Not really the best shots ever, but it's the first few shots i've ever taken with a DSLR.

Wow! Great pictures! So this is the Canon Rebel T2i right? If so, do you recommend this camera for outdoor concert pics? I am going to an Alan Jackson concert (which I have been dying to go to for a long time) in August and I would like the best pics I can get for a decent price. Thanks in advance!

If you can afford it then definitely. I would recommend the 50mm 1.8f mkII and a decent zoom lens if you want to do outdoor concerts

Ok, great! Thank you! For this concert I probably won't need much zoom because I will be close to the stage (hopefully no more than 5 rows back).

What do you make of the following two lenses that would come with the camera if I buy it?:

EF-S 18-55mm lens, EF 75-300mm lens

I don't know about the 18-55mm, I've only ever used my friends and I wasn't too thrilled with it... the EF 75-300mm they let me borrow is pretty damn good. Although no image stabilization makes it a tough sell BUT it still takes fantastic shots.

little bit of tweaking to the RAW file in lightroom 4.. those 3 were shot with the 75-300mm, I would recommend either the 75-300mm or possibly the 50mm 1.8 II .. the 50mm is only about $100-120 online depending on where you look.. most of the images on my flickr page are shot with that lens

Take a look at this custom firmware. I use it and its very good.

I've got Magic Lantern installed as well :) I kinda like trap focus, athough its really only designed to get the focus in the middle of the shot. I haven't really played around with it for video recording yet.. I wanna wait til I get a Rode VideoMic first :p

Ok, thank you. I appreciate it. The only trouble is that with the cost of the concert, the cost of the camera, and several other things, I really can't afford another lens right now.

Ok the two biggest categories in there are cats and computers. Thus we have to reach the conclusion that the system is directing you to buy a cybernetic cat!

ROFL! I can hear it now! "Me Ow! Me Ow! I'll Be Back!" :D

the 18-55mm should do just fine for what you need

Ok, thank you. I appreciate it. It may not be professional level results, but if they are great pictures, they will be well worth it! :)
