thats exactly like deus ex. that game was amazing until the end where whatever positive feelings you felt about the game were just instantly gone. and now from what i am reading, bioware is gonna do it to me with this :(

deus ex and now mass effect suck at endings. so what this means is canadian video game developers suck at making a good end to their games

I'd be more inclined to say that their publishers pressure them into making crap endings for their games to meet deadlines and profit margins.

Aye, but then how could Deux Ex end there game? considering it was a prequel they couldn't just say and augmentations were banned for ever and we all lived happily ever after, but I'd rather have a strong singular ending than 3 crap ones.

would have been nicer then a three different video with a bunch of edited newsclips and a narrator telling you virtually nothing...

While I didn't really like the endings of Deus Ex I at least enjoyed the monologue for one of them. But it did not make me hate the game, I just threw out the boss fights and ending and enjoyed the other 19 hours I spent with the game. Same will go for ME3 if I end up not liking the ending. I may not like the last 20 mins but I sure as hell have enjoyed the 22 hours I've put in so far.

Bah. Tired of system scanning. It still blows. And its usefulness is also completely artificial, the worst of all being burning 500 units of fuel just to find some wreck where 400 units of fuel magically waits for me to collect.

I strongly prefer unavoidably doing head-spinning stunts in a 6x6 APC, going on thresher maw safari trips, running over clueless geth and commiting pyjak genocide.

Yeah I much prefered the Mako to the planet scanning. Granted it got a bit tedious after a while, but it definitely wasn't as bad as the planet scanning. I do find it odd that they changed it so that we only had to find stuff on a few planets, but at the same time slowed down the scanning so that it takes forever to find some of them once you're actually scanning the planet.

You know when scanning a planet it will point you towards the location of the blip? I much prefer this system it's a lot faster, I usually just goto a system start spamming the scan button every where then when the reapers come you have to leave the system and reenter you then have 3 seconds to get your stuff and leg it :D

I don't get what you mean "they slowed the scanning down"......when I found a planet that had a resource, I right-clicked, observed the direction of the arrow, let go of right-click, moved my mouse that direction, and repeated. Only normally took 3-4 right clicks and the speed to move the cursor around a bit, less than 10 seconds (usually 5 or so). Not really sure how that is "slowed down" when compared to ME2, doesn't seem to take any longer for me.

Oh I agree, scanning the whole system and then just going to the planets you need to is great, it's just that if the blip is on the other side of the planet, it takes way more mouse movement to get round there to send a probe. When you drag your mouse to the edge, the planet turns reeeeaallllly slowly compared to ME2.

I use the same tactic with the scanning too, but instead I spam the scan button, find most/all the things, and then let the reapers kill me, then when I respawn in the system, I just scan where I remember everything is :D

When you rotate the planet with your mouse, it rotates much more slowly than in ME2, at least it does for me.

And that makes it useless. Though I guess I should be thankful they didn't make it random just to make it more annoying. The whole War Asset thing has been pulled in by hair. Oh looky there, I found a ****ty cruiser... that for some reason hasn't bothered to give a f- about Galactic war efforts thus far and nobody else has given an f- about it in turn, as well. And Reapers don't even open fire at anything less than a dreadnought, they just ram things head-on, but, of course, it's suddenly going to definitely pwn Reapers like over 9000, because War Assets console tells me so.

I still don't see this hate for the ending. At least it isn't Halo 2's ending, where what we got for an ending was a "to be continued". I also think there are several ways to interpret it. It is, in fact, vague enough to really be what you want it to be. My friends are all very ****ed by the ending as well, but I'm relatively satisfied with it. I wasn't given any information that made me irritated the game was over and all loose ends were tied up (

Aside from the Red ending

).

When you rotate the planet with your mouse, it rotates much more slowly than in ME2, at least it does for me.

Rotates at normal speed for me, unless you are talking about holding the mouse button down THEN rotating it.....use the mouse button to find the direction of the object, then LET GO of the mouse button and rotate in that direction.....that's what I do and its the same speed as in ME2.

+cralias, that trick you told about taking the screenshot ain't working

I had to make a few tries to get it right. Editor's kind of picky, the game itself might also be.

Might want to try my attached file (remember to backup your own) to see if it works for you. I've set F12 as the key.

Thanks for that.

Okay, need a bit info here. For a mission on Quarian homeworld

The mission on Quarian homeworld, where you take down a Reaper in the end, I want to know what happens if you upload the Geth code. I didn't uploaded it, but Legion got p*ssed about it for obvious reasons. I quite liked him. So I want to know what happens if you upload the code.

Thanks for that.

The upload fails so Legion transmits himself to the Geth consciousness "dying" in the process, depending on your choices in ME2 and this game you then see a cutscene of the Geth wiping out the Quarrians, it cuts back to the planet and a Geth Prime says that they are now free and pledges Geth to help build the crucible and fight the reapers. Also depending on your choices in ME2 and this game Tali might take her mask off and commit suicide

Here' another take on the ending.

Hmm, it seems im not the only one who thought for a good while that everything that happens after you get hit by Harbinger's laser in the final run is a dream sequence, especially the way that part begins .. apparently there's crazy theories that everything onwards was Shepard's hallucination, or him fighting off reaper indoctornation ..

that kind of does explain why he wakes up and takes the breath in the "special" ending in London, in his full n7 armor, even though he lost it in the citadel and he was there when it blew up .. here's a great recap from someone in the official bioware forms, spoiler tagging it just in case so the post doesnt become a wall of text

Thought on the ending:

1. The endgame scenario is Indoctrination/Manipulation from the Reapers (Harbinger) trying to force you into choosing to let the Reapers live. Shepard is not awake during the final sceens!

2. Choosing to control the Reapers allows them to live. Reapers win. They will still exist.

3. Choosing to combine organic and synthetic life: Reapers win. They will still exist.

4. Choosing to destroy all synthetic life: Reapers loose. Shepard lives. Reapers die.

5. Choosing to destroy all synthetic life option is more Renegade in appearence. Controlling the Reapers is more Paragon in appearence. The Illusive Man's choice should not be Paragon colors, just as Anderson's choice should not be Renegade.

6. Shepard awakes at the end of destroying Reapers. But Shepard is not awaking from the aftermath. He is awaking from either after he is hit by Harbingers lazer attack on Earth or after the scene with Anderson and the Illusive Man.

7. Stating that all sythetic life will be destroyed will give you pause; destroying the Geth can force you to a different conclusion. This choice exists for the illusion of choice; the other choices are ment to sound better.

8. Shepard does not awake in the other 2 "endings" because you are fully indoctrinated by the choices you made to allow the Reapers to win. "Assuming Control!"

9. Never trust any child construct, be it a ghost or artificial intelligence, or heck even human. They are just creepy.

10. Shepard awakes at the end because he has broken hold of the Reaper's control.

11. Shepard has spent alot of time around Reapers. Soveriegn, various Reaper artifacts, the Human Reaper, 2 Reaper destroyers, the Artifact from "The Arrival." Its foolish to assume there is not some level of indoctrination.

12. Bioware not only get more $$$ for DLC for the final battle, but big props for INDOCTRINATING A LOT OF ITS OWN PLAYERS! I do not know of another gaming company that has tried to fool all of its consumers, but they look to be the first and reap all of the attention.

13. Look at these screenshots. I believe the 1m1 is a clue, because of how often it shows up, and how human it is, when the ship is supposedly older then the ancients.

14. Definitions:

Catalyst =1. Chemistry A substance, usually

used in small amounts relative to the reactants, that modifies and

increases the rate of a reaction without being consumed in the process.2. One that precipitates a process or event, especially without being involved in or changed by the consequences[/color]

Addition information compiled from community and written by:

Crucible=

1. A vessel made of a refractory substance

such as graphite or porcelain, used for melting and calcining materials

at high temperatures.2. A severe test, as of patience or belief; a trial. See Synonyms at trial.3. A place, time, or situation characterized by the confluence of powerful intellectual, social, economic, or political forces:

15. Shepard is not wearing his armor when he wakes up in the Citadel, implying that this is a dream.

Kitten Tactics:

-The endgame scenario is Indoctrination/Manipulation from the Reapers

(Harbinger) trying to force you into choosing to let the Reapers live.

Shepard is not awake during the final scenes.

-Choosing Control - You can not control them, they control you. Shepard says as much to the Illusive Man moments earlier.

-Choosing

Synthesis - Allows everyone in the galaxy to be manipulated by Reaper

code, like they have done to the Geth multiple times now.

-Choosing Destroy - Breaks the hold the reapers have on Shepard's mind.

-Choosing

to destroy all synthetic life option is more Renegade in appearence.

Controlling the Reapers is more Paragon in appearence. The Illusive

Man's choice should not be Paragon colors, just as Anderson's choice

should not be Renegade. The reapers are saying that Destroy is the

worst, Control is worse, and Synthesis is the best. They want you to

fail.

-Stating that all sythetic life will be destroyed will

give you pause; destroying the Geth can force you to a different

conclusion. This choice exists for the illusion of choice; the other

choices are ment to sound better.

-Shepard wakes up after

Destroy, because the Reaper's hold is diminished. Shepard does not

awake in the other 2 "endings" because you are fully indoctrinated by

the choices you made to allow the Reapers to win. "Assuming Control!"

-The

child does not actually exist. He is an attempt to indoctrinate

Shepard. Nobody but Shepard ever sees or interacts with the child.

-When

Anderson calls for Shepard at the beginning of the game, when Shepard

is talking to the child, Shepard turns back and the child is gone.

Shepard has been "snapped out of it".

-When Shepard turns towards

Anderson after being "snapped out of it", a growl is heard. In the

third novel, when Greyson resisted the reapers they would make a

growling noise once they realized they didn't have him under complete

control.

-During Shepard's final dream with the child, chatter

can be heard over the radio about nobody making it to the beam. Shepard

is still in London.

-When Shepard catches the child in the final

dream, they are both engulfed in flame. Going with the child (the

reapers) means Shepard's destruction.

-Shepard has spent alot of

time around Reapers. Soveriegn, various Reaper artifacts, the Human

Reaper, 2 Reaper destroyers, the Artifact from "The Arrival." Its

foolish to assume there is not some level of indoctrination.

-When Shepard wakes up at the end of Destroy, he/she is waking up in London, after being hit with the laser.

Furthermore the way the game ends, it's impossible to do story continuing episodes like ME2 had, but recently a ME2 producer wrote on twitter that people will not want to sell their copies when they find out the DLC that's being planned for ME3.

Also depending on your choices in ME2 and this game Tali might take her mask off and commit suicide

in my story tali is dead, so it was just the other one who shot herself. that other general. i got a race slaughtered and i feel kinda bad about it...

the other way round, you would've got all the Geth killed

:pinch:

i figured that, but the geth are man made, so i woudln't feel as bad. i just liked legion more cause of the way he said sheppard commander (i thought it was funny) but than he ended up dying anyways so that didn't work... but i figure a geth army would be better than a quarian so eh

Personally this Surface Ultra Cassis reminds me a bit of Razor. It would be interesting if it could handle proper gaming and be 17 inch.
    • No idea, frankly, I'm not into minimum requirements gaming, but it would be an interesting test to find out. Also, I just have to point out that it wasn't my intention to downplay the performance of DXVK on Linux or Linux gaming in general (despite my own experience being a bit of a mixed bag). I just thought it would be good to point out that DXVK is not Linux exclusive and that you can benefit from using it even in Windows.
    • Fastfetch 2.64 released bringing new logos and other improvements by David Uzondu Fastfetch, the popular command-line system information tool that developers created as a fast alternative to the classic Neofetch utility, has updated its codebase to version 2.64, bringing experimental scripting power, streamlined compilation options, a smarter logo renderer, and Codec module support. As noted earlier, Fastfetch can now detect hardware-accelerated video codecs across Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android through this new Codec module. On Linux and BSD, the utility uses VA-API by default, with a fallback to VDPAU on Nvidia hardware if compiled with libva and libvdpau. Windows users get D3D12VA on Windows 11 or D3D11VA with Media Foundation Transforms on older systems, while macOS relies on VideoToolbox and Android utilizes AMediaCodec. You can manually toggle Vulkan Video via the config file, and the program will report both encoders and decoders unless configured otherwise. Logo support for Quasar, Origami, Origami_small, NixOS2, and BerserkArch also landed in this release. BerserkArch, if you have never heard of it, is a specialized Arch Linux derivative that targets security researchers and power users. This distro comes with an offensive security tool manager, simply called berserk, which allows users to install complex hacking toolkits with single terminal commands. Moving on, Fastfetch now has experimental scripting options for custom formats using Lua or QuickJS. The Lua integration supports versions 5.3 through 5.5, sharing a single interpreter instance across all modules so you can store variables globally. T Alternatively, if you prefer JavaScript, you can use QuickJS-ng version 0.15.0 or newer to evaluate your custom formats with the qjs: prefix. Other changes that version 2.64 brings include native CMake compilation flags to disable specific modules to shrink the final binary size. Users can delete unwanted ASCII logo files directly from the source directory before building to save additional space. The format engine now boasts ANSI-escape awareness, meaning you can center text with the new vertical bar specifier without breaking colored outputs. Haiku users receive preliminary support for boot manager, window manager theme, screen brightness, and other basic properties. Finally, the Linux edition now extracts desktop wallpaper and theme details from the modern COSMIC desktop environment.
