I'm really surprised by all the comments here. My girlfriend and I watched it a few weeks ago and both thought it was one of the most rubbish movies we have ever seen. The characters were two dimensional, the plot was boringly repetitive and implausible (yes I know it's sci-fi :)) and the ending was schmaltzy. Groundhog Day and Star Trek did this sort of thing with much more style.

You say the characters are two-dimensional, then you give Groundhog Day and Star Trek as examples of movies with fleshed out characters? Does not compute.

^Yea, I was trying to explain what source code was to my sister half the movie (rather unsuccessfully)

If you want character development and a deep ending you should be reading a novel, not watching a summer movie

I thought this movie was entertaining and interesting, that's all I really look for in movies.
