the U.S now if we really all nuts and blood thirsty the U.S would make a bad day in iraq look like a picnic. Wouldn't we all be shooting it out on the streets? But that simply doesnt happen. Not to mention states with the fewest gun laws have a lower crime r

rates. Washington DC's crime rate fell after the hand gun ban was lifted. Javiks flawed logic is flawed.

It's idiots like this that makes the lives of us Pro gun types hard, there's no excuse for him shooting his girlfriend, no Castle Doctrine is going to override sense and logic in this situation. I would love to be on the jury to make sure this idiot goes to jail and never is legally able to own a firearm, he's too stupid to own a cap gun, let alone the real thing

Except that it's not flawed and nothing you said enlightened anyone. You and the others constantly bip off about how you would shoot on sight the second anyone does anything you believe is a threat to you. This "blood thirsty" paintbrush you keep talking about is something you guys have painted yourselves with. No one did it for you. What is enlightening though, is watching you go from spastic "DON'T TOUCH MY GUNS!" to "Let me enlighten you guys..." like someone with bipolar disorder. Sounds to me like you should own a gun...*nod*

Really? If we advocate shooting someone for any old reason then why haven't the majority of people supported the guy that shot the kid for playing his music to loud or the guy that executed the two intruder's that came into his house ? No one would unless they're trying to provoke a response would support such actions. No one in their right mind would support what those idiots did especially not me or any other gun owner on this forum or any other forum I know of and yes I do hang out on gun forums a lot and I know the responses people would give to stories like these and its not support they would respond with.

Fact is 84,000,000 people didn't kill anyone yesterday and they wont kill anyone today. It's not a warzone and yes you anti gunners try to paint us like we're some crazed lunatics with guns when in reality we're not.

Really? Maybe you should check out some of the responses in that thread. Please don't insult my intelligence. I can read.

Like I said, the only ones that would support such actions are trolls. But yep you take that as EVERY gun owner supports the actions of idiots. If you believe that then yeah I question your intelligence.

Convenient that you disavow the other pro-gunners when it suits you.

When it suits me? What are you talking about. What vocal pro gunner on here supported their actions? Did I? Did supportgeek? Did Docm? The other people I don't know they can come out of left field and troll you just to provoke a response. If you really want to get a handle on how gun owners actually think you might want to take a trip to a place called calguns.net go there and see if you find any blood thirsty shoot first lunatics..

Then why are there so many news articles week in week out reporting shootings by 'responsible' gun owners over trivial matters, such as playing music too loud, etc..

84,000,000 of them a week a month a year? The majority of gun owners don't kill people.

You really an interesting one. "It's ok to shoot people, kill people. Because quite frankly, it's just not happening frequently enough."

What a joke.

What a joke.

When did I say its ok to shoot someone? The only time I think its ok to shoot someone is if your life is in danger, guy pulls out a knife and starts trying to slash and stab you with it then yes I think its ok. If a person pulls out a gun yes I think its ok to shoot them ect. I don't believe that you should shoot someone over an argument and I don't believe you should shoot someone if you have the situation under control. Don't try to play games with me.

Thats ok then, so because a majority dont who cares about the ones that do.

No I care about the ones that died, its sad and it shouldn't have happened but the fact is murders happen all the time and it doesn't have to involve a gun for it to happen. If I have or a 100 pound woman can have something like a gun to equalize the situation with the attacker than they should have it. And NO that doesn't mean everyone should own a gun.

Yeah you clearly care so much when you threaten the government to try and take your guns. You care more about a peice of metal than the tens of thousands of people who get killed by guns every year.

I care about my rights as an American citizen. I love the bleeding heart you have though its funny, you don't care about the potential lives a gun could save as well. You don't care that a rape victim could be saved by a gun. You don't care that a father could save his children from being kidnapped by an intruder. See we can both play on emotions..

What's funny is your own psuedo-bleeding heart for the potential rape victims or potential kidnapped children. You feign concern for those things simply because the alternative means you could lose your toys. So transparent.

Yeah its hilarious that I care about people, what kind of a world do we live in what someone can use that as an insult????

I do see the potential lives saved because of a gun, but they are FAR outweighed by the potential to take a life on the whim of some idiot who thinks the answer to every problem is to draw a weapon.

Damn, don't think I could have put it any better myself, hit the nail on the head perfectly.

    • Google was using the old CATPCHAs data to train their LLMs. What is the say they won't use this camera data of users to train their LLM? these companies need some strict regulations!
    • Depends on what you need. Might be a bit clearer on what you plan to do with it. Sort of a waste if you get the newest and greatest, but don't know how to use it.

    • Hi everyone, I'm planning a small network upgrade and was wondering how others prepare their networks for future needs. Do you usually invest in higher-speed switches and better cabling from the start, or do you upgrade only when necessary? I'd be interested in hearing what has worked well for you and any lessons you've learned over time. Thanks!
