At that price, the IPS panels you picked are beyond what's in the cinema displays. you're probably talking High end Eizo panels that photographers and such use then. The Cinema screens are nice, and good, but not that good.

two similar Dell Ultrasharp 24" IPS panels cost me $550 a piece! that's $1100 there, and that doesn't come with built in webcams either that takes me up to $6,700 after shipping... if we are talking $7,300 for a mac, that's only around $700 difference with those monitors add in the windows license and we're back at the same $500ish difference again... we want to compare apple 27" thunderbolt screens instead of a 24" cinema display, we are talking $999 from dell and apple both

Well, when you sell the most overpriced, ridiculously expensive electronic equipment in the history of the world, you're bound to make a lot of money.

And if it was that easy then every company would sell overpriced, ridiculously expensive electronic equipment. Most of them have tried and failed. The market decides what something is worth, and people have decided that Apple computers are worth their prices. Just because you don't agree doesn't make it bad or wrong

Not surprising since with the iPhone, you have to upgrade every year to get new features most common in all other phones. Like a camera, multi tasking, and probably with the new iPhone 5, 4g.

Come on! You're telling me phones have had their cameras upgraded over the air? What about the issues where OEM's aren't allowing Android OS upgrades? That pretty much forces people to buy their latest android phone knocked off their conveyor belt of similar devices with marginally better features every 3 months.

You're talking about Apple's revenue, but saying "Apple revenue bigger than all of Microsoft" means exactly that.

Actually what was said was Apple's iPhone revenue was bigger than all of Microsoft's revenue for the same quarter, which is exactly true.

Xeons are a different chip when you start putting through more demanding workloads. The i7 etc are great chips but the Xeons are a different league. Also bear in mind the Mac Pro is a workstation not a desktop pc. You would have to compare the Mac Pro to the workstations from HP or Dell. The desktop computers for Apple are iMacs and Mac Mini's

As for the thread, interesting fact but doesn't change anything, microsoft and apple will still carry on making great products, I'm sure this info isn't going to change Windows 8 and I'm sure this isn't going to change the iPad 3.
