I don't plan to buy/rent & play Forza 4 anytime soon but this thread has had me hooked onto it. I found a Forza 4 setup in a bestbuy (Cambridge, MA) with the new wireless-hold-in-air-with-your-hands wheel and played a couple of laps and it was fun+easy. The wheel felt really responsive and better than using controller. This is obviously coming from someone who has never used *any* wheel before so probably doesn't count much but I feel that thing is good for someone like me (amateur, casual etc.) at least.

I was never good at simulators and hence never had any desire to pick up Forza but recently I spent some time on Forza 3 and I loved it. I will pick this up as soon as "life" allows it. :)

The pack looks great, even though some of the cars aren't really to my taste. I can see the Chevy Bel Air being a blast to drive, though. It might be one of the few Chevrolet cars I can say I like for the design. I remember it being one of my favourite cars in Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition, but I'm curious how it is going to handle in a more realistic game environment.

I'm not a huge fan of Le Mans cars (likely for the same reason I'm not a huge F1 fan: the cars aren't production models or based on them), but the R15++ could be fun to try out. I wonder if they'll put it into R1 class, like the 'normal' R15, or will it just immediately appear in X Class? If it does then it'll be the only stock X Class car in the game. I want the GMC Typhoon to be good when upgraded.

On an unrelated note, how far can you upgrade the Hummer H1? I returned the copy of the game I rented on Tuesday so I can't really discover for myself. I'm hoping it would turn into some kind of beast after upgrading, but I am fairly sure that wouldn't happen. A friend crashed in an H1 into my Prius after using the entire straight on the Old Le Mans as a run-up, and the H1 came off worse than the Prius, somehow. I'd laugh if it got into A Class. If anyone has an H1 and Hummer Affinity 4, then could they check it? The H1 would be hilarious to race against Ferraris and actual sports cars.

You know when you go into your clubs garage and scroll through the cars? Some of the cars in my clubs shared garage come up as black squares, so the only way I know which ones i'm on are to select them and go to the lobby. Any one else have this problem?

Yep, I was having the same problem. It seems to have fixed itself now.

Finally reached driver level 50. Next on my list is to save up for the Sesto Elemente.

How much is the Sesto Elemente? I was in a race against it with the Zonda R, and it seemed to be slightly better than my Zonda because it would occasionally pull ahead before I'd catch up again. It's a great looking car, even when it was only really designed for racing.

IMO the Zonda is the better car. Also IMO, the Reventon with a weight reduction (the final stage drops a ridiculous 1000 lbs or something) is better than the Sesto.

The Sesto is 2.5 million credits, too.

Well try them both.

For it's power to weight ratio, I found the Sesto lacking, but I will say that I've only tried it stock in rivals mode. Could be better topped out at R3.

Oh i'm definately gonna get the Sesto for sure, but 2.5 mill isn't exactly chump change, add on that the upgrades. So i'll sort that car out for my club and i'll get one of my other club members to sort out the Reventon. And if the Sesto turns out to be rubbish i'll be very very p****d off!

Have to say i'm absolutely loving Forza 4. After the utter disappointment of GT5 i'm so glad we have such an awesome driving game which has some real longevity. Only managed 1.47 around the TG track so far though :(

Anyone know if the Ariel Atom is in the game? Absolutely dying to try that car out but haven't seen it so far.

The atom was in the third, but so far ot in F4 unfortunately.

I love the small nimble cars, but I suck at driving the cause I suck cornering and thus keeping speed in corners which ishowtheycan compete with far faster cars. Indeed big huge heavy cars that still handle good, and heavy enough to bully myself through :p

So for anyone who's interested in trying out the Hummer maxed out, I've added it to the Club Garage. it's a mid A class car which handle's as you'd expect!

Also did some nice visual alterations to it, just to give it the right 'pussywagon' look.

    • Web search has been one of those crap ware that I try to get rid of asap. It's annoying and slow. It was a cheap way for Microsoft to drive traffic to Bing.
    • All I can say is that think the USB G8 is better in many ways, and costs the same or slightly less. I wouldn't part with mine. It's even a big improvement over the G6 USB. (You can also use studio phones (up to 600 OHMs I think) with the G8, but I have to say that even relatively cheap 30-50 OHM phones sound absolutely great--far better than through most internal motherboard sound!) Considering the difference in these products I am surprised that Creative is still making the PCIe internal card versions. https://www.headphoneer.com/cr...ve-sound-blaster-g8-review/
    • I missed this when you first posted it, but those are awesome icons! I would normally prefer things to be uniform, but each of those icons seems to fit perfectly for the game! If I may ask though, what was your thought process on which icons are circular - MK makes sense - and which ones should be rectangular or square?
    • What I like about Paint is using it almost exclusively for cropping and resizing images I get elsewhere--it's quick, easy and cheap... I keep it glued to my taskbar, in fact. Also, the clipping tool comes in handy, as well (hit print scrn on the keyboard and it activates immediately.)
    • I still remember it fondly today. It was so cool to work in 64-color Half Bright mode and 4.096-color HAM mode (interlaced) when x86 was still in 4-color CGA or 16-color EGA low res. C= never realized what it had until it was far too late--the failure of C= was the failure of its top management. The C= Amiga was 20 years ahead of its time, I always thought. It didn't hurt that in only 512k of chip memory, the Amiga could preemptively multitask when Apple was still doing gray scale graphics on tiny screens and along with everyone else was doing cooperative multitasking (running more than one app at a time in resident memory, but you could only run one of them at a time--had to manually switch between them.) I had a ball with AREXX scripting running between programs that had AREXX ports so that when you sent other applications data and instructions, those running applications could process the same in real time to output! Memories...
