Great. So I kicked the 2 remaining members of my club so I could close it but if I try to leave it I can't. It tells me that I must promote someone to leader before I can leave it. is there no way to close a club?

Odd. The first club I club I created (just to see how it all worked) let me leave with no issues. Maybe once a second person joins it makes the club more "permanent."

Well, even though I kicked them they stilled showed up grayed out, like they were offline. Maybe I need them to login to verify the "kick" and then when I truly have no members I can leave it.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I'll be joining NWN, hopefully tonight. Gamertag: tzvibish

Just got the game, so I don't have too much to offer as far as tunes/liveries go, other than my Class A Citroen C1 :p (It's a fun car to drive, really).

I requested to join NWN as well, so hopefully I'll get in too. I don't have much either but I can share a few crazy BMWs (RadishTM might like that!). :p

So I guess the shared cars are only for looking out and test driving, and not actually using? Those were the only two options I had when I tried to check a few of them out last night.

You should be able to drive it in any race, just not modify it. There's a "club garage" panel when you're picking a car for a race.

You know when you go into your clubs garage and scroll through the cars? Some of the cars in my clubs shared garage come up as black squares, so the only way I know which ones i'm on are to select them and go to the lobby. Any one else have this problem?

I shared some cars in the club garage. The R2830 Nissan Fairlady Z '69 is something I've been working on for a while now. It's basically upgraded as far as it will go, and I've been trying to tune it to make it drivable. It goes 0-60 in 2.4 sec. It's pretty beastly. I've gotten it to the point where you can use it without spinning out every time you hit the throttle, but it understeers so much that it's very hard to manage on most courses. If anyone wants to give it a whirl, and give me some tips on where I could improve the understeer, that would be great.

I also have a S699 Mazda Miata that is incredibly fun to drive, but it can be very unstable at times. I think it could be a gear ratio problem, but if you're throttling at all when downshifting to 3rd, the thing just spins out.

I've found that taking mediocre cars and upgrading/tuning them into supercars is much more fun (and satisfying) than buying a Lamborghini :p

I put my drift Silvia S15 in the club garage if anyone wants to try drifting out. It's surprisingly fun.

Also, just a tip for anyone new, if you want to get level 4 affinity (100% upgrade discount) in almost any brand, it takes ~2 laps round the 'ring to get there.

There's an ongoing bug with the game, where you can earn 999,999,999CR for doing nothing. It's related to the Storefront and/or Auction House, it seems. There's a thread on ForzaMotorsport.net about it, which is a little disconcerting. The suggestion given by the community moderators seems to be that you just avoid spending more money than you had before the game maxed your bank out. The suggestion given by normal community members is to keep buying the Ferrari 250 GTO (10,000,000CR each), and then sell them back to the game for 5,000,000CR each time. Granted that is an incredibly slow method of returning to your legitimate money, but it seems to be a solution for the problem. Turn 10 are meant to be explaining the situation sometime this week.

If you find yourself with 999,999,999CR, what would you do though? The game won't let you earn any more from racing so it rules out racing for more money. At the moment it seems to be a small-scale issue, and is not being caused by modders altering their gamesaves like in Forza 3. There's still the community that doesn't use the ForzaMotorsport.net forum though so it could be much more widespread than expected. If you see any dirt cheap Ferraris appearing on the Auction House you may want to bid and risk being punished for using the bug that could screw up the online economy (arguably the Affinity system kinda does, though), or you could avoid buying anything from the AH in case you wind up with more money than you ever should aim to get in the game.

At first, I was put off by how easy it was to get free upgrades. Then I upgraded a small car into an R3 and realized that unless you know how how to tune and drive, you've got no chance. The free upgrades are really for optimizing a car for your class, which is pretty much required in online races. Considering how much Turn10 is pushing the community, this was probably a good move, getting people to race more cars in more races.

In most cases the higher you upgrade a car from its base level the more uncotnrollable it is in some way and harder to tun correctly again. After all an S class Ferrari was designed froth ground up as an S class. No matter how many and how good parts you stuff in that WV Golf it was never designed to be an S class and will never be as god to drive as the Ferrari.

Depends. If you go all power to get into the S-class, yeah, it's gonna suck. If you reduce weight and work on the suspension and add a little power, it can be awesome. But, at that point you're comparing what is basically a stripped race car to a luxury sports car.

Also, cars have different modification ranges, some can only go so light, some can only get fitted with so wide tires, etc, so finding a good one to tune in the first place is also important.

And sometimes there just isn't the parts to make your F-class a supercar. As an owner of two Suzukis (in RL), I wanted to upgrade and tune the SX4 you get early in the game to at least an S. It barely made it to A, with all parts bought. Oh, well, back to tuning my R2 Fairlady :p

Jalopnik's holding a design competition with Forza 4! http://jalopnik.com/5852591/

Be quick though; you've only got until midnight Wednesday (American time) to submit your design!

The Electric DeLorean isn't DeLorean Motor Company's only project. They're also working on a supercharged version of the classic stainless steel sports car set to debut at SEMA next week. All they need is a design to wrap it in, which is where you, and a copy of Forza Motorsport 4, come in.

Use your creative skills to design the best custom paint job for the Stage III supercharged DeLorean in Forza 4 and DMC will apply it to their latest creation. And did we mention prizes? There will be prizes. Details below the jump.

The Contest

We've partnered with the DeLorean Motor Company of Humble, Texas to help them create a design for their Stage III Supercharged DMC-12. What we came up with was this pink monstrosity. You can probably do better.

Just login to Forza 4, buy a DMC-12 (as if you don't already have one), and apply all the paint and decals you can to create a custom design that simply screams "awesome supercharged DeLorean."

If your design is chosen, the nice folks at DMC will create a vinyl wrap of it for SEMA.

The Requirements

Because this is a SEMA show car we're going to ask that you incorporate three logos from the partners involved: DMC, Sprintex Superchargers, and Jalopnik.

All of these can be found by going to the Forza 4 showroom of RandoorRandolfs later today and downloading them from him.

Currently, only the Jalopnik logo is available, but we want to give you plenty of time to work on the design.

However you use them — either as a bumper sticker or incorporated into the design — is up to you, just make sure they're visible and make sure the Jalopnik logo isn't the largest since we've done the least amount of work to make this car a reality.

The Details

Since there's a short window to turn this car around and get it wrapped so it can participate in the SEMA tuning show in Las Vegas next week we're not giving you much time. The contest officially starts now and ends at 11:59 PM on Tuesday, October 25th.

To enter you need to design the car, upload it to your showroom, and send us at least one good in-game shot of the car to be judged. Attach them in an email to tips@jalopnik.com with the subject "DeLorean Design Contest" along with your Xbox Live gamer tag, real name, and a phone number.

We also encourage you to upload them to this comment thread so other viewers can submit feedback.

Because Forza 4 doesn't allow you to paint the front lip or rear bumper we're allowing you to make those changes in another design program if you wish, but it isn't a requirement.

But I don't have Forza 4

Ideally, you do. If not, you're more than welcome to sketch or create a version of the vehicle and apply your design to it and send it to us. But it needs to be comprehensive enough that we can see the vehicle from all angles.

PRIZES!

In addition to seeing your design on a real car, which is the best reward of all, we'll also give you free stuff. This includes a prize pack from DeLorean Motor Company complete with apparel and other goodies. There will also be a mystery pack of stuff from the Jalopnik offices. And stickers.

The fine print

As always, standard Gawker Media contest rules apply. In addition, DeLorean reserves the right to modify or change your design in any way to make it work on the vehicle. If you are selected the winner by our esteemed panel you must provide the car in your showroom along with detailed in-game photos. Failure to respond quickly means you forfeit and we move onto the next person. Turn 10 and Microsoft are not sponsoring this contest.
