nwBen
I just thought of this recently, but since i dont have Longhorn to try it, I thought I'd see if anyone else wanted to try it. It will only work if you had XP on the same system that you have just installed Longhorn on. 1. In Windows XP, go to 'C:\windows\system32' and backup wpa.dbl to a floppy disk (it contains your activation history and your hardware IDs - that is why it will only work on the same PC as XP was on). 2. Install your copy of Windows Longhorn. 3. When the activation screen starts bitching, press 'Activate Later' - or sumfin like that. 4. When Longhorn is running normally and you have setup all your devices, go back into 'C:\windows\system32' and replace 'wpa.dbl' with your backed up copy of 'wpa.dbl'. If I was smart enough, this would have worked and stopped Activation from bitching every time you boot. If this does NOT work ......Oh well, at least I tried. Please let me know how this goes.
