Right now all the Server 2003 files total 162 MB. The Shell32 alone is 106 MB.

An SP1 port would be about the same size.

Why not use the lite packs instead?? There is no need really to use the icons that are 256x256 or whatever the size is. By using the lite pack u will greatly reduce the file sizes.

And it is the same icons in both packs, only difference is the max size.

i agree.. who *really* needs 256x256 icons??? if they DO, then im sure its for 10-15 icons max, which they can set on their own anyway using IP or whatever..

128x128 is MORE than enough for everyone who wants true quality, and even then, i'd think is way too big..

for myself, 48x48 is really the largest ill ever see them.. but at 128, the size would be twice as less, and thats always a plus.. (Y)

just something for the person porting them to SP1 to think about..

while we on that, who IS porting them right now? cuz if everyones waiting for someone else to do it, then i doubt we'll get them soon..

I never knew the 256x256 icons ported into the Shell32. Are you sure they do?

I'm not pleased with the file size myself, and it's very messy for my tastes (I'm a perfectionist). Eventually I'll get around to redoing everything and cleaning up icons that don't really need to be there. Until then, this is all I have to offer.

Yes, they do have 256x256 32bits icon in those Shell32.dll (Windows 2003). The one I rebuilt for XP-SP1(Shell32.dll) is only 12.1MB.

Hi jlund, if it OK if I post Shell32.dll for WindowsXP Pro SP1 rebuilt from your Shell32.dll? Let me know, if it's ok, I will post it.

Thanks,

GOOD GOD MAN WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR???!

but wait.. 12mb?? you sure all the avi's and icons (normal ones tho, not 128px) are there? ALL OF THEM?

if so, post away... yipeee

Hi jlund,

I saw the picture you post, it look like you replaced the the original Tools bar icon(204.bmp-217.bmp) in Shell32.dll with GANT icons. But when I open your Shell32.dll, I didn't find any change in the Bitmap session. I'm wondering how can you make the GANT tools bar without replace those Bitmap?

I'm looking to make a perfect one for WindowsXP SP1 with all GANT icons in both Icons and Bitmap session. I try to make one myself, but the problem is the background on those icon(204.bmp-217.bmp) is not transparent. I'm not sure how to make it transparent. I already try to make the background in black color(0,0,0) like the original one, but it's still not working. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Thanks,

As mentioned before, the icons you're talking about were replaced using Y'z Toolbar. I didn't worry about them.

    • I did that to a work colleague many years ago when he left it logged in. Unfortunately I was out of the office the next day, and even the IT department was stumped lol. Got a bit of a bollocking when I got back into the office, but, by god, it was worth it.
