Well, akin to these threads:

and specially this one:

Neowinians are very knowledgeable when it comes to music... So as teh title states, what classical songs that are fast paced/aggressive would your recommend?

on the likes of:

Sergei Rachmaninov - Rach 2, Rach 3.

Carmina Burna - O forturna, Tempus est Iocondum.

Muse - Piano thing ( short but orgasm good !!! )

Bach - double violin concerto vivace

Chopin - Ballade in g minor.

Sabre Dance - Aram Khachaturian (

Liszt: Gnomenreigen played by Rachmaninoff is AMAZING!

Rise of teh walkeryies.

etc.

I'll butt in this thread to admit I don't have a good knowledge of classics like Chopin but I'm a sucker for dramatic videogame music. I often find it very moving, though I admit it's rarely if ever withstanding the complexity of pieces by old classical masters.

Here's a couple I could recommend whatsoever:

Frej Bjon - Encounter With Mass Destruction (from Immortal Empire)

Andrew Barnabas & Paul Arnold - Return To The Graveyard (from MediEvil)

Andrew Barnabas & Paul Arnold - Escape From The Cathedral (from MediEvil 2)

Andrew Barnabas & Paul Arnold - The Ripper (from MediEvil 2)

Andrew Barnabas & Paul Arnold - The Count (from MediEvil 2)

Andrew Barnabas & Paul Arnold - Comedy Corpses (from MediEvil: Resurrection)

Andrew Barnabas & Paul Arnold - George The Pumpkin (from MediEvil: Resurrection)

(in fact, the soundtrack of MediEvil games is the most epic of all time in my book, these are just the faster-paced ones)

Jason Hayes et al. - Shaping Of The World (from WoW)

And some trailer music that is not trash (pun intended):

Two Steps From Hell - Clash Of Empires (first part)

Two Steps From Hell - Birth Of A Hero

Well nothing specific, but either way you should check him out!

He re-interprets current music in a classical way.

If you happen to like something like that with Rock'n'Roll style results: The Baseballs are for you! :)

Both David Garrett and The Baseballs are German! (Y)

Makes me a little proud :p

Glassed Silver:win

I'm a fan of some of the modern orchestral music - a prime example is Thomas Bergersen, and his album "Illusions".

Two Steps from Hell is amazing (Thomas Bergersen is one of the composers) - check out the "Invincible" album, as well as the recently released "Archangel" album.

Fast paced? Well on the piano I recommend

Mozart (K331)t Rondo alla turca- I've been learning it on the piano the past few days

and it is fast paced, the point of the piece is the constant repetition of each phrase with variations at the conclusion

very powerful and well known- also quite simple

As you mentioned muse, I recommend the small phrase in the middle of Butterflies and hurricanes (great song!)

Also Mozart symphony No.40 - 4th movement

I've loved this symphony for awhile now, if your looking for fast paced movement 4 is loud, aggressive but a still greatly structured conclusion (Like all mozart)

I am a little confused though, do you want classical-romantic-baroque? Or are you just generalizing everything as a whole to be classical?

If so I'd look for a alot of bach, alot of the baroque is pretty crazy. Baroque is polyphonic so there's alot going on and Bach is your man.

Also go for some Beethoven, his 5th most well known- (dun dun dun duuuuuuuuun) is just amazing classically structured but still expressed in a more romantic form.

And of course Chopin, my favorite artist definitely look into his ballad's stanza's and etude. Brilliant

@ Danisflying i'm afraid my musical taste is pretty much limited to "listening", thus I consider myself ignorant on differentiating classical-romantic-baroque I really don't know I just love listening to it. Love to learn if you wish :)

So I guess any fast paced "classical" is welcome, until I can fully differentiate them

Some of Prokofievs songs are quite aggresive.

This too!

Both awesome!

Escala is really really awesome. The whole CD is really addicting.

TSO is also probably the best in the business for classical remakes (Beethoven mostly).

already listened to TSO thanks anyway! I'll give eScala a listen now.

I hope you can forgive me for this, but I would check out the soundtrack from the movie Twister:

This is a REALLY poor example, it's just impossibly hard to find on Youtube. It's a phenomenal CD, I listen to it my car then feel like a **** for thinking how awesome it is :p

I would also take a look at all of E.S. Posthumus' work. A lot of their stuff is superb (if slightly off the "classical" path occasionally):

You might recognise that from the Cold Case intro.

Not exactly classical, but definitely worth a look.

Yeah! I have heard it in cold case! Didn't pay much attention really! Not classical per se, but amazing none the less!

The Four Seasons - Vivaldi

Funny thing is... I love vivaldi spring... Never bothered to listen to the rest of the seasons :s

Here's some really fast piano playing that'll blow your mind.

Horowitz plays Carmen Fantasie (I believe it is by him):

Prokofiev's Toccata op.11:

Chopin Etude Op.10 by Sviatoslav Richter (my favorite):

This is stupidly fast:

Wow! Profokiev is amazing!!!

And Sviatoslav ritchers hands! Whoa!

    • So.... slower fixes and slower security updates are preferred? I mean, there is no goldilocks zone here until it can literally update without ever needing a restart, and even then I'm sure someone would complain.
