You know, thats the problem with nerds. They think specs are everything.

yeah it's retarded all the android fanboys come out blasting the iphone cause they have dual core phones and quad cores coming out but their OS runs like ass but they don't care about that because on paper their phones are better then an iphone...

Why are we taking the browser benchmarks seriously? People should know better than the browser benchmarks are only down to the actual browsers themselves. The Honeycomb browser in Android is clearly better than that which is with Gingerbread.

the phone browser crashes/lag even more then the HC one..?

Why not? It demonstrates that clock speed doesn't mean much.

A few others already clarified if further for you, but you should at least know the background of these things before trying to make a comparison. Even on an outsider view, you're comparing an old gen cpu to a current gen cpu. This thread is comparing current gen to current gen.

Since I have a pretty good start with rhetorical comments in this thread… How do you explain that Safari 5.1 on my 27" iMac is so much faster than the one on my 13" MacBook Pro ? Only down to the browsers themselves, sure, sure…

At this point, it isn’t even necessary to add that a lot of the mobile browsers out there rely on Apple’s Webkit engine… If Google modifies it to get a worse score, it’s not Apple’s problem, nor the benchmarks maker here.

The OS doesn't "run like ass" .. try using it instead of reading Android hater reviews and I'm sure you'll agree.

look at my sig and come back to me... or go here

if you want i can take a picture of me holding my transformer if that doesn't convince you?

Try reading my later post explaining why I made the comparison.. I'm not thick, you don't have to explain it to me slowly

You have a tablet - that's not the same as a smartphone and doesn't run the same version of the OS.

You have a tablet - that's not the same as a smartphone and doesn't run the same version of the OS.

and the tablet should run better right? Cause it's tegra 2 with 1gb of RAM and HC is hardware accelerated... but it still runs like crap. this benchmarks compares tablet too so i don't see why you tried to cover up your mistake and say use a phone...

It doesn't run like crap on my phone ... runs buttery smooth and does everything I want it to do.

Look at everyone here fighting over basically numbers. Really, when it comes down to it:

BUY WHAT YOU LIKE.

Android honeycomb probably does run like crap.. I haven't used it so can't possibly comment.

This thread is talking about the iPhone so when making comparisons I presumed we were talking about smartphones, not tablets.

Gingerbread is smooth as anything on my SGS2.. nothing really slows it down.

In fact, I've had it for a month now and it's frozen on me once. That's better than I can say for most of my devices past and present!

Is this really surprising? iOS is built for one device - the iPhone. Therefore the iPhone can be optimized to take advantage of the hardware more efficiently than Android. Android is an OS built for hundreds of devices to run on. It is not optimized for a single CPU or GPU.

it's comparing the new iphone to other mobile devices INCLUDING tablets (well android devices anyways)... so including tablets is fair.

the simplest way to tell how bad slow android OS is compared to iOS is take both devices, and swipe your finger back and forth on the home screen over and over again really fast. one keeps up with ease, the other, not even close.

Well I guess this is a prime example of Android fragmentation.. my phone is awesome and your tablet runs like crap. :D

it sucks :( but games and apps run amazing on it though :( some of the graphics this thing can pull off are amazing. i just wish I could say the same thing about the OS. i love the OS UI and what not, i just hate that it's sooo effin slow compared to iOS.

I don't have that problem on the SGS2 running go launcher ex with five home screens. Could be something to do with the screen resolution? I expect it's much lower on the SGS2.

I've only ever had a 1st gen iPhone and that was pretty damn slow towards the time when I decided to sell it, so I can't really say anything about the current iPhones but the SGS2 is like lightning compared to the iPhone v1 :p Shocker! :p

I think this was just flamebait by Anandtech.

There are people who are getting far better scores on their Android phones than listed in that graph.

it could be that anandtech are using stock roms and not modded ones like the ones others are using?

    • Microsoft's fast coding model MAI-Code-1-Flash comes to Copilot Business and Enterprise by Karthik Mudaliar Microsoft’s recently announced MAI-Code-1-Flash model is now generally available to GitHub Copilot Business and Copilot Enterprise customers. With this support, organizations can have more centralized policy controls and billing while finally being able to use Microsoft’s lightweight, first-party coding model. According to GitHub’s announcement, Business and Enterprise plan administrators must enable the MAI-Code-1-Flash policy in Copilot settings before developers can access the model. Microsoft says that MAI-Code-1-Flash is for fast, iterative coding work rather than the most demanding architectural or debugging tasks. GitHub’s official model comparison page says that the model is great for "general-purpose coding and writing," while it excels at fast, accurate code completions and explanations Microsoft introduced MAI-Code-1-Flash on June 2 as part of a broader collection of internally developed MAI models. GitHub subsequently expanded support to Copilot CLI, the Copilot cloud agent, GitHub.com chat, GitHub Mobile, Visual Studio, JetBrains IDEs, Eclipse, and Xcode, but said support for managed Business and Enterprise customers was still on the way. In Microsoft’s own benchmark testing, MAI-Code-1-Flash scored 51.2% on SWE-Bench Pro, compared with 35.2% for Anthropic’s Claude Haiku 4.5. Microsoft also claimed that the model used up to 60% fewer tokens on SWE-Bench Verified. Do note that these are vendor-run results rather than independent measurements. The model is billed at provider list pricing under GitHub’s usage-based system. GitHub currently lists MAI-Code-1-Flash at $0.75 per million input tokens, $0.075 per million cached input tokens, and $4.50 per million output tokens. For organizations, the main incentive to use MAI-Code-1-Flash is likely to be efficiency rather than maximum capability. A smaller model that responds quickly and limits unnecessary output is quite useful for repetitive agent tasks at scale, especially after GitHub Copilot’s move toward usage-based billing. The "Flash" model is recommended for fast work and not necessarily for huge repositories with loads of context. It's better if teams compare their output with other larger models, especially if they're working on security-sensitive changes and complex, multi-file work.
    • yes AND no the "original" or plain/normal Optiplex 7010 won't be getting any more new firmware updates BUT the Optiplex SFF/SFF Plus {small form factor}, Micro/Micro Plus & Tower/Tower Plus 7010 editions DO get new updates such as this new one   and here are similar guides from the Dell web site for Dell systems: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000390990/secure-boot-transition-faq https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000347876/microsoft-2011-secure-boot-certificate-expiration
