My little brother managed to get a copy of the PS3 version early. He told me that he acquired it from someone at a flea market. As sketchy as that sounds, the copy is pretty legit. He was playing online all day today and as for me... I'm still jealous. And a little mad that he didn't tell me about it as soon as he got it. I would've bought copies for myself and my friends.

My brother's copy isn't arriving until release day. Had an email from GAME yesterday saying that Activision's put out a delivery embargo on all UK retailers; they're not allowed to ship out any copies until Monday. :/

Dear Jordan,

Thank you for preordering Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 from GAME.co.uk

This email is just to confirm that your preorder is being picked and packed ready for despatch via Royal Mail on 7th November.

Modern Warfare 3 is released on 8th November and Activision, who publish it, have worked very

hard to make it the biggest gaming launch ever. They have requested that no UK retailer despatch

Modern Warfare 3 before the 7th November and GAME along with all reputable retailers will respect

this request. Royal Mail have a next day delivery rate of more than 93%.

If you have any questions about this, check out our Call of Duty FAQ at www.game.co.uk/codfaq

Remember, by preordering from GAME.co.uk you have not only secured your Exclusive intel pack,

but if you are a Reward Card customer, you will also receive Double Reward Points on Modern Warfare 3.

Your intel pack will also be despatched on the same day but will be in a different package.

I was watching Spike last night and the played the new BF3 trailer then a few minutes they played the MW3 trailer. Sorry, they just do not compare. I know MW3 is on the PC so the graphics have to be better than what is being shown on TV. Why would they not show the best this game can be? Or is that it? It's just not fair when they run the commercials back to back.

Man, I can't find a pre-order for the Hardened Edition in Canada. The only websites I've come across that even have it listed are Best Buy and Future Shop, and they're both sold out. Gamestop and Amazon (the Canadian versions) don't have it listed at all, which is a little odd. Still not entirely sure if I want the regular edition or the Hardened Edition, but if I decide to go for the latter, it sounds like I might have to line up outside of Best Buy in the cold. That's a little more dedication than what I'm prepared for ;).

I hate to say it but the game will more or less look the same on consoles as well as PCs.

Check this for comparisons of MW2 across all three platforms.

That literally looks absolutely identical to Modern Warfare 2. The voices, the sounds, the interface. Maybe once the map packs come out and they include them in a purchase for Modern Warfare 3 with the price still remaining at $60, then I'll get it. No way I'll get this at launch date though like I did with Black Ops.

The new Point Streak systems looks excellent, though!

You may not even have to pre-order it, winner gets a free copy.

I honestly think I can take most people here locally, I consider myself a really good CoD player. At least in TDM. I'm hearing that it's Survival Mode and also heard it's Local MP. I'm sorta confused on that part.

Holy crap, after watching some footage of MW3 this game looks pretty much identical to MW2. WTF. Like someone said above, even the sounds, voices, graphics are the same. lol.

If it plays like CoD 4, I have no issues with this.

And that attitude is what is holding the game industry back. Enjoy your stale bread.

The engine is so old, I don't know what you're expecting from them. I mean, yeah, a new engine would be great but most likely when the new consoles come out will something will be made. I'm just saying, CoD4 was a great MP game. If it plays anywhere near that than I'm ok with it. Don't hate on what makes me like a game as it might not appeal to you.

I'd be damned if I paid full retail for a game not much different from that of a game over 5 years old.

Madden comes to mind for some reason...

I agree with this, yet, I will only buy IW CoD's from here on out. I didn't like WaW and I didn't like Black Ops. Madden was only relevant to me back in 2004-2005 with Mike Vick and Ray Lewis on the cover. I do believe, Call of Duty can offer a lot more. Although, this is my view and I don't like Battlefield, I didn't like either BF:BC2 or BF3. It's preference.

I have to say after watching a lot of footage of this game I have decided that it is just not worth a purchase, in my opinion this game is completely inferior to BF3 and does not warrant spending my hard earned cash especially considering that it offers nothing new, I always found that team work is virtually non existent when it comes to CoD and that is why I cannot be bothered with it, Battlefield understands team work and is why it will probably take over my life :p This is not an attack on the game because it is a solid game but after playing Battlefield 3 it feels like I am taking 12 steps back in terms of actual gameplay. I may end up recieving it as a present in which case I will probably finish the SP just for the sake of closure and then sell the game. The MP is truly dead for me...

I loved WaW. The best in this new day of gaming. Though I am a ww2 historian, so biased as it is. I hate the modern warfare games and I wish we could go back to ww2 gaming. I play Madden daily so, here I think the point is moot, as it depends on the gamer.

Exactly how I feel, word for word.

I am going to pick the game up on Friday, I am looking forward to it. No need to fix something that is not broke, I still think the games looks good and plays good as well. The game is arcade and not set to be realism like BF.

There is no grain of realism in BF3 either. It's just kids shooting rockets in narrow corridors. I made a mistake buying this... up for sale

    • The current Statcoungter desktop numbers has Google Chrome increasing it's market share this past year and currently commanding 75% share. Everybody else is just making up the numbers with even MS Edge losing 3% this past year and has dipped just below 10% share which is staggering considering it's default on every Windows deviced purchased. If these numbers are correct that terrible Edge number is both devastating and embarrassing for MS especially when you add in the terribly low Bing market share. This leads me to ask a couple of questions as the default browser holding just less than 10% market share seems really weird. It used to be that all Chromium browsers were being counted as Google Chrome in some cases.  Is this still happening? Do these high Google Chrome numbers contains some Edge user numbers?
    • Yeah, all web browsers seem to have some junk in them these days. The regular Brave browser has a lot of unnecessary stuff in it, similar to Microsoft Edge, so I don't see any benefits of using Brave over Microsoft Edge if you already have Microsoft Edge fully set up with adblockers and that. The cleanest or best free browser outside of 'Microsoft Edge' I’ve tried so far is 'Opera Air'. It still has some bloat, but nowhere near as much as Brave browser, for example. I also really like the web browser called 'Floorp' that is based on Firefox. I have a system wide Adblocking program for Windows 11 that doesn't just blocks ads in the the web browser, but over the whole thing. I don't really need a web browser with an inbuilt adblocker because of that.
