from microsoft's website, its part of the powertoys package.

here's some little buggies i found. this is in windows explorer, as you can see the "Up One Level" and "Views" button have some weird artifacts in normal mode, and it disappears when you move your mouse over.

WinXP SP1. so would you be the one to fix this Kasteo?

I'm working on the newer version now. I have replace throbber with GANT icon and some system icon change. Please list all the bug you found so I can fix and release it in one time.

I'm also working on MSN Messenger 6.1 GANT edition. Not sure when it will be done though.

:)

Here is what I fixed so far :

1) Change the throbber with GANT icon.

2) Fix find folder as the icon for music folder.

3) Fix ! icon when try to empty the Recycle bin (change ! icon to Trash full icon).

* For the "Up One Level" and "Views" button have some weird artifacts in normal mode, I didn't see any on my screen (both laptop and desktop). Can anyother confirm this bug?

Please list anyother bugs you found, so I can fix it all at once before release it.

You have those problem in 16bit screen because I use some optimize to the icon file in this Shell32.dll to make its size as small as it could be. They contain only the icon that original shell32.dll have(both size and colour bit). Most icons in this Shell32.dll have only 32bit, 8bit, and 4bit colour. There is no 16bit colour icons in this Shell32.dll. So, when you are using 16bit screen, I believe windows engine will choose the lower bit for you which is 8bit(256 colours).

I put the old shell32.dll (original from win xp) and the problem with 16bit is here yet. I use rebuild (tweak UI) icon for install gant icons, then my problem started. So... i have to reinstall win to get 16bit icon ???

from readme:

Don't forget:

Clear your system32\dllcache\ folder before replacing Shell32.dll

I have to remove all files from dllcache??? 300mb of files ???? mmm my win will not run more

Thanks,

I have this problem too when using small icons in the toolbar. No problems with large icons though...

Someone can tell me if i have to clear all files from system32\dllcache???? My computer, my documents have the original icon

For this you just have to clear the system files you're trying to overwrite.

I just deleted shell32.dll from my dllcache and it's working fine (so far).

Actually it was kind of tricky to get this working as I was experiencing the same desktop icon problem. To remedy this I tried using the Replacer tool (the link can be found within this thread) and after a reboot and icon rebuild, they were working fine.

i have no idea why my icons are still not changed

i have used tweakui and replacer to do it , still keep showing those old Foood's iCandy Junior icons

Are you, by any chance, using other icon programs like Iconpackager, IconPhile or E-Icons?

Also, did you try my method of replacing the shell32 file?

Personally, I always do it the manual way, so I can't provide much help with Replacer.

What I usually do is this:

(1) Backup default shell32.dll file.

(2) Boot into Safe Mode (press F8 while booting).

(3) Go to Windows\system32 folder and rename shell32.dll file to shell32.bak

(4) Copy the GANT shell32.dll to this folder.

(5) Go to Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386 folder and rename shell32.dll to shell32.bak.

(6) Copy the GANT shell32.dll to this folder.

(7) Reboot.

(8) If icons don't change, rebuild the icon cache using TweakUI.

Ok i used replacer to change the shell file for gants now my question is my music and my pictures folder have not changes same with my computer. Now my computer looks in the explorer file can i just point it to the shell file and pic one from there, but how do i change the other 2 folders. Also is there going to be a explorer file done as well.

Thanks. P.S This shell is great :woot:

OK... here is what I've fixed in this GANT shell suit...

1) Change the throbber with GANT icon.

2) Fix find folder as the icon for music folder.

3) Fix ! icon when try to empty the Recycle bin (change ! icon to Trash full icon).

4) Fix"Up One Level" and "Views" button (in small icons) have some weird artifacts.

5) Add GANT icon in this files (most common) :

- explorer.exe

- iexplore.exe

- SHDOCVW.DLL

- mydocs.dll

- zipfldr.dll

*** I've decided not to replace GANT icons in every single file that need because the Zip file will be too big and you can do those youself very easy.

Please let me know anyother error by this Friday. If there is no error report then I will release it in this Friday.

Thanks,

Did you try rebuilding your icon cache with TweakUI?

Big Thanks, Kasteo

I know how much of effort & time it takes for one to change the icons (even using a restorator, modifying & moving pictures around takes time when working on multiple images & files). I once changed 80+ system & program files to MMX icons only using ResHack (before finding out about a restorator, took me several days). Again, thanks for your effort and they look great.

    • Edifier S3000MKII hi-fi audiophile grade bookshelf speaker is at its lowest price now by Sayan Sen Yesterday we covered a bunch of Dolby Atmos soundbar deals with several ones from Sony, as well as from JBL, Samsung, Polk Audio, and more. You can check them out in this dedicated piece. Those are not audiophile category speakers though as they are built with home theater use in mind. If you are searching for the former then Edifier has its S3000MKII at its lowest price at the moment (purchase link under the specs table down below). This is a two-way bookshelf monitor speaker designed to produce accurate sound. While it may not produce the best high-fidelity audio possible out there, it should still be significantly better than what you will get on soundbars of this price range. As such it will do justice to high-res audio played back through it. The only thing that may feel lacking is sub-bass as Edifier claims the unit can go down to 38 Hz, which should be enough for studio monitor purposes, but not for deep room-shaking rumbling bass. Where this does excel though is in its treble reproduction. With its super-tweeter, it claims to go as high as 40 kHz in the frequency spectrum, which should offer a sense of "air"yness. This is an active speaker which means it packs its own amplfication. It has a top-notch Class D amp that may be able to rival many Class AB designs too in terms of sound reproduction quality. The technical specs of the Edifier S3000MKII are given in the table below: Specification Value RMS Output Power 256W RMS (Treble: 8W × 2, Mid-Low: 120W × 2) Tweeter Driver 107mm × 107mm Planar Magnetic Tweeter Mid-Low Driver 6.5-inch (179mm) Long-Throw Aluminum Diaphragm Driver Frequency Response 38Hz – 40kHz Signal-to-Noise Ratio ≥ 85dB (A) Bluetooth Version Bluetooth 5.0 Bluetooth Codec Qualcomm® aptX™ HD Wireless Speaker Link Proprietary 5.8GHz wireless connection between speakers Supported Hi-Res Audio Hi-Res Audio Certified, up to 24-bit/192kHz Digital Processing XMOS XU216 Digital Signal Processor Audio Inputs Balanced XLR, Optical, Coaxial, USB Type-B, Line In, Bluetooth Input Sensitivity (USB) 400 ± 50mFFs Input Sensitivity (Optical) 400 ± 50mFFs Input Sensitivity (Coaxial) 400 ± 50mFFs Input Sensitivity (Bluetooth) 450 ± 50mFFs Input Sensitivity (Balanced XLR) 1000 ± 50mV Input Sensitivity (Line In) 600 ± 50mV ADC Capability Up to 24-bit/192kHz DSP Capability Up to 24-bit/192kHz DIX Capability Up to 24-bit/216kHz DAC Capability Up to 32-bit/384kHz XMOS Processing Power Up to 2,000 MIPS Edifier S3000MKII Audiophile Active (Powered) Wireless Speakers: $799.99 (Sold by Edifier US, Shipped by Amazon US) If you do not have the kind of budget to spend on the S3000MKII, you can also check out the Edifier R1280Ts which is right now on sale at just $114 (its lowest price in a very long time).
