Welcome to the October Desktops Thread. You regulars will be familiar with the rules by now but for those of you who are new to the game read on.

Posting Guidelines:

  • If you plan to img-embed your desktop, please try to keep it at/under 1024x768 and under 100k (It's recommended that you link it, externally)
  • Stay within the board rules, no matter how yummy you may believe it to be
  • If you are going to quote, there isn't a need to quote an img-embeded picture - Just don't do it. Please just reference the post by page number/page link/etc.
  • Off Topic Posts will be edited or removed.
  • The desktops thread is not to be used as a means to post images of a pornographic or otherwise provocative nature. We do not support a babes forum and neither will we in an unofficial capacity. Please help to keep the thread relevant and safe to browse for everyone.
  • The moderators of this forum reserve the right to edit or remove your posts as necessary so they may comply with our Community Ruleset.
  • In the interests of keeping the thread on topic it is strongly urged that you format your posts in the following order:
  • Visual Style: Name/where you got it(with link would be nice)
  • Wallpaper: Name/where you got it(with link would be nice)
  • Icons: Name/where you got it(with link would be nice)
  • Programs: Name/where you got it(with link would be nice)

Icons: iCandy Junior (With Some Custom And Converted By Me).

Samurize: By Me (Current Weather, Hardrive Space, iPod Space, Free Memory, Date/Time).

Rainlender: By Me (Calender To Match Samurize).

Start Menu Mod: By Me (Opens Up iPod Contents In Windows Explorer).

[Animated Picture - Image Size Reduced...]

Visual Style: Reluna (able to find in the completed visual styles section)

Wallpaper: GANT wall (in the gant iconpackage XxDesmus_MODxX send me..thanks..)

Icons: Umicons and Gant(custmizing section can get you these, search..)

Programs: Rainlender with moderna skin (the skin is available in the customizing section i believe)

no.. i'm just joking :) a full desktop is quite useful, you have access to all the tools u need, but im going to have a nice clear desk with reluna and a nice wallpaper :happy:

But one question -> where did some of you got these cute little play, pause, stop icons for winamp in their taskbar ?

      There is nothing wrong with this title. You have completely missed the plot when it comes to "clickbait." The issue was never that a title tries to entice you to click, that is how titles have worked for over 100 years. The issue is when the title subverts expectations, getting you to click expecting something that isn't there. The classic clickbait example is "Boyfriend caught cheating, what happens next will shock you," then what happened next is the girlfriend was upset...which is probably the least shocking outcome imaginable. If sounds like what you want is for the titles to be a collection of 10-word summaries that you can skim, get the just of the story, and only click if you want more details. That is not, never has been, and never will be what titles are. You can go all the way back to print newspapers during the great depression and see the same thing. The newspaper was locked in a vending machine, all you can see is the headline, you choose to put in 5¢ to buy the paper and read the rest if you want. Those headlines were written in a way to sell the paper, not just to provide a summery. Here are two actual headlines from that time, "Wall Street Lays an Egg," or "Stocks Hit Bottom?" Maybe you'd say something like "it was wrong then and it's still wrong now." Okay, fine opinion to have, but it isn't like Neowin is doing something unjurnalistic, they are just following the age-old standards for written media.
