As for the level 60 buff, it rules, and most of you have the wrong perception on it it seems. It stacks up to 5 times, for a total of I think 80% MF. You get 1 stack per yellow you kill, and 1 stack per blue you kill. So a blue mob can actually give you 3 stacks.

Champion "blue" packs don't give one stack per blue, it's 1 stack for the whole group of them.

If you're getting owned you need to farm/buy some better gear.

I had a few that threw me up 3 points... though it didn't happen on all mobs. But it can and does happen. Maybe if they get seperated enough the game thinks they are from a different group or something. But I've had that "glitch" happen a few times already.

I don't play many blizzard games, but someone please tell me its not normal that they bring down servers for EIGHT HOURS, just to patch the game? Jesus...

Yes, this is very common. WoW has seen 12+ hour downtimes in back to back weeks.

As for the hell difficulty, I decided right away that I would check out the mobs on Normal first, go map-by-map, learn their abilities, and then follow shortly on my hardcore toon.

You know that the abilities for champion+ are random, right? Its not the bosses that are difficult, its the basically unbeatable champion/rare/elite spawns that you can't do anything except try to get around or leave the game and reload.

Once the game settles down, they won't be patching it every week. There are fixes that need to be made.

Look at it this way - if the game had a single-player component, it would take them MONTHS to test and push out a patch. Since it only has to run on their servers, they can do so in days and weeks.

I'm still really addicted to this game!!! I'm on level 52 with my Barbarian and about half-way through Act 1 on Hell difficulty.

I'm not sure how I really feel about the AH. I upgraded all my stuff at level 30 and I had wanted to resist buying from the AH until level 60 and get by on what dropped for me. I was doing fine in single-player on Inferno difficulty. Then some friend of my girlfriend jumped in my game, everything became super hard and he started asking me about what my damage was and what my armor was... "Oh well mine is at blah blah blah" he tells me (furiously waving his e-penis, is how I interpreted that). So he tells me now I need to get on the AH and upgrade all my stuff. I tell him that I know, but I was enjoying the current challenge of the game and was trying to resist until I hit level 60 to shop the AH again.

Whatever...I jumped on the AH and picked up some upgrades for my character and now everything is boring and super-easy mode to the max. Oh well...I hope that Inferno is at least a decent challenge that can't be completely overcome by shopping the AH. Honestly, I think my next character might be completely AH-less play through because I think the AH kills the fun of the game.

I just need to learn to not be bothers by people flaunting their Damage. Congrats, you know how to search the AH and make yourself invincible. Here is a cookie. I'm sure there is a whole thread on the battle.net forums where you can post your Damage number until your life is 100% fulfilled and you can die happy.

@Shad... Ya, the AH has ruined the game in that aspect for sure. Both my friend and I agree, yet we can't help but use it. There is a very good post about here it... http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5151274074

Which basically states that the Item System in D3 is forcing people to have to use the AH to proceed further into the Hell and Inferno modes.

Sure, single player things are pretty easy, and you can and should be able to get through Hell mode alone, with out the AH. But, the second another person joins the game, it basically Quadruples the enemies health and Doubles the damage. Add in a 3rd player, and you get some insane health bars and damage from monsters. Because of this, and the drops that are normally under your level, you are forced, if you group up, to buy from the AH. With out it, you wont survive or be helpful to your team.

Before AH, I was around 4k of damage. It was perfectly fine for single player damage, but not for group. I had to go to the AH, which then put my DPS into the 8k mark. This made single player a total bore. But for group games, I was now actually doing damage and surviving.

I think the link I provided give the best reason to this, and I hope that Blizzard can adjust the Item System to be a little closer to D2's. There is no excuse for a wizard only set item to have barb fury stats, or for a witch doctor only mask to have demon hunter only stats.... It just shows how rushed everything really was.

I read that whole post. I agree with everything except the knock against individual loot drops. I think that is one of the best things they added to Diablo 3. You no longer have to fight for gold or loot when you're playing with randoms. If you're playing with friends, then you're trading loot afterwards anyway. So there isn't any downside to it.

Some of the points I REALLY agree with are: loot that drops 5-10 levels below yours (or the monster that you had to kill), shared magic-find, and the fact that playing with other people doesn't increase the drop quality (only monster difficulty). If they fixed nothing but those three things, I think Diablo 3 would be a much more rewarding experience.

When you say DPS, do you mean the Damage statistic? I know the tooltip calls it DPS, but I find calling that "DPS" a stretch as it is more close to the amount per-hit your damage does than how much DPS you are actually doing. I think the only way to have a true measure of DPS is to have a meter for a player, and dear God I hope D3 doesn't get those. I don't think it needs it anyway...the graphics are good enough at demonstrating the amount of damage you do that it is easy to distinguish the difference between equipment and skills.

One thought a buddy and I were discussing is that we would use crafting over the AH if it were possible to lock in 1 or 2 set attributes and not just get a 100% random item from crafting. Otherwise, crafting is more-or-less a waste of time and money from what I can tell so far. You'll spend 10X (if not more) as much on that as you would the AH, and you will end up with a better item off of the AH.

My next play through is definitely going to be AH-less. I don't care if my damage isn't as high as yours (speaking to all D3 players), I want to feel more like I earned my gear.

I bought this just after release, and got sick of the network drops - after demanding a refund I got the usual "check your router blah blah", I sent another message saying I wasnt happy at all - a week after no response I get a message this morning that they are refunding my payment.

Awesome.

Great timing really, I finished it at the weekend and I'd probably never play it again :)

Yeah, I don't like the whole "loot is open" D2 Method either. It really played towards those with the fastest computers/connection. I remember in D2, when you killed Baal, his whole temple would come crashing down. My PC at the time was good, but that part would always cause me to lag, and I would rarely get any drops from him when in a group. So I like this method in that sense.

@shad - for DPS, I think it tries to factor in your main stat for damage, how many hits you can get off per second, and all the other variables. That's how a weapon with 650 damage will give me 9,000 DPS. But, that number drops ingame with the higher you go into difficulty. In Inferno mode, while it says I do 9000DPS, I really hit monsters for around 3-5k and crit for more around 9k. So I'm a little confused as well on how everything is calculated.

I didn't realize Skill setup would factor in to my damage estimate (I realize that it effects things, I just didn't realize Blizz was tracking everything on that level). I will change things and see if it goes up at all.

Ya, depending on class , it goes as

Barb- Str

DH & Monk - Dex

Wiz and WD - Int

Those 3 stats will give you 1 point of damage per stat point. They also give other benefits, but those are their main focus.

If by "skill setup" you are thinking the abilities you choose, those don't factor into the DPS being shown. Those will have their own hidden DPS that you actually do with them. DPS is factored between gear and stats. Base stats, attack speed, On hit effects, and a few others determine the displayed DPS. Then there are hidden variables that will increase and decrease them, depending on what mode you play on, skills you use, and type of monsters and players in the game.

Actually its 1% damage boost per point, if you have 10 damage and add 1000 dex as a monk, you will have 110 damage, not 1010.

So you need good base damage to get much of a boost from a stat.

Actually, ya, I was reading it wrong :p

I have 1072 dex, and it raises my damage by 1072% of the weapon damage. So with my dex and a weapon that does 650 damage, I get an extra 6,968 damage.

Second, in the Politics is a ###business thread I was allowed to post that the GOP is a party of p e d ophiles but I was censored  when I posted the GOP are a party of p e d ophile protectors. Wtf Neowin. Please explain.
