Finished the campaign in Hardcore yesterday, this is probably the most intense single-player campaign I have ever played in a game.

I had a lot of fun and I am looking forward to replay it in insane, in arcade, in co-op, on the floor, up against the minibar ...

Story wise, there are a few weaknesses: some terminal clich?s, constant references to the books between Gears 2 and Gears 3 which makes some secondary characters pop up a little bit of nowhere and some loose ends that needs more explanations especially with the middle of the Gears 2 campaign.

What is the difference from regular campaign?

You have scoring and rankings at the end of each chapters so when playing with 3 friends, that adds a little funny competion

I have been playing Campaign Arcade Co-op wirh a friend on Insane, and it is just that Freakin Insane, the drudges ( i think thats what they are, the big ones that shoot ranged like the Halo 3 Covenent tanks ) are a pita, taking 8 boom shots to the face, followed by 6 sniper shots to the head and still not fall, only way i have found to actually do it is quickly boomshot the poplup before they drop down to the ground.

It is true: the difficulty levels differences are really marked: in Insane, the locusts are really going for the slaughter.

To play in insane mode, the 4 players co-op is the way to go: either in arcade hen you can respawn or in normal co-op with different difficulty level: one in insane and the three others in casual, the one in insane plyaing possum.

I have played Act 3 Chapter 2 with friends in arcade: it took us 45 minutes to complete the level

Gears of War 3 Tops 3M Sold in One Week

Gears of War 3 sold more than three million copies in the first week since its release, publisher Microsoft said today. The Xbox 360 exclusive is now the top grossing game of 2011, a record that more than a few games will be gunning to topple in the coming months.

The Toughest Xbox 360 Achievement You Can Get, We Think

xlarge_100points_05.jpg

To get the hardest achievement on the Xbox 360, Marcus Fenix had to do more than just kill a few Locust. He had to get his hands dirty. He had to put in some time.

Those 100 points don't come easy.

The Achievement, Seriously 3.0 may well be the hardest Achievement to get on the Xbox 360—the hardest one that hasn't been rendered impossible by server shut-downs and glitches—because it requires such dedicated world-saving that the overall toil could take him years to complete.

To gain this Achievement, he'd need to reach rank 100, a rank earned through dedication in his mission and in his competitive contests (we call them multiplayer). But reaching 100 would be easy compared to what he'd have to do to earn all his Onyx medals.

The Onyx medals would be tough. He could kill his enemies with a pistol a hundred times and he'd get just a bronze. Five hundred would just get silver. He needed 6,000 pistol kills for that Onyx.

And that was just one Onyx medal. Seriously 3.0 would require him to get all of them. How much? The Epic Games forums had the daunting, unofficial tally: 6,000 kills with the Lancer, 6,000 with the Hammerburst, 6,000 with the Retro Lancer, 6,000 with the Gnasher Shotgun, and 6,000 with the Sawed-Off Shotgun.

That too would not be enough. He'd have to execute 6,000 enemies (including 500 nemeses), and take 1,500 enemy leaders captive. He'd have to participate in 30 Gears of War 3 events and be an MVP in competitive combat 500 times. He'd have to play at least 4,000 of those matches and win 3,000 of them, holding the enemy side to no wins in a multi-round match at least 2,500 times.

He could not be weary or sloppy. He'd have to score 6,000 headshots, 6,000 kills with heavy weapons, 6,000 with explosives and 6,000 specifically with weapons found on the competitive battlefield. With a sharp eye he'd have to "spot" 12,000 bad guys, kill 3,000 with fire and destroy 1,000 grenades. He'd have to kill 1,000 enemies while holding a captive. He'd have to win 500 rounds of Capture the Leader and never be taken captive in 1,500 of those matches (but he'd have to capture 1,500 opposing leaders).

He'd have to be slightly kind, reviving his downed allies 1,200 times and assisting them in their kills in competitive combat at least 5,000 times. In Capture the Leader, he'd have to save a captured leader 1,200 times, making sure to try that style of competition 3,000 times.

He'd have to spend the most time in cover in a match 600 times, perfect the reloading of his weapon 25,000 times.

Rest would still not be an option. He'd have to compete in King of the Hill 3,000 times and Warzone in another 3,000; the same for Execution and Team Deathmatch. He'd have to be the last man standing on his team 3,000 times. He'd also have to get the first kill 3,000 times.

The Seriously 3.0 warrior would have to fight the Horde. He'd have to beat all of its 50 waves at their Master difficulty; conquering 2,000 waves of that Horde during his career. He would have to start a base 500 times, build 1,000 fences, turrets or what have you and earn $5,000,000 while completing 100 mid-Horde challenges.

If all of this seemed easy to him, he'd be a madman and presumptuous. There's more. He'd have to finish Beast mode at Killer difficulty, knocking through 600 waves overall, chomping through 3,000 fences, turrets or what have you and reviving or healing his pals 600 times. He'd be killing 1,100 people, earning $1,000,000. He'd have to unlock the chance to control the most beastly beasts 75 times.

He'd have to re-fight his war, for points. In Campaign Arcade mode, he'd need to earn 7.5 million points and be the top point-getter of his party 240 times. He'd have to hit his max multiplier 100 times. He'd have to play that Arcade mode 500 times overall. He would be expected to finish one of his campaign's chapters 240 times, ripping through the whole campaign on its hardest, Insane mode at least once—maybe that twice, because he'd have to do it on Arcade. Oh, and he'd have to manipulate object in the campaign 2,000 times.

He would just have a ton to do, including stomping on bad guys' heads at least 3,000 times.

But at least he'd have an advantage if he was or pretended to be a she, because he'd (or she'd) have to fight as a woman in multiplayer 1,000 times.

Then and only then, our hero would have Achieved Seriously 3.0.

Had this game reserved since Bulletstorm and then got busy/unmotivated getting to its release. Finally picked it up two days ago and finally played it yesterday. Initial impressions after the first chapter are of good old fashioned gears fun, so I can't wait to continue on in the story. It would appear that they've done a lot to make MP compelling as well so I'll be looking forward to checking that out :D

what's going on with the MP here? only 20K people worldwide playing it on the weekend?! or is there something wrong with my settings?

Thats per gametype i think, each game type has a diffrent playercount

Did the names of all the DLC get leaked?

http://buypoe.com/co...ers-leaked.html

So, I'm going to assume this means I was right and Epic had all this made and are only releasing it on a timing schedule... lame. I hate what consoles have done to DLC (looking at you, Activision).

Three of the maps are supposedly on the disc already, too...

Did the names of all the DLC get leaked?

Three of the maps are supposedly on the disc already, too...

So what if they are already on the disk. And just cause they are named doesnt mean they are done, juat means the just have the locations or storylines penned out.

Personally i would rather the DLC be spaced out, gives more life to the game, instead of pigging out on everything at once then getting bored with it,,, then proceding to flame and crap because there is nothing else left

So I don't want to pay for something that I've already paid for.

I've never heard of DLC being that planned out so far in advance. I stand by my assertion that all this DLC was likely made before the game even shipped. My assertion is even more valid when you search for information on these maps and characters online -- seems a lot of them have already been found.

The first few days of this game's Multiplayer were amazing. But for the last week or so I seem to struggle to find a game immediately (no suitable Game found etc...)

Also the once in a game the gameplay feels more like p2p than dedicated server. It's really annoying. 1 game lastnight I finished 27kills with 2 deaths. On the very next map I was 7 Kills with 14 deaths, playing against the exact same players :-\

Seems like whoever loses round1 gets a boost for round 2 too. Its really frustrating grrr.

All this has taken place on TDM/Quickmatch. Just wondered if anyone else from uk has a similar complaint

    • Windows 11 version 26H2 is now available for testing in the latest preview build by Taras Buria Friday Windows 11 preview builds are here. Insiders in the Experimental (formerly Dev) and Beta Channel can download builds 26300.8697 and 26220.8690. There are no new features, but Microsoft is officially moving the Experimental Channel to version 26H2. In addition, Microsoft is improving the copy dialog in File Explorer, the Start menu reliability, and fixing virtualization issues. Here is the changelog: [General] With today’s build, Windows Insiders in the Experimental channel will see the versioning updated under Settings > System > About (and winver) to version 26H2. For more information, see the Windows Insiders blog. [Start menu] - Also available in Beta Improved reliability of Start menu reflecting newly installed or removed apps without requiring sign-out or restart. [Taskbar] Fixed an issue for Insiders using the new smaller taskbar option, where the system tray might get cut off or pushed off screen. [Settings] - Also available in Beta Improved reliability of Settings > Apps > Startup. [Virtualization] - Also available in Beta This update addresses an issue that could result in bugchecks citing HYPERVISOR_ERROR (0x20001) and KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (0x1E) errors after installing the latest flights on some devices during system restarts, virtual machine operations, or while running some gaming applications. You can find the official changelog for the Experimental build here and for the Beta build here.
    • I've always preferred this possibility. There is something that feels good about the idea that all matter in the universe will eventually come back together and maybe even result in another big bang. The idea that the universe would fizzle out over the eons and forever drift apart is a little depressing. I realize it is not logical to let a basic human desire for life to have a grand everlasting meaning change the way I feel about a scientific theory, but I am human, so that is how I feel :-).
    • Windoze 11 could finally go to hell, instead of making me savor yet another error I've never had. "Bad Pool Caller" or whatever TF cryptic crap0la message it is. Adding salt to injury, it says something along these lines (on the blank black screen after it hard stops): "Your windoze needs to restart. You can restart." NO WAY SHERLOCK. The PEECEE, look, it's *blocked*, I can do jack sh1t with it as it is and you say that it needs to restart? Further, that I can restart? What am I supposed to do, take a herbal bath? Sudo a sandwich? Timewaster pile of useless slop and errors, coded by monkeys and force-fed on us by a pedo-founded corporation, that's all there is to it. Now, let's have a fun weekend trying to handle the error, which after a quick internet check can basically be due to EVERYTHING, from memory faults to drivers to motherboard issues. Thanks M$.
    • Zen Browser 1.21.3b by Razvan Serea Zen Browser is a privacy-focused, open-source web browser built on Mozilla Firefox, offering users a secure and customizable browsing experience. It emphasizes privacy by blocking trackers, ads, and ensuring your data isn't collected. With Zen Mods, users can enhance their browser experience with various customization options, including features like split views and vertical tabs. The browser is designed for efficiency, providing fast browsing speeds and a lightweight interface. Zen Browser prioritizes user control over the browsing experience, offering a minimal yet powerful alternative to traditional web browsers while keeping your online activity private. Zen Browser’s DRM limitation Zen Browser currently lacks support for DRM-protected content, meaning streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max are inaccessible. This is due to the absence of a Widevine license, which requires significant costs and is financially unfeasible for the developer. Additionally, applying for this license would require Zen to be part of a larger company, similar to Mozilla or Brave. Therefore, DRM-protected media won't be supported in Zen Browser for the foreseeable future. Zen Browser offers features that improve user experience, privacy, and customization: Privacy-Focused: Blocks trackers and minimizes data collection. Automatic Updates: Keeps the browser updated with security patches. Zen Mods: Customizable themes and layouts. Workspaces: Organize tabs into different workspaces. Compact Mode: Maximizes screen space by minimizing UI elements. Zen Glance: Quick website previews. Split Views: View multiple tabs in the same window. Sidebar: Access bookmarks and tools quickly. Vertical Tabs: Manage tabs vertically. Container Tabs: Separate browsing sessions. Fast Profile Switcher: Switch between profiles easily. Tab Folders: Organize tabs into folders. Zen Mods Customization: Deep customization with mods. Quick Access: Easy access to favorite websites. Open Source: Built on Mozilla Firefox with community collaboration. Community-Driven: Active development and feedback from users. GitHub Repository: Contribute and review the source code.
