Windows 8.1, Why Was It Having A Codename "Blue"?

Windows codename blue was started before win8 RTM, maybe MS guys already decided at that time it was necessary to do something?

I actually hated this codename. For me, blue = sad. I think they should use placenames again.

Agreed.  And of course this was being worked on before RTM.  In any  application development there is scope for items to be "next release"
