Longhorn wordt in 2006 ge?ntroduceerd. Door Edwin Feldmann 4 reacties Tijdens de Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference lieten diverse sprekers zich ontvallen dat het nog drie jaar duurt voordat Longhorn op de markt komt. Dit betekent dat Longhorn opnieuw later komt dan verwacht. Eerdere tijdschema's gingen nog uit van 2005. Microsoft zou later deze maand de eerste details van Longhorn onthullen. Naar nu blijkt zal er in ieder geval geen b?taversie worden gedemonstreerd omdat het daarvoor simpelweg te vroeg is, schrijft Microsoft Watch. Microsoft heeft altijd ontkend dat er een Windows XP SE (Second Edition) zou uitkomen. Nu de datum voor Longhorn officieel is gesteld op 2006, worden de geruchten rond een XP SE-versie weer luider omdat er nog zeker twee kerstperiodes aankomen zonder nieuwe softwarepakketten van Microsoft. Vorige week kondigde Steve Ballmer aan dat er binnen enkele maanden service packs uitkomen voor XP en Windows Server 2003. Door het uitstellen van Longhorn, wordt de verwachte introductie van Longhorn Server, dat aanvankelijk in 2006 zou verschijnen, verschoven naar 2007. So, just waiting 'till 2006........ On the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference it is siad that it will take 3 years before Longhorn will be released. MS denies it will release a WinXP SE. XP is doing fine on this comp.. it is the most stable OS i have ever used...
