Half Life 2 Beta leaked?

Recommended Posts

I can only fell sorry for valve programers,

This will be the mod-hack-mayhem..

How will this affect game industry, will this mean silent developing,

And what about the GPU war, will this affect it...(perhaps nvidia investigating the source for better performance-IQ)

why? ppl who were going to buy it will still buy it and ppl who were going to warez it will still warez it. this isn't gonna make any difference

Let me see here, the people that warez it will not end up buying it so the intended market for this game will drop potnetialy. So no, some people will not still but it, *sigh...people will more than like warez, network it and share amongst friends.

So you see valve will lose money = copies sold.

laskfhdklasdjlkdj = I win :angry:

HEH

hey all, been reading these NW forums for longgg time and just now decided to register, since staind asked so nicely ;)

but first the source, then a compiled playable source, now an actual hl2 beta.

geesh.

looks real though, and makes sense - cause why would the person who stole from valve, steal partial source, and nothing else. Anyone play it yet? good stuff?

edit: aw, only 1 post, and like 37k member.....i feel like an outcast

and don't forget it's birthday time! https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=104741

all yah have to do is Register

I'm telling you this....

Nvidia hired some P1r4t3s to steal HL2 source while striking a deal with ID Software to make DOOm run the best on their line of cards so they could get DOOM out faster than HL2, so both companies make out gooood. Its a big conspiracy I tell yah!!! :alien:

All this to get back in the saddle to boost sales and hurt the true people....the public. Damn Capitalist Nazis!!! ;)

Someone wouldn't go through all that trouble to only get the source code. I'm sure they probably would have gotten the rest of the files too.

Everyone ...  cut all the BS about a leak not necessarily stolen. Its WAS stolen. My heart goes out the programmers invovled. Imagine working 5 years of your life and then having it all stolen and not made any money from it.

I'm sure if someone stole your $2000+ computer or car which you'd spent months earning you'd be complaining to everyone. This is the same thing.  Its STEALING. I hope the idiot(s) who stole the source 1) get the FBI after them; 2) get to spend a long time in jail and being someone else's b*****. They deserve it.

And if you actually have the source and the leaked demo why brag about having it? Its no better than being the stolen goods dealer trying to sell your stolen computer.

Just my 2 cents.

hear hear (Y)

Agreed x 2!!!

Wuts up guys. I dont really post alot but I do read a hell of a lot on these forums. I just wanna know a few things, does it run good? and is it fun? Good thing it was pushed back so i could try and scrap together sum money to update my vid card (if the wife will let me :( ) Thanks for posting screens, Im pretty anxious to get this game but im not gonna download the leaked beta. :)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Vivendi are the only ones saying the game has been delayed till April. There hasn't been any official word from Valve yet other than what was said on www.halflifesource.com.

Edit: halflifesource.com just recently updated saying they recieved a email they believe is from a Vivendi representative who says the delay is not confirmed.

statikmat.. Vivendi is the publisher, so what they say goes. i'm not saying the delay is true or not, i'm just letting you know that what valve says doesn't matter. if vivendi says we're not shipping until xxxx, then thats what happens

i remember the crowbar picture... april 2003. everybody thought it's a april fool, then it looked like the game is finished.

now- delayed until april 2004...

anyway, i don't mind. i dont have a time to play games, and if i'd like to play any, there are a lot of others. yeah i'm curious, HL2 is interesting, but wtf, i'll play it when it's finished. can't you guys live without this game or what? i don't get it...

    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
