I don't like how they autopick the colors at this point. It is too enthusiastic with the warm and brights.

I don't use autopick, I expect many others won't either, just pick one color and stick with it for me.

Are there any visual changes in that build? I don't notice any.

Doesn't seem like it, I expect we'll have to wait for something even newer, maybe in the 85xx range or more.

I must admit that RP looks really good, and installing a start menu app is brilliant to have ye olde normal start menu available... the OS is snappy and very quick, BUT.... I am experiencing quite a few lockups...! CP was actually more stable in my opinion... if I get any more lockups, I am back to Win 7... and will wait for the final release of Win8.

Not a bad looking option but the res isn't higher than the default needed for metro snap to work. They should at least try and do some with like, 1600x900 or something if they can't do full 1920x1080.

If you really hate Metro, this is a must for you to try:

http://bbs.pcbeta.com/viewthread-1057890-1-1.html

Remember

1. If you find yourself missing the Metro? Don't worry, reboot and things become normal again.

2. remember, remember: the hot key Alt-F4, you will need it.

Have fun!!

Update:

I have uploaded the zip file in MDL:

http://forums.mydigi...eak-from-PCBeta

On launching the tweak:

1. You will get nothing when hoovering the mouse over the screen's 4 corners, nor the win+C hotkey.

2. When trying to open music/photo, etc, with a metro apps, it will give a "fail to call program" error.

3. It works with ViStart, I presume it should work with Classic Shell too, but Start8 is basically all-apps metro page on desktop, so i don't know if it would work.

I have not tried it in depth, so I don't know if it would bring bad effects on Windows OS. try it at your own risk.

    • I spent a good 15 min today trying to get new Outlook to use my default browser instead of forcing links into Edge. That kinda tactic is shady and it sucks.

    • Also try installing an alternative browser on ChromeOS. You have to enable dev mode and run it as a Linux app. Clunky.
