redvamp128
If you can't come up with something new- Reboot something old.... Though why on earth with all the Superman and Batman movies they are doing the boot again....they just don't do a Justice League .... This would bring a few New to the table. McCordRm
I'm digging the hell out of the press on this one. Superman Returns was awesome, for Superman... not Lex. I thought they completely went stupid with his character. But the "human" angle on Superman was great. They could have gone darker with it, of course, but overall I liked the whole voyeur thing when he was listening in on Lois. I mean.. who WOULDN'T take advantage of that. Seriously. So when the press talks about edging towards darkness with Superman.. yea, I get excited. I want to see it from Superman's angle-- what "shouldn't" I do with my powers-- and from the public's perspective-- just how trusting should we be of this guy. As an example, imagine if Jesus actually did come back today. Some guy that could walk on water and cure the sick... if he wasn't burned as a witch, he'd be trampled under the masses trying to get his attention. I think it would make for a very dark, very real look into human nature. +Dick Montage 1 Share
fix-this!
:s Whats wrong with that? because you cannot "ground" or make superman "to realistic" per say as they did with batman. they just assume because batman was huge success the formula will work for man of steel. sadly i don't think it will but i won't pass judgment until i see a full trailer. McCordRm
First... he's an alien. Secondly, nothing Batman does is supernatural like flying or heat vision. fix-this! 1 Share
+SOOPRcow MVC Posted October 7, 2012 MVC Share Posted October 7, 2012 They didn't say it was going to be non-supernatural, they said it was more going to be along the lines of "How would people react to this? What impact would the presence of Superman in the real world have?? IceBreakerG 1 Share
McCordRm
Did you read your own question? You asked how they can't make it "in such a way", as in more realistic per the question you quoted.
Lamp0
:s Whats wrong with that? There's not nesscarily anything wrong with it, but I'd rather see these characters in their own world with a bit more of fantasy to it. fix-this! 1 Share

McCordRm
Yea, I'm not digging the new outfit at all. But hey... we'll see how it plays out. I mean the emphasis here (from what I've read) is that he IS an alien, and they're running with that.

Something also to note the colors of Superman were not always Red White and Blue. (not to mention the original mask for the Lone Ranger was purple (due to the dullness of the mask black would bring) And now we know why-- Superman used to wear shorts over his suit. remixedcat 1 Share

Muhammad Farrukh
Man of Steel Features "Superman You've Never Seen Before" Director Zack Snyder discusses his "more serious version" of Superman. As well as discussing the legacy of Watchmen, director Zack Snyder has been teasing another one of his comic book adaptations this week ? namely Man of Steel. Speaking to the LA Times, Snyder explained ?It?s a more serious version of Superman. It?s not like a heart attack. We took the mythology seriously. We take him as a character seriously. I believe the movie would appeal to anyone. I think that you?re going to see a Superman you?ve never seen before.? As for his fascination with the character, Snyder says it?s ?because he?s the father of all superheroes.? ?What was it about him that cracked the code that made pop culture embrace this other mythology? What we?ve made as a film not only examines that but is also an amazing adventure story. It?s been an honour to work on. As a comic book fan, Superman is like the Rosetta Stone of all superheroes. I wanted to be sure the movie treated it respectfully.? Man of Steel is released on June 14.
