Does anyone else have these weird random links on the news page in neowin? or do I have some kind of weird adware on my computer? One of the links says its bad to pirate software and to tell someone if i know anyone doing it. The other is an ad for symantec antivirus. Both of these links seem to not pertain to the article at all, which raised a flag in my head.

I've noticed over the last couple of days that certain words are highlighted on pages all over NeoWin and other sites, and when I click on them I get taken to parasitic advertising sites.

I've run adaware and nothing, not a thing. What else could be causing this other than that horrid little parasite adware programs?

i've wondered that too...

it seems to happen at many news sites, so my guess is, it's not spyware, but a 'feature' written into those news manager's code...

i dunno though, i haven't looked into it much.

They've been there for a while. It's part of the advertising scheme with Neowin and other places.

I only noticed once, because I usually use Firebird.
