Half Life 2 Beta leaked?

Recommended Posts

can i just say a big fat;

SO WHAT

*ahem* sorry. so what it's been leaked/stolen. you have to face the music and accept its happened, its irreversable. And of course people are going to be downloading this, valve hyped it up so much (or if they didnt someone did!).

I just wonder what ill be doing in 2 years looking at gamespy with another new "Top 10 Game Launch Hypes" with Half-Life 2 at #1 with: "Remember when valve leaked there own game out to get even more attention, and then when they released it 6 months late, nobody bought it." Or something similar when we find out whar REALLY happened.

LOL I just want to know something.... If someone stole this from Valve presumably from then internet (and not an internal leak as they say) How could the network admin not notice almost 2Gigs of outgoing traffic ? I mean daaammmnnn ! lol wonder how long they had to be connected to download that.... And as for not being able to find it. It took me all of 4 seconds to find it LOL Anyway I wouldnt worry about it spoiling the sales Valve is probably pushing back the release date to change some of the content that way it will pay to buy it :) Looks awsome just wish I had a better video card hmmm maybe Santa will bring me something nice... :)

Edit:If you look a little longer you can find ISO's of 2 disk images(I would guess some one already extracted them to the images) About 400 people have that file on Edonkey.....

hm, maybe cause the guys at valve have high bandwidth usage every day for i don't know, or maybe it happened when nobody was there to check it (during night maybe) i don't know

Read the nfo, they stole the demo as well. They figured that seeing as the source was leaked, they might as well have leaked the demo.

They wouldn't be able to do what the images imply without the resources that go along with the source. So yes more than just the source was taken.

Someone wouldn't go through all that trouble to only get the source code. I'm sure they probably would have gotten the rest of the files too.

Everyone ... cut all the BS about a leak not necessarily stolen. Its WAS stolen. My heart goes out the programmers invovled. Imagine working 5 years of your life and then having it all stolen and not made any money from it.

I'm sure if someone stole your $2000+ computer or car which you'd spent months earning you'd be complaining to everyone. This is the same thing. Its STEALING. I hope the idiot(s) who stole the source 1) get the FBI after them; 2) get to spend a long time in jail and being someone else's b*****. They deserve it.

And if you actually have the source and the leaked demo why brag about having it? Its no better than being the stolen goods dealer trying to sell your stolen computer.

Just my 2 cents.

I don't like what theyre going to introduce with STEAM , but I dont like neither what those idiot monkeys are going to make with the HL2code , I can see now exploits , multiplayer cheats , etc . . . shame , shame .... true . . .

(Personally after all the work done with that (HL2) , I would go ballistic and , and rewrite the whole thing even if that means delaying the game launch 3 years more or a simultaneously release with Duke Nukem Forever)

    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
