This game is amazing. Got 3 days vacation on Wed last week, so I was able to put in a good 48 hours roughly into the game :)

Pretty far I'd think. 2nd Island open and almost all explored, and almost had all the guns and craftable items.

I love the squirrel suit. Almost any hill I find, I try to use it, which usually end up with me face planting, which is too funny.

I love how random EVERYTHING is. I can easily do a mission undetected, or just go balls to the wall with fire and bullets.

Once while attacking a group of guys, another group of dragons came roaming out and decided I needed some help... I let the lizards live :p

Another time, had a cheeta chasing a deer as I was just perched above a river on a rock. The cheetah caught the deer near the water, then an aligator caught the cheetah. Was way to intense.

Anybody else think LMG' are overpowered?

I use that as my anti-animal weapon on my stealth setup. Basically I run with a silenced sniper rifle, the bow, a rocket launcher (just in case I need to disable a vehicle) and a LMG.....whenever a tiger or leopard sneaks up on me (or is getting too close for comfort), I break out the LMG and kill them before they can move. I rarely every use it against human enemies though.....only when there are lots of them inside my comfort zone and aware of my presence.

That being said, I'm fairly confident I could charge into any camp I've seen with a LMG and kill all the enemies before they could hit an alarm if I wanted to, so yes it does seem maybe a bit overpowered but whatever, I don't use it that often.

The SPAZ Shotgun is similar, I just storm around a camp or outpost. The only issue I have is with the heavy soldiers, but some C4 sorts that out :D

I find the spaz useful when I stumble across a vehicle heading my way, just jump out and rip of a few spaz shots.

Like, Silenced Sniper. Watching released caged Animals clearing the outposts. Sniping drivers in moving cars, The weed mission. Dying while raiding a camp you start with same Ammo on respawn.

Dislike, how Squirrelling across a outpost, your health disappears Instantly while being shot at,.

Anyone notice the

reference. " I'm glad I'm not on the island with the dinosaurs " or is it reference to

Crynosaurs

Game has about 15 solid hours of gameplay without the sidequest, and with a little hunting to increase your backpacks. Great game though, and I'm still playing it after I beat it.

This will be my first Far Cry (I know, I know), so after the main and side quests are done there's still plenty to do? or.."reset"/"new game"?

Epic game, just about done now just a few odds n ends to clear up. I would recommend people to try their darndest to leave outposts til the end of the game when you have all of your perks, cause it's no fun when you've just got all the best takedowns and weapons and then there's no more outposts to do as I found :/

Just now trying to do the mission where you must photograph dead soldiers, beginning to think it is more of a trial of wingsuit discipline so far more than anything else as I just keep getting so bored I try to wingsuit and end up dead.. Tried 6 times now..

Anyone on PC want to do some coop? I'm finding it very hard to find anyone reliable to play with, let alone anyone that communicates and/or plays for the team and not him/herself.

Uplay is LordLOC or Steam is just LOC. Add me if you wanna get some insanity coop going on PC :)

Everyone still loving the game after having it for some time? Any rough estimate on how long it took you guys to "beat it" - as far as the main story goes. I am pretty sure this is sitting under the tree for me I'm just having to wait, very impatiently.

It took me 27hrs to complete the game and you can play past the ending, so there's more to do. You could probably blast through the main mission is about 10-15hrs, so it just depends how you want to play it. Next I've got to try the co-op.

Yeah, I'm always looking for decent co-op friends. What timezone are you in? I searched for LOC on Steam but lots of results came up. If you want to add me just search for "theyarecomingforyou" - my profile name is "[1381] Jonas". :)

I don't know why people wants to ditch uPlay, I bought the game on steam and it doesn't bother me one bit. Never had an issue.

I don't see any need for it, nor does it particularly bother me. It's much less annoying than GFWL for starters.

New to series, just got it and finished my first few quests; questions:

1) Is there a "quest log" of sorts, or is it one quest at a time (including side stuff) where I'm looking to turn in my first hunting quest but will accepting a new one cancel this? Is there a menu I am missing to keep track of this?

2) I am looking to turn in a side quest to an NPC, but he is not located/showing up on the map to mark as a waypoint (Dr. Earnheardt).

I'm dumb

played through the game on hardest difficulty but now im stuck

on the plane where you gotta shoot the dudes with rocket launcher and escape with your friend. I cant get past after you blow up the bridge and do one more pass over the airport.

Will there be any DLC for Far Cry 3? I am aware of the pre-order "DLC" missions "Lost Expeditions" and the PS3 exclusive "High Tides" Co-Op DLC, but will there be more? Hoping for many more missions, both side and story related, possibly an island addition? Is the series known for this type of content?

I ask because I am taking FC3 super slow, doing EVERY side mission, crafting / hunting constantly, collectible collecting zone-by-zone in almost a "WoW-like" fashion of quest hubs (some of you should understand the analogy). Currently only 5 radio towers and 6 or 7 outposts with many crafting items approaching or at their max level (no special syringes yet though). Just now going to see Dennis again with only the top half of the north island explored.

@8 hours of play, so yes, super slow and lots of hunting haha

Island addition / expansion DLC please! :)

    • Yeah, this is absolutely nothing new and EA have done it before. Burnout Paradise, released in 2008, had dynamic advertising billboards that were updated via the internet and targeted people based on location and what EA knew about them from their profile. It was particularly notable for the fact that the Obama presidential campaign ran ads in the game, in an attempt to reach a younger audience who didn't watch broadcast TV any more. It was by no means the first though. Battlefield 2142 from 2006 had the same thing. In fact, Neowin wrote a story about it back then. https://www.neowin.net/news/ba...-in-game-ads-clarification/
    • This is obviously aimed at the education where Apple has lost so much ground to Chromebooks in the last few years, but unless they come up with a comparable management system for education why would anyone switch back?
    • Here's how we arrived at that claim: Note that this is just Play Store downloads. The app is also available on the Galaxy App Store
    • Google Play states the app had more than 50 million downloads. What other metric do you suggest should be used?
    • MSN defined our generation in some ways, kind of like Snapchat and TikTok have done for future generations. I have great memories of the MSN era in the late 90s / early 2000s. In the UK everyone seemed to come home from School and go on MSN for the evening. We didn't really have mobile phones then, so other than going and knocking on your friends door it was a totally new way of interacting with people. I also loved how I could talk to people I’d met playing online games from around the world. Inviting people to NetMeeting and messing about with the shared white board and webcams was pretty fun, even if webcams only ran at a couple of fps over dial-up. All the random things you could do with MsgPlus! were really fun - I suspect that made a few people jump with /shello randomly blasting Mr Hankey out their speakers! Maybe I’m just nostalgic, however I do feel the internet and computers were more fun back then.
