Can not install Firefox for Android, "device isn't compatible"

Recommended Posts

I can not install the newly released (well, out of beta) Firefox for Android.

I am using a rooted ZTE Skate. ColdFusionX ROM (based on Android 4.0.4) is installed.

I get "Your device isn't compatible with this version."

Any ideas?

Worked a treat, but I get a "Unfortunately, Firefox has stopped." message as soon as I open the app.

Ah well!

Yea there are problems with the keyboard and touchpad on my transformer too, with Honeycomb you could goto Settings > Apps and choose a compatibility mode for the app but they seem to have removed it in ICS

You could try playing with the developer options settings, maybe the GPU settings for Force GPU rendering ?

Hmm, I linked you to the "latest" folder but it seems that is an old build, looks like this is the latest

https://ftp.mozilla....android-arm.apk

That alpha/nightly one doesn't crash, but it doesn't do anything. It just shows a white screen.

Not to worry, thank you for your help :)

I can post my APK if you like. I have the latest downloaded.

No, it's fine, I don't think it'll run on this device.

Thank you a lot, though :)

I have found out why. The latest version is ARMv7 only.

ARMv6 builds are here.

interesting, wouldn't have thought there were different versions of ARM or that they would make that big of difference with app compatibility
