if they said he was alive, imagine how many Muslims would be taking buildings and people hostage demanding his release? it would be a daily thing...

Wouldnt surprise me. They have a brain the size of a pea. Harsh but if you go around killing people because "alah" told you to, then somehting is messed up.

It's funny how people always slander Muslims and call them terrorists when I can bet those people have never met a REAL Muslim. In my experience most people of the Muslim religion that I have met were actually really nice and never pushed there beliefs on me and never tried to attack me rofl. Stereotypes are just that... Stereotypes.. they are stupid and if you read the Koran yes it can be interpreted for good or for evil BUT it is up to the person reading the book, and that's something ALL religions are guilty of.

IRA is gone, you are living in the 90's.

Need I continue with a simple Google search/copy pasta ? PIRA, OIRA, RIRA ,CIRA etc are all splintered factions from the first "IRA" terrorist group .Same guys pulling triggers and planting bombs , just under a new name. Often to confuse but mainly to deflect unwanted pressures on political parties such as Sinn F?in . I'm afraid to say they are still about and killing innocent people. These groups are as much of threat in mainland UK as Al-Qaeda.

I really do hope Bin Laden is at the bottom of the sea , it would be very problematic if he wasn't and it became common knowledge the whole saga was "manufactured".

I think it's false to equate Islam and Christianity. You might have a relatively small group of Muslims who are committed to jihad when you consider there are 1.x billions Muslims worldwide, but there seems to be legions of Muslims who support them. Either indirectly, by making excuses for their actions or trying to downplay the issue of jihad, or directly through funding and open support.

You also can't ignore the Islamic militias in Africa who are killing scores of people with the hope of converting the entire continent to Islam. Sure, Christians send in their missionaries and try to convert people, but you can't pretend it's the same thing.

Of course, it's worth noting that many millions of Muslims are victims of their cruel, Muslim rulers. Military, political and Royal leaders who couldn't care less about their faithful brothers and sisters. Who live in the lap of luxury while people around them are starving and dying.

the reason we have more wackos in islam today is because of the religious education that's been going on in islamic countries over children. There are some more lucky ones like my country but still there is a pressure on us to put religion in education system that finally lead to put "the life of Prophet Muhammed" as an optional class. While in most Christian populated countries people understood the value of a secular education system but this is quite the opposite in islamic countries with a few exceptions. To me forcing a child to any religious believe is child abuse. We should let them decide for themselves when they are old enough to understand it...brainwashing causes an intolerant, barbaric mindless generations.

oh good gawd... might want to FACT check there

Actually, those are words from Al-Jazeera. Be it not exact words as it was "Not all muslims are terrorists, however its sad that most terrorists are muslims".

comming from the 'CNN/BCC' of the arabic world...

I dont think you understood the comparison I was making, if you disagree then show why it's wrong but claiming it's false doesnt make it false. There are different sects of Islam just as there is in Christianity, You have different levels of commitment to each. In those ways, they are very comparible. On top of that, you still have extremist in both. To the level of extremist is where you can argue the differences divide from each other.

And if you want to bring up Africa, dont forget Kony, who is killing in the name of Chrisitanity. So I dont need to pretend its the same thing, killing in the name of god, any god, is still killing in that name. Lets not pretend Christianity's hands are free from blood.

Nonsense. The doctrine of Jihad [Holy War] is foundational to the Quran. Misinterpretation is not a deflection in this case. Jihad is not just a "small number of Muslims"...it is happening world wide, crosses cultural, religious, ethnic, national borders in scope. The "nice verses" in the Quran have a very specific context...in that a person willingly submits. And if you resist? Jihad rears it's ugly head. The point with equating rouge actions of self proclaimed Christians with Jihad Muslims is completely flipped flopped in it's mechanics. If someone claims to be a follower of Christ, yet demonstrates imperialistic militaristic behavior to somehow establish a Christian theocratic rule...there is no context for it within the teachings of Jesus or the apostles. But when a Muslim does these things in the name of allah, they are purely following the path of words & deeds Muhammad layed out.

"I shall terrorize the infidels. So wound their bodies and incapacitate them because they oppose Allah and His Apostle." Qur'an:8:12

And where is this Kony's Biblical justification of his actions and just how it is "Christian"??? After all the word means "Christ follower/imitator". Where did Jesus teach & demonstrate it? Or any of the disciples or apostles? Just read the Quran AND the Hadiths and you'll get a cystal clear picture that Muhammad was a warlord tyrant that spread Islam by the sword, just as much as a spiritual figurehead.

That's the problem with interpretation, people see and get out of it what they want. Justification is in the eye of the beholder. God of the bible may not be a "warlord" but tyrant on the other hand is up for debate. The crusades is an example of spreading Christianity by the sword.

"Eye of the beholder" wasn't my point. My was simply if people claiming to be Christians behave badly to further dominance of Christian rule by the sword. What did Jesus say about the sword anyways?

"Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again your sword into its place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword." Matthew 26:52

Besides all the Crusades were not simply for Christians to dominate. Europe was attacked for over 400 years by Muslims armies...they over ran 2/3 of the continent before the Europeans even had a real orgainized resistence...which came with the battle of tours in 732 A.D. when Charles Martel stopped the invading Muslim armies at Paris, France. In the early 700s Muslim armies conquered Spain to force Islamic rule...and it took 800 years for them to take back their homelands from the Muslim invaders, known as the Reconquista. The the complete history of Christian Europe & Islam is alot more complicated than just focusing on and claiming Christians attacked Muslim in the Middle East.

there is no doctrinal justification besides for believer in the name of Christianity to force belief on others, that is called sin/disobedience. The reason for accepting Jesus as one's Lord & Savior is to mimmick and adhere to His behavior & teachings as He said "who so ever comes". Islamic Jihad against infidel [unbelievers] is plain in the face doctrinal support to war against those resist Islam and refuse to accept it's rule. Christians are never afforded this right, "vengeance is mine saith the Lord"...the prophesied rule & reign of Jesus Christ is not brought about by Christians taking over the world, the context is the Creator Himself taking back what is rightfully His. Muhammad said Jihad is the duty of every Muslim...

"Jihad is ordained for you, though you dislike it. But it is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and like a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knows, and you know not. "Warfare is ordained for you." Quran 2:216

And how did Muhammad define Jihad?

"Among the Believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah and have gone out for Jihad. Some have completed their vow to extreme and have been martyred fighting and dying in His Cause, and some are waiting, prepared for death in battle." Quran 33:22

Justification for Christians behaving bad? = zero.

Justification for Muslims to behave bad?= Jihad.

Again it's irrelevant to what the bible conveys, Kony is still killing based on his beliefs. Beliefs that he believes falls in line with a Christian way. You dont have to like it but that doesn't change what he is doing and what he believes he is doing. It in no way means other Christians around the world accept what he is doing either. Killing in god's name, regardless of what the bible or koran or any other religious text says, is still killing in that name. Even if it goes against the grain of the rest of society and those that hold religious views.

As for the crusades, it still was a religious war blessed by the pope and church. It resulted in the killing in the name of god. Yes it was a bit more then that, but that still remains a basic underlying fact.

As for accepting Jesus, well that too can be argued that the goal of that has changed greatly from the time of Jesus. Most christians, including the church stand in stark contrast to the actual teachings and doings of Jesus. People might pretend that they want to mimic but it's not hard to see that saying and doing are really worlds apart. So trying to argue that the bible does or doesnt say something, therefore what people do doesnt count when it goes against the grain of the bible is really just BS talk.

You can argue there are far more muslim extremest then christian ones, that doesn't mean there arent christian ones. Extremest are still extremest, period.

So let me get this straight....because people are not perfect and there are ones who use the title of Christian without merit, all the talk about what the Bible actually says is BS? Its apparent people use the failings of Christians as a reason to attack the belief system, when the Bible declares that every human [except Jesus] has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Anyways the word "disciple" means "learner"...no one is perfect, even the recognized names in the Bible failed Jesus. Remember Peter? And here in my point has considerbly more substance than yours...in that the Christian belief system is by and far more honorable than Islam. Christians are called to a standard where the end never justifies the means...because of the teachings of Jesus are so honorable. I surmise when Muslims act honorably and are tolerant of those who resist the advance of Islam, they are doing in spite of what Muhammad taught.

I didnt say all the talk about the bible is BS, what I said was "what people do doesnt count when it goes against the grain of the bible is really just BS talk". Meaning people who pretend to mimic Jesus while doing the opposite are just BSers. IMO that's most people. As for who is more honorable, thats really subjective. If you were muslim, chances are you would think you were more honorable, hence the subjectivity. And being called to a statanded and to heed to a standard are two different things. Again what one christian's devotions are doesn't mean it's the same as the next.

Like I said, christians have their share of extremest. Regardless of what the religious texts say, the people behind these acts still believe they are christians.

    • NASA: This asteroid may not kill us but it probably won't be far off either by Sayan Sen Image by Zelch Csaba via Pexels New observations by NASA's James Webb Space Telescope have eliminated the last remaining impact threat posed by asteroid 2024 YR4, ruling out the possibility that the near-Earth object could strike the Moon in December 2032. NASA said observations collected by Webb on February 18 and 26, 2026, enabled scientists to refine the asteroid's orbit enough to "rule out a chance of lunar impact on Dec. 22, 2032." Instead, asteroid 2024 YR4 is now expected to pass the Moon at a distance of about 13,200 miles (21,200 km). The agency stressed that the update "reflects improved precision in our understanding of where the asteroid is expected to be in 2032 rather than a shift in its orbital path." The announcement closes a remarkable chapter in planetary defence that began in late 2024, when the approximately 60-metre-wide asteroid briefly became the most closely watched near-Earth object in the world. Discovered on December 27, 2024, by the ATLAS telescope in Chile, 2024 YR4 initially appeared to have a small chance of colliding with Earth on December 22, 2032. As astronomers gathered more observations, the impact probability briefly climbed to around 3%—the highest ever recorded for an asteroid of its size—before steadily falling as its orbit became better understood. By early 2025, international observations had ruled out any significant risk to Earth. However, astronomers were left with another possibility: a roughly 4% chance that the asteroid could instead strike the Moon. "The probability that asteroid 2024 YR4 will strike the Moon on 22 December 2032 is now approximately 4%," the European Space Agency (ESA) had said last year, noting that "there is a 96% chance that the asteroid will not impact the Moon." ESA said such an impact, while unlikely, would have presented an extraordinary scientific opportunity. "It is a very rare event for an asteroid this large to impact the Moon – and it is rarer still that we know about it in advance. The impact would likely be visible from Earth, and so scientists will be very excited by the prospect of observing and analysing it," said Richard Moissl, Head of ESA's Planetary Defence Office. "It would certainly leave a new crater on the surface. However, we wouldn't be able to accurately predict in advance how much material would be thrown into space, or whether any would reach Earth," he added. The asteroid also exposed an important blind spot in planetary defence. Because 2024 YR4 approached Earth from the direction of the Sun, it remained hidden from ground-based telescopes until after its closest approach. "We looked into how Neomir would have performed in this situation, and the simulations surprised even us," Moissl said. "Neomir would have detected asteroid 2024 YR4 about a month earlier than ground-based telescopes did. This would have given astronomers more time to study the asteroid's trajectory and allowed them to much sooner rule out any chance of Earth impact in 2032." He added, "As an infrared telescope, like Webb, Neomir would have also immediately given us a much better estimate for the asteroid's size, which is very important for assessing the significance of the hazard." The latest NASA observations underscore the value of space-based infrared telescopes in tracking faint asteroids. According to NASA, Webb made "among the faintest ever observations of an asteroid," extending the object's observational record by nearly eight months at a time when it had become too faint for other telescopes. That additional data allowed scientists to eliminate the remaining uncertainty surrounding its 2032 flyby. Although asteroid 2024 YR4 is now confirmed to pose no threat to either Earth or the Moon, scientists say its discovery remains one of the most significant real-world tests of the international planetary defence system, demonstrating how continued observations can rapidly transform an object once considered hazardous into one whose future path is known with high confidence.
